You know, it's interesting you mention that. After I merged the threads, I noticed there was a title change. Either another moderator stepped in, or the merge did it automatically (which isn't likely...but...whatever).

It works though, since this is now the go-to thread for Skype.

Are you using Windows or Macintosh?

If you're using Windows, in the lower right corner find the icon that looks like a Horn with "sound waves" emitting from it, right click it, click "Open Volume Mixer" there should be a way to to turn on "Advanced Settings," and then change the settings to your microphone.



Usually though if you're hearing what you're saying through THEIR speakers, their computer is probably set too loud or they are too close to the internet.

I didn't think the xbox mic could plug into the pc, because the wya the controler jack is rounded.

I also got to admit, most agree the xbox 360 "basic" microphone is kind of crappy. :)

I'm going to bring this thread back into the year 2009 to express my disgust with the Skype 4.0

It's no longer in beta, it's now the "offical" skype.

They removed the "Skype me mode," which is the reason I use skype in the first place. They also removed "not available" mode, so now you have to use that wimpy wimpy "away" mode.

It also looks like ****. You can set it back to classic view, but the chat windows are still too tall.

My mom is addicted to it, and she uses it for work, so we have a webcam as well. However with the screen problem with the laptop until we get it fixed we can't be using this machine that much (I'm only using it right now when nobody's around so that I don't get nagged at hehe).
