(I accidentally posted this in the anime forums first...)

Well what is everyone here doing for St. Patrick's day? I am thinking about having some friends over, drinking, listening to some good ole' Flogging Molly and bagpipe (Saor Patrol, an awesome group of....pipe-ist)

White Day was yesterday too. As for St Patties? Nothing, going to school will probably be the highlight of the day.

I don't really like what St. Patrick's day is. Same with Easter and Christmas. I don't ever go to church or anything but I dislike how companies use religious holidays to sell their products.

I'll listen to Irish folk music but I do that every day so I don't know if that counts.

The funny thing is, at least this year, the secular and religious activities will be held on different days...anyone showing up at church on Monday will not be hearing the mass they expected...

I have the week off and will be protesting in front of the Chinese consulate. However I might take a break for some Guinness at a pub some associates invited me to.

If you think St. Patrick's day is about food, you've got a lot to learn.

Mead

You just edged a little bit closer to a painful demise with that. That little "viking" thing isn't helping, either.

Same.

Happy St. Patty's ya'll.

I celebrated last night by way of many many beers and Irish car bombs at our staff sergeant's house. We also had some Flogging Molly playing and somebody had the idea of putting Guitar Hero up in the back yard with a projector. I didn't play but watched my friends Derek and David play Raining Blood on expert difficulty. That was insane. :-P

Woke up with a massive hangover too. I'm taking a haitus.

>_< Do you even know any Irish people? And no, before you ask, no one by the name 'Liao' was ever Irish.....

What the...? Why does this not surprise me?

Fool, the only way to enjoy a good Guinness is crumpled under the bar singing unrecognizable gibberish, nose redder than a tomato, drinking from a bottomless mug....

Ack! St.Patrick's Day is tomorrow?

When it comes to the whole drinking-and-fighting ethos..... I'd rather keep away from the fighting, so I think I'll be hiding away at home tomorrow night...

Man, there is NO traditional mead in this town. Some places have some English mead....but no norwegian mead...

March 18th, 2008, 12:02 AM
Um.... how is "Norwegian mead" considered traditional outside of Norway?

Don't get me wrong, I love mead. I just don't associate it with Norway as strongly as I associate, say, snow with Norway. Or Norwegians - I hear they have a few. Mead? Not really as integral to the Norwegian experience, from what I've heard.
