I feel like this is an incredibly stupid question, but going to throw it out there anyways. What are the do's and don'ts of importing hentai doujinshi from japan into the U.S.? The line seems so blurred as to what is technically legal and illegal to me. For example, the girls from Gundam Seed and the like are technically under 18 in the series, but I wouldn't consider that loli yet I could fathom those who could see that as loli. So on one hand I could see an argument against such works but at the same time there are tons of stores that sell hentai in the U.S., including a Sam Goody's a few blocks away that sells hentai DVD's. Am I just being incredibly paranoid?

are ya selling Doujinshi's from Japan to the U.S.? that be sweet!! however, considering the legalities of the ages depicted on the doujinshis would question your rights to import these. but considering that they also sell hentai DVD's, i think it's alright. just watch out though.

Dōjinshi are pretty much under the radar as far as enforcement of obscenity laws are concerned. If you are only importing single copies for personal use (and you live in the United States—Canada is a different story), don't worry about it.

No, just for myself. Sorry, guess I wasn't clear in the original post.

This would be to the United States, but I guess it's just in my character to over worry about things.

lol, kinishinai de kudasai. human nature tends to worry so much. even i worry of getting caught by my girlfriend though i have it in my safe. basically, yeah, probably you can import doujinshis for personal use only but if ya sell it especially in the U.S., it's a different story. they regard pictures as pornography in a stronger sense than DVD's. well, at least that what my friend in the U.S. said. so just good luck and don't worry about it too much.
