Alright, so how many members here have watched or are planning on watching Choujuu Kishin Dancouga (http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?id=2255)?
This has got to be one of the best super robot shows I've seen to date. The main characters, Shinobu, Sara, Masato and Ryo are all likable and all have their distinct personalities, which makes them really enjoyable to watch. The supporting cast, especially General Igor, Dr. Hazuki and the Black Knight, are well developed and given good amounts of screen time, especially as the series progress. The villains, the Muge Zorbados Empire are also well done, but the primary antagonist throughout most of the series is Shapiro Keats, who is portrayed perfectly by Norio Wakamoto, and is well developed and likable antagonist.
The mecha are of course, awesome. The CBF Vehicles are pretty effective on their own, but in Beast form, they're damn strong, and these see use throughout the series. The humanoid modes aren't seen as much, but are also useful in certain combat situations. And of course, combined they create Dancouga, an extremely powerful super robot that gets by on a massive gun and martial arts.
The series is 38 episodes long, and was released on VHS in America at one point, but fansubs are available. There are also 3 Sequel OVAs, Requiem for Victims, God Bless Dancouga and Hakunetsu no Shusho.
I'd recommend this to anyone who loves the super robot genre, especially some of the stuff from the 80's.
