I can't help but wonder why Funimation just isn't starting from Movie 1? Unless they wanna pull another Dragonball Z and just release it out of order, thinking that no one will really care and they just want to rake in fans with one of the more exciting and action packed movies.

But arn't all the movies pretty stand a lone?
You don't have to watch them in order.
Maybe they just wanna release one of the most recent, plus they missed this arc & won't be able to release it for a very long time so I see this movie as sort of a replacement until then-_-;

Yes

You don't have to watch them in order.

That's true.

Movie 4 was the best, IMO. This movie is pretty much just a re-cap/re-telling of the Arabasta arc, not a new adventure. So, I cant really say im interested in it.

This is going to rock so much... ****.

Just how much more perfect can Zoro vs Mr1 possibly get? Guess we'll find out.

how exactly is this movie going to be? the Arabasta arc was long and the movie is probably around 2 hours (?). do they just shorten the episodes or is this actually with new animations etc etc?

Its completely new animation I believe, not those episodes edited into a movie which would be very hard considering how long it is. But I can see a movie with the basic main storyline working very well as a movie.

I can't believe it but this movie is playing in the theater where I live, they NEVER show anime so this is rare.

It airs February 7th-10th.

I'm sure its the dub release, which I don't mind. I might go see it if I have the time, only airs at one time a day.

If you want to see if your theater is playing it.

No idea.

I got the DVD early so no point seeing it in theaters, which I'm glad I didn't because the movie wasn't that good. It was decent but doesn't compare tothe TV version, it felt far too rushed & choppy edited. I was also disapointed in the music, what the hell Kohei Tanaka? Besides a few scenes it was very lackluster compared to the TV series.

The uncut dub was pretty good. Unlike the TV release they kept all the original names(like Zoro) & dialog isn't edited down for children(so they can swear to a PG-13 level). I look forward to the uncut dub on DVD, chances are it will be in 5.1 as well.

I read at AnimeOnDVD where someone said Toei forced them to release that movie first. -_-;

i just got it for 22.97 at wal-mart and i can say i was disappointed they took out all the cool parts to cram it all into a 90 minute "full length" feature film
but i can also say it was good enough to watch 3 or 4 more times ive already watched it 3 times . also they cuss,blood, the cigars and cigerettes are there the boots are to their normal pointy selves sanji chin is more defined, nami actullay gets stabbed but the fighht between bonclay and sanji sucked cuz they took all the cool stuff out and so did the fight with nami,the fight with zoro and that steel dude was cool.but isay agai nits good enough to watch 4-5 more times
