Is there any indications to which region one titles are censored (ie: the mosaic)
and which are not? I’ve noticed a slim number of DVDs are proclaimed to be
‘mosaic free’ or ‘censor-free’ so I’m not sure which is which. Currently, I’m
looking at getting Bible Black, Boin, Another Lady Innocent, Sexfriend,
Boobalicious, Hills have Size, Virgin Touch and One True Stories.

Are the majority of region one titles censored? Or vice versa, or it just depends?

If I’m going to pay anywhere from fifteen to thirty dollars for a 30 minute DVD,
I’d atleast like to know that I’m getting myself into..

I'm almost positive that all legal Region 1 titles are uncensored. So positive that I've never EVER heard of a Region 1 relese being censored, including all those titles you listed, except One True Stories, never seen it. Still I can say with certainty that it's not mosaic'd

NO R1 ero-anime titles that have been released by a legitimate company have been released with mosaic censoring. If you buy one from a company that's passing itself off as legit, you've been ripped off and it's a bootleg from the original R2

from what i read in a Bible Black website last year, all Region 1 DVD's a more likely to be censored but Region 2 are uncensored. i don't know if that is a reliable information though. i am just writing what i learned from there. i myself don't even know where is region 1 or region 2. hehe. anyway, canvassing, buying, and testing by playing DVD's from different regions is worth a try. if it's uncensored, you're lucky.

No, that is false. It's R2 hentai that uses censoring.

When they are licensed internationally and get an R1 release, that is when they get uncensored. All the Bible Black R1 DVDs are uncensored.

Most—but not all—North American (Region 1) DVD releases of hentai have the mosaic censoring omitted. The Other Big Anime Specialty Retailer makes note of which ones are and are not mosaicked (and is good about responding to corrections of mistakes in their on-line catalog).

Keep in mind that for older titles, the animators worked with the expectation that the naughty bits would be censored so they often put little work into animating the details. Sometimes, they didn't bother to animate the naughty bits at all. As a result, even the uncensored versions look like they're still censored.

This has since changed as releasing uncensored h-anime to the rest of the world has become commonplace. I wish I had a specific example I could cite for you.

I do: compare the penis in episode three of F^3: Female, Frustrated, and Frantic with those in Mezzo Forte and Kite; or the vulvae in Lunatic Night (which are totally missing—IIRC the penis seems to slide under the women's crotches) with those in, say, Bible Black: New Testment.
