Major cosplay help needed!

Alright, I'm going to my very first (maybe second if you count the AV nights) con! I'm really excited and I want to dress up and have fun. The only problem is I don't know what to go as. ^^"

I'm really creative, and I can make a cute outfit out of just about anything, but I'm having issues with exactly what I want to do here.

I know that I want to look a little like the character, but hair and eye colors' no problem (I'm about to dye it anyway). Problem is I can't seem to find a character I look like.

Well, first off, some examples of shows or the kinds of shows (or games, for that matter) would be of great help, as well as if you're willing to crossplay. That'll either broaden or narrow down the options significantly.

Alright, well I want to cosplay as someone that people will recognize, but not a character so popular that there are seven to ten of them runnning around at the con.

Crossplays' fine. I'd need some tips for binding though if I do.
