Okay, I've settled on what seems to be a good initial selection for me and the wife to delve into on an upcoming vacation. Plus, Right Stuf has a good discount, so I might as well take advantage of that while I can. =)

I've got the following in mind; Another Lady Innocent, Boin (1&2),Class Reunion Again (1&2), Love Lessons, Virgin Touch, Women At Work, and a Heat for all Seasons.

How’s this look for an initial emersion? Being completely new to this side of Anime, we're looking for considerably explicit material while still maintaining a good level of quality without straying into the violence and/or obscure fetishes. Ie: Tentacles, Demons, ect, ect.

Are there any titles that I should swap out with something better suited, or something that needs to be added? I've generally heard favorable opinions on most of these titles, so if anyone has anything else to add, I'd be grateful for the insight!

I've done as much research as I can online, but most of the review sites are lagging somewhat, so I'm generally going on word of mouth here..

I've heard the Vanilla Series has some good titles to offer, but it’s sort of like playing russian roulette. That it goes from one end of the spectrum to another without much warning.

I've also heard mixed opinions about F3, Sexfriend, Tokyo Private Police, Darling, Body Transfer, Akiba Girls and Messo Forte, but nothing near enough to make a buying decision.

As I said, any insight would be desperately appreciated! :)

F3 is a fun title and is a good introduction to hentai in general. Keep in mind it is essentially all lesbian scenes. It's also quite humorous.

Mezzo Forte contains rape (as does Kite which is by the same artist). So unless your wife is ok with that Id strike that from your list. On the other hand Mezzo and Kite do contain action stories so there is a plot, not just sex.

Sexfriend is pretty cute. Darling is just plain weird (explores various extreme fetishes) and the animation quality is so-so. If Akiba Girls is what I think it is then it contains a fair amount of rape.

Lady Innocent is pretty innocent xD and fun and might I add incredible animation quality. Heat for all Seasons is also innocent and fun but minus the animation quality.

There are websites that provide synopsis, ratings and reviews for hentai and that's really what you should check out before making any purchases. I cant think of any off the top of my head but Im sure someone else will post them.

It's easier to make a list of hentai for newbies to avoid than a list of good series to enjoy. -_-

I'm recommending the Tales series, 4 short collections, they're older but light-hearted and a nice introduction to adult anime. They're called: Tales of Misbehavior, Tales of Seduction, Tales of Tittilation, and Tales of Sintillation. They aren't very explicit, mostly comedy with sex thrown in.

I'd avoid F3 if I were you because depending on the translation it's incestuous, and there is a mechanical tentacle scene.

Whatever you choose, avoid the dub. H-dubs are notoriously bad. After you watch a few subbed, watch one dubbed just to hear what you're "missing". I suppose H-dubs are valuable for the laughs you'll have over how terrible the acting is. But it's so un-sexy, it's not funny.

I'll also point you to Animetric.com which has extensive hentai reviews.

F3 has futanari. If you don't already know what that is don't ask, don't Google it, and don't get it.

See my .sig for lists—you probably want the Comedy, Romantic, and Normal lists, possibly along with the Plot list. Also, here is the link to the list of review sites (http://www.animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?p=6169906#post6169906) I've compiled. Additional sources of information include the Anime News Network Encyclopedia, AnimeNfo.com, Wikipedia, AniSearch.de (in German, but it has screenshots), and specialty porn video retailers, which also tend to have screenshots. See the Yuribou Hentai Dictionary for terms.

As for your individual selections, Class Reunion Again is quite good, though light on the sex (and oh, for a harem solution to the problem!); Love Lessons is good (all of the sex is ultimately consensual), but could have used a larger budget; and the protagonist in A Heat for All Seasons is a jerk.

The Vanilla Series is a rather clever marketing ploy—it's Digital Works' brand for their hentai anime, most of which is based on erotic games. The quality tends to be mediocre, though series such as Angel Blade bring up the average, while others (especially the early ones) such as Co-ed Affairs bring it down. In large part it depends upon what game the anime is based on.

• F^3: Fun, though there are rapes (done in comedic fashion)

• Sexfriend: More fun, with very good art and animation.

• Tokyo Private Police: all consensual, all the time. Good stuff.

• Darling: Note that all of the "extreme" sex takes place within the context of erotic manga—the story is about a manga artist who agrees to create an anthology of hentai in a month, so the bondage, tentacles, et cetera are not "real", and are treated with a bit of humor.

• Body Transfer: Excellent art and animation, as expected of the studio Green Bunny.

• Mezzo Forte: Again, the sex is not "real"—the first scene is in a dream, and the second

involves a sexbot. The warning about Kite stands, however.

• Akiba Girls: I think Franksta is confused about this—there's no rape that I recall, just a geek getting improbably lucky with several woman.

As for the Tales series, note that Tales of Seduction is not part of the original series (Kōnai Shasei, "Schoolyard Sketches")—it was first issued as U-Jin Brand, and only with its DVD release was it renamed to more closely associate it with The Tales Trilogy (both originate from manga by U-Jin). Perhaps more importantly for your purposes, the second and third stories of Tales of Seduction / U-Jin Brand are about a rapist-for-hire, Toyama the Benbei (though of course all of his victims deserve it).

I generally agree with Loplop's lists (I have not seen all of them, so I can not comment on some), but would like to add a few more obscure titles:

• Angels in the Court: The erotic escapades of a (girls') high school volleyball team and their male coach. This deserved to have longer episodes; original character designs by Akio Watanabe, AKA Poyoyon Rock.

• End of Summer / End of Summer 2 (AKA Doukyuusei Natsu no Owari ni): Unfortunately out of print, and only available in English on VHS, the story of a high schooler's summer, and his growing up. Oh, and the four young women who cross his path...

• First Loves / First Loves 2 (AKA Kakyuusei: My Petty Classmate (sic); incomplete): Also out of print and VHS-only, but worth it.

• My Fair Masseuse (on The Best of Kitty Volume 3): About a sex worker who really enjoys her job.

Some good intros are Koihime (very gentle and sweet but still erotic) and Elven Bride (funny and sweet with some action. Not hardcore). Moonlight Lady was very good, yet fairly tame. You just have to put up with the totally nonsensical plot. I liked it but I'm still stratching my head. Taboo Charming Mother is one of my personal favorites. Its very hot.

ONE ~Kagayaku Kisetsu e~ True Stories (One True Stories)

Watch it.....but play the game first.....or after.....or whatever. The story is fantastic if you understand everything bit for bit.

I haven't compiled a list like the hentai experts on this board, but when it comes to couple friendly hentai, I always have to throw out One:True Stories. Also there is a title coming out in February called "The Invisible Stud", that looks both couple friendly an funny.

If what I've heard about that anime is correct, this title is about an invisible man who uses his status as invisible to spy on, grope, and rape women.

Not exactly "couple-friendly" unless both you and your lover like that kinda thing.
