I'm looking for an old school style super robot show to watch and since I'm a big fan of Takahiro Kimura (GaoGaiGar, Code Geass, GUNxSWORD, Betterman) this could be one I'll like to check out. So how is it?

I thought it was pretty good.

I've heard people say that Godannar is "The Eiken of super robot shows".

Most of female characters have big boobs and the robots the female pilots use have breasts.

Yes, it is. But it a lot more enjoyable than Eiken . . .

Godannar is vastly superior and not retarded like Eiken.

Godannar wins because the sight gags are bit more humorous. Who doesn't want to watch lithe, buxom women pilot heavy machinery? That being said Eiken was more enjoyable as a manga.

It wasn't bad. Super robot show loaded with fan service. The story wasn't bad, I'd say it was decent over all.

The boobs were obnoxiously big. The coolest thing about the show is that it features a husband and wife robot pilot team. Three cheers for monogamy! The way their robots docked to form the big robot was fairly sexual and symbolic of their marital relationship, which was also fairly interesting. That said, the story plot was NOT obnoxious and actually had a fairly nice ending, which most modern-day emo tards who write anime stories are afraid of doing, it seems. (-ahem- EVA -ahem-)

No they weren't. Otherwise half of the gags would have fallen flat . . . . (no pun intended )

Geez, you guys are obsessed with boobs.
I mean, I acknowledged their hugeness, but didn't think that was the main draw (or drawback) of the show. It's just one recurring theme. If you don't like them, why obsess over them so much to say another person shouldn't watch the show because of one aspect of character design you dislike? That's so shallow.
It's a pretty good super robot show. Great comedy, and drama too. Actually has more of a plot than a few shows that get dubbed "classic" super robot shows. I'd recommend it...
...but actually, I haven't gotten round to watching the 2nd half of the series. (I watched the 1st 13 episodes fansubbed, and have only just got the rest on DVD because I was waiting for the singles to go cheap. I'm interested in the extras - the composer interview liner notes and soundtrack recording, especially. Watanabe Chuumei is one of my favourite anime composers, and there are three of my favourite anime song singers singing the OP/ED/insert songs...)

My favorite character is Lou
Shizuru in a close second. "Who the hell do you think I am?"

GoDannar is a good series, it doesn't take itself too seriously and the story was entertaining.
Preferred Luna to Lou (which one was Lou again?), oh and Knight from the british team is awesome.

Under that standard then yes you would enjoy it.
Godannar is a homage to classic super robots that fill with plenty of action, drama, that is not all about monster fighting and enough fanserivce that does not hinder it.
It biggest theme is the issue of relationships it mostly focus on the main couple 1st season but 2nd season second look at other couples and the main couple have to deal with a new problem.
