My group of best friends used to go every year, and I always declined the invite since I just wasn't interested. A few years ago I finally went, and it was miserable. I don't seem to have the right balance/coordination for it (I should have known going in since I can't skateboard either). I spent the entire day on the flatest area I could find trying to work out my balance and stops. They told me to just go up on the hill and I'll learn on the way down, but I was totally against that (I probbaly would've gone right over the edge). So yeah, I've tried it, but won't do it again. Suffice to say though, there are no pics of my grand adventure in snowboarding.

I went once a few years ago. It was easy because of all the years I've been skateboarding. The only really new part was getting in the thing. I could railslide an 8-stair from the get-go, but it took me hours to learn how to work the bindings around my boots.

It's like that with all board sports. I can snowboard, wakeboard, and surf, but I can't do anything with skis. I have some wakeboard pictures on here, but none from the snowboard trip.

I go snowboarding and have a season pass to a hill thats a five minute drive away. I try to make it once or twice a week. I can go down hills just fine, but I can only do some basic tricks.

Your friends were right and you should have just tried a hill, thats the best way to learn.

Yeah I can Skateboard Snowboard really well, but Surfing is a tad bit harder... for me atleast, not use to controlling from the front.

Snowboarding i'll get some big air

Last time I skated I just hit a 10 stair with a kickflip.

I believe if you know how to ski it's difficult to learn how to snowboard and Vise Versa, I've been skiing for about 14 years, however, I've only gone skiing 14 times. (a single skiing trip per year) for the past 2 years I've been trying to learn how to snowboard, It's not that though, I'm getting my own snowboard for Christmas and I'm looking forward to going more frequently.

I can do some snowboarding. I learned that in Alaska they shun the snow haters. Have you been to/heard of Alyeska SB/ski resort? I go there.

Skiis are cool too though, nothing says you can't do tricks on skis, but I want to Conform

Haha, speaking of skiing, my mom and stepdad tried skiing on a really steep hill. Isn't it funny to watch the noobs try to level up?

hey I went to the top of the mountain covered in ice my first day snowboarding, and i managed to survive without a broken neck (catching the edge is so much fun) I want to break my nose doing that one time just to feel the pain of my snowboard training.

I can oblige you with that.

Meh a broken nose from a fist isn't the same as head trauma from natural elements. I'd rather jump off a cliff then jump in the ring.

I kid, Yuki. But cliff-jumping: it's the breakfast of champions.

I took a mini beginners snowboarding lesson two weeks ago. It's a lot of fun, and painful considering I spent more time falling than going down the hill. The instructor was all, "Bend your knees! Bend your kneeesss! Bring your butt down... etc." Nonetheless I'm interested in going again.

I've gone skiing before, but IMO it's not half as fun as snowboarding.
