I am not talking about those stories with weak plotlines and have no soul to it, I am talking about the ones that is underline romance with a great plott line and fasinating story to it. Works by Maggie Shayne, Gene Showalter, Sherlyn Kenyon and Christine Feehan are amazing and all are consider Paranormal Romance writers. Their stories underline on fantasy epics with the romance factor. So I was wondering if anyone read any good romance tales and just chat about it here. :)

I am reading Devil May Cry by Sherlyn Kenyon. This is her latest work for The Dark Hunter series which been around for a long time. This one is about Sin aka Nana, an X God whose on Patheon was destoryed by Artemis of the Greek patheon. Artemis created the Dark Hunters (a little back story) to destory the Apollites aka Damon (sp?) who were created by Apollo. Apollo cursed them when a few of them killed his mistress and son. He cursed them to die at the age of I believe 20 (I forget the exact age) but their was a lope hole. If they obsurbed human souls through the typical vampire way and avoid the sun, they can live forever. So Artemis created the Dark Hunters which are similar to the Appolites (can't walk in sun etc..) but are out to destory them (like a Vampire Hunter) hense the name Dark Hunters. This new book is about Nana and Artemis's Daughter Katra (who is also the daughter of an Atlantien God, who is the leader of the Dark Hunters and hates Artemis but is bounded to her by blood). Anyway katra and Nana most stop the Summerian Gallu (an evil race of demons) from realising the Dimme which can destory everyone including the gods. So it is kind of a romantic adventure story with a few twist. To top it off Artemis (Katra's mother) is responsible for destoring the Summerian gods and destorying Nana and making him an X god. It is kind of an interesting spin off and a good book.

Anyway chat about your favorites here.

I used to like Laurel Hamilton's books, especially the Merry Gentry series, until they all started sounded like cheap porn.

She did go down hill and I have to say I would have enjoyed her but I heard horrible things about her latest works. The graphic novel however is amazing.

I tried to read Anita Blake but I couldn't get past the 'I'm so emo and angst-ridden; look at how everyone wants me' crap.

She is pretty neat in the graphic novel and I didn't find to much angst. I think the vampire association with angst does get annoying. That is why I stray to Maggie Shayne or Kenyon's work. They have more interesting characters that bring great story and even if they get angsty, it is not totally typical of the character. Many of the characters have different emotions and show them in the right situations.

I like vampire fiction but I gotta be in the mood for it, because most of the time, I hate romance novels.

However, changing the subject, have you read Diana Gabaldon? I've read Outlander a few years back and her new series actually sounds like something out of a yaoi manga

I was thinking the same thing about her Anita Blake series. It was good action and a little love then straight up porn ya know. So, her last AB book came out I said, "I'll buy it but if it is like the last, sex filled crap and no plot, book I won't buy her books anymore." And guess what. It had more action and less sex than before so I was happy. Maybe it is starting to look up.

Yeah it is. You didn't know that? lol... Every book is about a romantic situation or two character falling in love that evolves around some tragic event and the entire stories all together.
