Anime Alliance First Meeting
ANIME ALLIANCE, a BRAND NEW ANIME CLUB, will be HOSTING ITS FIRST MEETING

Totally FREE

Food, anime screenings, Magic, DDR, Halo, Mario Smash Brothers, Yu Gi Oh, fellow

anime geeks, and (insert nerdy activities here!)

Held at Henderson TN, in the Senior Citizen's Center

Six to twelve o'clock PM on January 11th!

FREE FREE FREE!! HEAR THAT?!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There, now that I have your attention.

HEWWO! *throws in a kiww da wabbit*

So, we have PREMISES! Which means that we are OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR

BUSINESS!!

If you want more information on the club itself (history and the like), to meet fellows

there, or to meet the Chief Captain Commander Lady Kayleigh (Who will have a button

with that on it, someday, as soon as I get it designed) you can come to our second meet-

and-greet at Books a Million (again) on November 24, from seven to nine PM!

(That is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This is subject to change, 'cos it just occurred

to me that Thanksgiving weekend is a bad time, PLUS, that's my birthday, and I'm

going to appeal to Chief Captain Commander Lady.)

However, information on our FIRST EVAR MEETING!!

It will be on January 11th at the Senior Citizen's Center in Henderson

TN. I'll give directions from Highway 100 and the 75 By-pass (As these are the

most efficient ways to get to Henderson), and if anyone else wants any more directions,

feel free to ask! It starts at six PM and will end at midnight.

That is also subject to change, as I am a dumbass and have forgotten details because I

did not write them down like a good little Rat-Face Officer.

We have Halo, anime screenings, food, D&D, Magic, Yu Gi Oh, whatever other card

game that might exist, DDR, and (insert anime nerdy activity here). This meeting is the

FIRST, and this one will be totally free! It is amazing fun (I speak from

experience) and we want more people to show up!! This is six hours of awesome nerdiness

spent together!

Please come! Bring friends! Lots of friends! Be not afraid! Even if you don't wanna come,

please tell someone else who might!

The meetings will be the second Friday of every month, and fees will be discussed with

Chief Captain Commander Lady Kayleigh, because that is not my job, as I am not

allowed to touch deh moneh.

Also!

You may call the Chief-Captain-Commander-Lady Kayleigh at 731-879-9665

Thank you! *bow*

DIRECTIONS

From HIGHWAY 100:
From Memphis area--head to 100 East. If you can't find it, get a map, or ask the

convenience store near you.

Continue 100 East until you get to Henderson. You will know it is Henderson, because

we have a lovely sign on one side.

There will be an Exxon, a Pizza Hut, a Piggly Wiggly, and a Fred's at a four-way traffic

light. Go straight.

There's another four-way stop, but this one is stop signs. There are three convenience

stores and an open lot. Continue straight.

You will go over a bridge, and through another light. Still go straight.

At the next light, you take a left. (Holy crap.)

You take the first right, after that, onto Second Street, alongside the Really Big Church.

The second parking lot on the right=it! You're there! Yay!

From anywhere to the East (I've BEEN down that length of 100, there is very little,

but I can't doubt small town kids! If you're not sure where you are, check the map at the

bottom.)

Anyway.

From anywhere to the East:
Get to 100.
Go WEST.

Continue West.

Okay, you guys get the hard one.

After long enough of being on the drive, the road will suddenly turn to the left. Brand

new pavement over the road. Now, see, it'll be different from every other time the road

has done that, because it appears to be recent construction, and you will see the lights of

a town right in FRONT of you. But then the road turns. Right after this turn, there will

be a road to the right. If you miss it, just take the next one, there's no bloody difference.

Either way--the road will curve left, or you'll have to turn left on 100/Main Street.

Go straight. You don't get any handy stop signs.

You will pass a Big Star Grocery after a series of fast food joints.

You go forward, up that hill, past the Plaza.

On top of that hill, there are two streets leading off Main Street. Take the one on the

Right.

Take the next Left, onto Second Street.

It will be the first parking lot on the left.

From 45 By-Pass:
Find the 45 By-Pass. Head South.

Continue on this road for a long time.

Yeah, you're still not there.

Not there.

Keeeeep going...

No, that's not Henderson, that's Pinson.

Yeah, that's nothing over there, either.

You'll come to a four-way light at the intersection of 45 and 100. Take a left.

Go straight through two stops, one four-way stop with three convenience stores, and the

traffic lights in the middle of town, next to the bank, over the bridge.

The next light, in front of the college buildings--take a left.

Take the next right, on Second Street.

The second parking lot on the right-- It.

From the South on 45

Find 45 N.

Go north.

For a while.

Then, when you get to the four-way traffic light in Henderson, with the Exxon and Pizza

Hut, take a right.

Go straight through two stops, one four-way stop with three convenience stores, and the

traffic lights in the middle of town, next to the bank, over the bridge.

The next light, in front of the college buildings--take a left.

Take the next right, on Second Street.

The second parking lot on the right-- It.

This is the sort of venue that's just begging to have a couple hundred people in Habbo Nigra attire show up to MST3K the anime selections with memorable lines from Samuel L. Jackson flicks.

Oh, come on, guys, be nice.

The reason we picked the Senior Citizens center (It's NOT a retirement home or anything, it's just a building. They hold girl scouts and crap there.) is because it has a full kitchen, good bathrooms, two side rooms and a main room. So there will be plenty of room, and people that don't want to watch the girly crap or blood can go do what they want to, DDR or Halo or whatnot.

And the people are really cool, the ones I've met.

Sorry... it's just that your OP is really a JOKE. Size 7 font? Not only that, but you're advertising an anime meet-up in TENNESSEE. You have to be careful how you present these types of threads... or no one will take you seriously.

Rat-Face
November 18th, 2007, 05:04 PM
Yeah, well, can't help my location. Tennessee=middle of nowhere, but there are still anime fans out here, and I know this because we had a club here that was going very well until... well, people moved and we dissipated after MTAC anyway.

As for how I'm posting it, maybe constructive criticism instead of mockery? Any suggestions? I don't know what I'm doing, I'm just being really really loud, at this point.

GreatNekoKoneko
November 18th, 2007, 05:11 PM
...constructive criticism? by Jove, that's unheard of in these parts.

Mockery - now, that is normal 'round here.

LD, i still have my costume.

I'm not to sure many people on here live in TN. IIRC, there was or 2 I know of.

Let us know how it turns out!

Rat-Face
November 18th, 2007, 05:14 PM
I believe you. It's getting hard to find nice people these days. Could you at least mock me in ways that make it easier to decipher what I've done wrong?

...you haven't done anything wrong, mate. all just in good fun, yeah.

though everytime i hear Tennessee... (chuckle)

sorry mate. if you were in the tri-state area, i would've hooked you up with some willing people. but alas...

Rat-Face
November 18th, 2007, 07:21 PM
Actually, Tennessee's not as middle-of-nowhere as expected. We've got our own convention, and two more are starting soon, and then there's the fact that Dragon*Con is still only a few hours away from us, and AWA, and stuff.

I don't blame you, though--I was amazed to find out about our convention, too, and even at the club that we managed to found. But, genuinely, if you have friends around me, could you help spread the word? Anyone else, really, could you spread the word, too? Word-of-mouth is our friend, as much as internet ads. In fact, moreso, because word-of-mouth can't be counted as spam and therefore removed from the message boards. ^ ^

goddessofanime
November 18th, 2007, 07:38 PM
I'll give you some advice:

Maybe you should post this in the Convention thread?

Anyway...good luck to you and all that.

TL;DR

Also, what's wrong with Tennessee?

Tidusauron12
November 18th, 2007, 08:05 PM
Also, what's wrong with Tennessee?

Nothing... except that fact that it is as prone to being joked upon as New Orleans is to being flooded. In combination with the way the OP breaks out, the fact that he/she is coming from Tennessee does not help.

You have clearly never been here. ^ ^

Small-town state. We have four big cities, and they're not even that big, either.

Plus... What can be said about a state with towns named things like "Bucksnort" and "Lizardlick"?

Also, to clear up confusion--I'm female. I get mistaken for a boy a lot, but with a name like "Rat-Face", I can't really expect anything different. ^ ^;

Constructive? You have to take something apart before you put it together again. So more mockery! More jokes! Can I prank call your Chief-Captain-Commander-Lady Kayleigh? Cool name, is every rank taken from some anime or computer game? Chief being Halo.

Rat-Face
November 19th, 2007, 02:04 PM
I don't know how many are showing up. Ten to twenty, so far. Depends on how effective my remaining ads are and how her TV interviews go and the other ones advertising go. My job's the online stuff.

As for Kayleigh, please don't crank call her, because that's just uncalled for, and she's working really hard to arrange things. Her title is actually just because I love hyphens. I had a longer one, but I forgot all the words 'cos it was at least ten words long, and the sounds are more fun.

GreatNekoKoneko
November 19th, 2007, 02:37 PM
...that was really smart... puttinh her number on the boards... let the chaos begin.
