View Full Version : Babies Name

K this is the situation my sister always said when she has a baby i can pick his/her name and when she found out she was pregnant i think she started to regret this Lol anyways shes stayed true to her word and today she found out the baby will be a boy so ive got to decide on a name.
The only stipulation she set was that it has to be a Asian name so any suggestions on Asian boys names would be appreciated, at the moment im liking Daichi.

Feel free to crack jokes and play around ^_^ but some serious suggestions are also welcomed.

Is the baby even asian?

Also, which freaking asian country?

Are you Japanese?

Yeah, "Asian names" is too broad a category, you have to narrow it down.

Gorzak the Eviscerator of Hope and Entrails, IV

I vow to never marry, so I pass my hypothetical brood onto you. Feed him raw chicken liver seven times a day and have him weightlift with the carcasses of infidels.

If it isn't an Asian baby, then......WHY give it an Asian name?

I think Seth is a good name, btw.

Lol yes my sister and her BF are both Japanese (well shes half Japanese) so yeah the baby will be too, she wants a Asian name as she said so any Asian name you know that maybe sounds different just suggest.

The only Asian names i know are Japanese or Chinese.

Ok, well I would do a name that has family meaning. Maybe combine some parts of both their names. Maybe name him after a great grandfather, or a mighty mythological or historical figure?

What I suggest doing is to have your sister give him an English first name and a Japanese middle name or a Japanese first name and an English middle name.

I'm half-Japanese, too, but unfortunately, I don't have a middle name, even though I have a Japanese name.

Suggestions: Kaname, Mamoru, Toushirou.

Chiang Kai-shek was badass as well.... But really I wouldn't give my kid a Chinese name (or Viet name). i'd give him a nice Korean name like "James"

Good baby names for a boy:
Vomitboy Monkeychunks
Sporkman Monkeybutt
Vomiting Death Monkey
Purple Spandex Monkey

You can tell I like monkeys. If they need to be asian you can simply translate them.

What is your name? sister name? your family name?
Her fiances name and family name?
If I know that, then I could figure a name out

Koji. I've always considered that name to be somewhat badass.

You should consider some alternative names. In 2003, there were a number of babies named Nevaeh (heaven spelled backwards,) Canon, and Skyy (after the vodka. Boik!) I also know that there is at least one "Xerox" out there.

Or you could go the high road and name him "Cthulhu"

you could go the movie star route..
Apple

Pear.. hah

i'm chinese so i'm not too good with japanese names..

Sorry for double posting.
Maybe splice the names of each of the parents fathers together? Then maybe either give him Kazu or one of your names as a middle name? I would suggest Kazu as the middle name, since it is after his father

Alot of people call me Mizu for short so that would be abit confusing Miuka sounds nice but has a feminine sound to it or maybe its just me, its such a tough thing to decide because the little dudes gonna have that name forever Lol gotta get it right.

That is the trouble I was having, all the combinations of your name, sisters name, and her boyfriends name sounds so feminine. That is why I suggested combinign the two grandfathers names. Or give him the first name of one Gfather, and a middle name of the other.

I think Kenji would be a really good name, and his nickname could be Ken if he chose to go that route.

乾慈

I don't know if you can put these two kanji together, but they spell Kenji and it basically means "Heaven's love".

I hear "Noble" is a good name in any language. I know I got the luck of getting named as such.

As for Japanese names...I like Nanaya Shiki/Shiki Tohno, a character from the series "Tsukihime", although I have no idea what it means and the symbolism may not be what one should attach to one's kid. -_-;

Other than that, I've thought of naming my own kid "Tod". Why such a bland name? Well, in German, it means "Death". The things you can come across...

利口 Rikou - clever (That way he could also be called Rico Suave)
論理 Ronri - logic (Ronri, I'm so ronriiiii~ Ok, maybe not)
石綿 Ishiwata - asbestos (Whaaat? It sounds pretty cool until you know what it means)

Ok, maybe I'm not good at this.

Ryusuke....he can shorten it to Ryu and doesn't Ryu mean 'dragon'? Or is it Ryosuke? Either way, I like those names.

That reminds me, Kyosuke is a pretty good name as well, provided people pronounce it properly and not like an English dubbed anime would pronounce it.

"shi" is baaaaaaad medicine, though.

Yeah Shiki can also mean "time of death" and other "death" related things.

Yeah Shiki can also mean "time of death" and other "death" related things.

"Shi" is "death" or "die," which is why they use "yon" for the number four, not "shi," out of concern for potential curses and voodoo magicks.

My last name is Stevens so I should know what would sound good.

Ken Stevens is a great name. I might have to name my own son that (assuming I have a son, assuming I find a wife, assuming a girl will look twice at me).
