View Full Version : Christmas plans/wishes

So after seeing some people mention the holidays, and see that, the day after halloween, the stores go all out for Xmas, i decided to ask the ANites what they are planning and wanting for the holidays.
I have no idea what is going on with either side of my family. It sucks having a split family, cause they always make plans at the same time, and expect me and my brother to show up the whole time. =/

I don't even care what I get anymore. I would've asked for a new computer, but considering how much smoother my current one runs, it probably wouldn't be necessary. And there's not really a lot of anime that interest me anymore, either. So all I'm really asking for this Christmas is to see my local Wal-Mart go down in flames.

the best thing I have gotten is the Kino's Jounry boxset from my mom. I had to specifically ask for it, and she was pissed about it. The whole "cartoon" thing.
I want an airbrush compressor this year, but everyone has already done their shopping before even finding out what I like.
My family really doesn't care anything about any of my hobbies =/

I asked for a motocompo off of ebay but my mom refused to spend that much on something for me. Instead they bought more cars to fix up and sell

It's too early to tell...I mean we've just made arrangements for Thanksgiving! Lol. One holiday at a time. I remember when I worked for Safeway they'd play Xmas music from the day after Thanksgiving, to the first of the year! I'm glad I don't work there anymore. I had enough Xmas to last me a lifetime. Lol.

^ I know. The day after Halloween, everyone plans for Xmas. What happened to thanksgiving? it is like the lost holiday!
Pretty soon it will just be "That one holiday a month before Christmas"

I've started my christmas list and taken gift requests to see what to get other people. I'll be having a big family thing for christmas day, but for christmas eve, I just stay home with my immediate family. There's usually snow, a fire, and early gift exchange.

Then 3 days later is my Bday.

Special Christmas sex of course!

Actually me and my GF are going to New York for the Holidays. :)

I don't really care about Christmas very much. I only like the charming nighttime atmosphere of late december when there are lights on the houses and a cold silence in the air.

I don't like getting presents because then I feel that I owe something in return.

I have to work on Christmas this year. But on the other hand, my paycheck will be NIIIIIIICCCCCCCEEEEE as I get paid triple from what I normally make.

I'll be doing what I do every Christmas. In the morning my family exchanges gifts with each other. Then by 11am or noon, we go to my Aunt's house and meet with every relative on my mom's side. In the evening, we go to my Grandma's (dad's side) apartment and meet with her and my uncle.

As for what I want, this year I'm actually asking for clothes instead of money, videogames or books/manga, etc. I don't have any stylish shirts, and I haven't bought any new clothing for myself in a couple years besides the occasional anime/band tee from Hot Topic.

It's quite obvious what I want for Christmas. *sigh*

But seeing as that's never going to happen, I would like that kick-*** new video camera that you can take video and stream it live over the internet with. KICK-***.

Same.

For Christmas I would like a 360 GH3 + axe, a 2-gig memory stick for my MP3 player/ phone, and money for condoms. As for plans, I intend to work my *** off over the break. I need the monies for the 2008 school year.

Like Chikyuu Senshi, my girlfriend and I just finalized Thanksgiving plans but I'm pretty sure the Christmas schedule this year will look like this:

Wake up, drink coffee. Go over to girlfriend's parents for Christmas dinner. Go with her to my parents for Christmas dinner (again) for more presents. Drink lots of egg nog. So long as I get to spend some time with her, I'm good.

What do I wan this year? Probably gonna ask for some computer books and parts. I'm giving my parents a computer, so I need to replace the one I am giving them.

But who knows what the schedule will look like. Usually we get together with a bunch of friends for a Christmas party (excuse for getting trashed) so I am hoping we get to do something like that this year.

1) Give g/f her present (which it's kind of hard to do in person, what with a several hundred mile distance between us).
2) Laze about and play games and whatnot.
3) Pray that my family, who does ask for a list of stuff I want for birthday/Christmas every year (and tends to get at least 3-4 items off it every time)...continues to do that. I gave them a list this year too, but you never know.
4) Eat. And drink. Oh, and some more eating. Did I mention I'd be downing a lot of food and drink? Cause I will be. [/plans to finish Christmas dinner by himself]

Well, I'm not expecting much this year, since my dad's present is my car insurance and my mom doesn't want to deal with presents this year (saves me money too.) Other than that, I'm going down to Alabama to spend X-Mas with my mom and some other family members, and will probably drag my laptop and Wii down there. My family is taking a vacation in Florida, so I'll have the place to myself for a couple days when I get back.

Triple?!?! Man, what kind of top teir job do you work. The only thing promised to me for working on X-mas day is my job...

If I don't work for Christmas, I guess me and my Girlfriend will go to Rockefeller center to see that tree they always have there. I've seen it countless times, but this years it my girlfriends first Christmas in America, so I'm a try to make it as special as I can...or what my wallet allows me, either or.

As for what I want, I must be funny 'cause I honestly never expect anything from no one since I'm a hard person to shop for. I don't care for for material things, and if I do, I most likely already have it since I'd end up buying it myself. I always prefer to give gifts than to receive them.

The first sentence spawned countless memories of Pinky and the Brain...and then you let me down by not finishing the quote. =/
Off Topic: I was just watching Pinky and the Brain the other day and I was plesently surprised as to how funny and intelligent the writing was. Kid's today don't know good cartoons :(

Seeing as how I'm the main breadwinner in my family now, I'm planning on giving my mom the money to go and get her legal status sorted out with myself acting as a sponsor (25 years without formalized legal status is hard on someone.) As for material things, I'm handling furnishing the house she lives in with a new fridge, washer/dryer, new TVs and fixtures for the bathroom.

I don't really want much, since I can get what I want easily and don't really care about the material aspect of Christmas. I would much rather spend it with friends that I care about.

Well, I guess this is te first Christmas I actually have a boyfriend (my last two relationship ended usually around the summer time) and our 6 month anniversary is a couple of days before Christmas, it would be nice to go on a Christmas date.

But otherwise, this is my Christmas schedule: Get up around 6-7 AM, open present, play videogames, go downstairs to aunt and grandma's house to eat Christmas dinner and then play videogames until bedtime.

Hopefully somewhere between mid-December and January 1st, I would have the opportunity to give gifts to my friends. I'm already prepared to feel that finanical a**kicking Christmas usually gives me.

I actually don't know what I want for Christmas outside a few videogames and a Wii. Well, I really, REALLY want this Hitman Reborn yaoi doujin anthology I've been eyeing for weeks. I guess I can give it as a Christmas gift to myself. LMAO.

Me, I'm probably working on christmas eve, then christmas day, we'll be having a family get together right here in my apartment, it'll be pretty fun. Oh and at work, I plan on doing something for the kids that come in,(I'm a CDT manager at a resturant) maybe dress up as Santa and give out little presents.

Mainly, an opportunity to be able to get money flowing in like Axl X. Or so I can wish.

What I'll most likely get is books and other material paraphernalia which are nice to get. The difference this time is that I'm the one with money and the rest of my family were the spenders. So I'll be able to give more than usual, which is a nice change of pace from the last Christmases.

This is actually going to be the first Christmas living alone. Although my girlfriend lives down the street, I had always been living with my parents, until these past couple of months. My mother and I didn't exactly see eye to eye on a lot of things. Its good I am on my own. I am just looking forward to sitting in my place and enjoying the cold air. I am not going over to my parents due to the relatives that are going to be there and I don't want to be a burden at my girlfriends. So I figure I buy myself a gift, play pokemon, and enjoy wearing some sweatshirts. I might even go walking along the riverwalk.

As far as presents go, I have told everyone I know not to buy me anything from Best Buy. Its the worst company in the whole world. So I might not get anything this year. Since I not able to afford to get my girlfriend what she really wants, I have given the suggestion to my parents that is what I would like so I can then in turn give it to her. Nothing makes me happier than to make her smile.

So essentialy its going to be a very quite and peacefull christmas and if I decide to spoil myself I might even make me a ham sandwich for my Christmas dinner.

Ya know when I posted that, I said "Be careful what you wish for, Kiyomi may quote you"

Well the middle agged asian woman would come home from her hard day at the Nike Factory, and I'd rub her feet while she relaxes with some hot coco and tells me how her day went.

ii) Organising the Chrsitmas curry we always have.

iv) Possibly going to the Czech Republic for a week or so, and then Poland, staying in my mate's dacha. Ought to be awesome.

I told my dad that if he bought me a new notebook, I'd shave my hair bald. He called me up last night and said he bought one so I better spend the last days of my long hair with joy and glee. I said that he better bring it home for the holidays and if he does, he earns the right to shave me of my crowning glory.

Now I feel goosebumps the size of China running down my bones. I haven't shaved my hair bald ever. >_<

On spending the holidays, maybe sleeping out the nine dawn masses, watch some anime before heading to my grandma's for a mini-reunion. Then play games all night till morning. These happen every year, I'm kind of getting tired of it.

Each year we do the same thing....go to my grandpa's on Christmas Eve, and on Christmas day we wake up and open presents. Each year it becomes more and more boring and more of a chore than a fun time. Everyone argues about who is gonna decorate the tree and when the holidays are over, we literally put the tree in a trash bag and stuff it in a closet.

Not much gift buying goes on unless it's between me and my brothers. My parents just give us cash. Not that that's a bad thing, of course. I love $$$$.

I'm wondering if my boyfriend will want to spend time with me.....if I'm still with him, that is. :uhh:

Meh, same as everyyear. Go to one grandparent's house, have a few sammiches, Open presents, say "Yayyyy......" and then go to the next one's. We open the presents there, and yayyyyy again. Next morning, when "Santa" comes, the presents get opened. After at about noon, we head to my grandmother's house for a dinner. After, we head over to the other one's house (Once in every few years) and eat dinner there too. After all that is done, I walk home, and they stay for the overnight festivities.

That is it.

...wow. dawn masses. how nostalgic. the ones i had back in the Philippines were made of win because of one thing - the food stalls after the service.
