OK... that is sily, so the undies rip apart instead, I've seen wegdies so atomic that the undies ripped before, then you have to go through the day with ripped pants. Now they need to take a cue from South Africa and their flame thrower anti-hijack car system.

That's the best they could come up with? In elementary school, I rubbed my underwear on the backs of poison dart frogs everyday before school, similar to how South American tribes would do with their spears. I never went on any talk show.

I'm an American, and I have only seen wedgies in TV and movies. The only stories I've ever heard a bout real people getting wedgies were from my stepdad's days as a boy scout (it wasn't him, it was always some poor sap walking through the woods at the wrong time).

I've got fast enough reflexes* that I've never been given a wedgie, but I've personally witnessed them given to those less fortunate than I. There used to be an old metal hook on the outside wall of my elementary school (Why? No idea.) and I've seen kids hung up on the wall by their own underpants on at least two separate occasions. This was referred to as "an atomic wedgie" in my schoolyard's vernacular.

EDIT: I see that there's even a Wiki article about wedgies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wedgie), and that the "atomic wegie" of my youth should actually have been classified as a "hanging wedgie".
