Remote access to your music/video collection, support for creating playlists that you can share with your friends (the bastards didn't just make it so you could share your whole library), and ability to check out your friends' playlists.
Good? Bad? Who cares?
The catches:
You gotta have the remote enabled on your home computer
It streams directly from your machine, so if you gotta sucky connection, best stay away
You have to have an account for it to work
And I hate laptops.
BTW: Why don't we have a tech section? Or do we but I just can't see it?

Winamp Remote is a fancy name for Orb. The only connections that can handle it right now are HSPA and EVDO Rev. A for cellphones, Cable and FiOS for home. I use it on my cellphone with a symmetrical 50/50 FiOS connection and its better, not to mention cheaper than a Slingbox.
