Anyone else think it's terribly funny how 4chan's been offline all weekend? I've been having many lols at the expense of anonymous.

These days I only go to /c/ which is easily replaceable with other things (most particularly the first Galaxy Angel game). Not much loss for me.

They always had trouble paying for their servers and of course there's the possibility of legal trouble. I discovered 4chan a while back, but I've not really looked at the boards in... nearly a year. There's nothing there for me, except the occasional famitsu scan or stuff like that. It soon propagates to the better parts of the internet.

With that having been said, I experimentally typed in the URL just now, and it works just fine. I took a quick look at /v/ (videogames) just since I was there, and it's no different to the last time I looked... so I left.

It's working though, if you actually happen to enjoy the site. Personally it wouldn't make any difference to me if it stayed offline forever. I got bored of it about, oh, about five minutes after I found it? The reputation kept me going back for a while to see what was so epic, but the answer seems to be... not much that would interest me. -_-;

People kept wondering if they got in the FBI party van. Turns out there was some guys on an irc channel that wanted #4chan to switch to their server and when Moot refused they attacked 4chan with what's called a DDoS or distributed denial of service where they hit 4chan with so many ping requests it literally took the servers down. Moot pulled the plug.

Call me crazy but the last thing I would EVER want to do is piss off Anonymous, whoever is responsible for that DoS attack is gonna pay pretty badly. Though the lols may have been worth it.

Likewise. I used to spend all my time there until I realized what a waste of time it really is. Not to mention seeing some members on here always using 4chan memes in their posts like Animenation was 4chan just made me sick of it. Thus those people basically went straight on my ignore list. People will never use proper English on the internet as long as they can, they been doing that before 4chan and after. It's basically a fact of life now. Plus it keeps the worst of the Internet in one place, /b/.

I admit I lurk on /a/ and /y/ and sometimes /cm/ for some awesome fanart collecting. Did I miss it? Only because of the Dumbledore thing... but then again, maybe it was best that 4chan was down during that hoopla. 4chan is pretty tolerable late at night and you can engage in decent conversation without too much of the name-calling but I can live without /a/, I would miss /y/ mostly for those hard to get doujins you can find easily there.
