Claymore Question (possible spoilers)

I just finished the Claymore anime, and I thought it was pretty good. Although the anime sorta left off hanging at the end, I thought it was well done. Is there going to be a second season by any chance? And also, I'm sure the manga has gone past the anime. Can anyone tell me where the anime leaves off in accordance to the Manga?

No idea if/when there's going to be a second season; the anime actually deviates quite a bit from the manga (for example, there was no Priscilla fight...yet).

Anyway, Vol.10 starts the major deviations. There's some minor hints here and there to later things in Vol.9, and while it's nowhere near required, I enjoyed reading it and catching up. The manga is currently on Chapter 73 (four Extra Scenes, which are like omake, but better), and 74 releases in November.

there are actually major deviations during the last 2 or 3 eps. it basically makes it so that the manga can't really be followed by the anime any more.

anyways, i got around to dling the extra chapters, i expected them to be bad, but i was surprised that they were actually worth my while.

I mentioned before that after all is said and done, the anime actually ended with everything except the relative power levels of the world powers being the same as the manga pre time gap, and raki is with claire instead of isley.

End of anime:
Priscilla is still alive and with isley and he plans to go south
Org is still the same
The claymores from the north are believed to be dead
They are rebelling

Now raki is with claire but thats no big deal. The slashers are splitting up and the other 3 survivors from pieta are not in the anime. This can easily be remedied with a few explanation episodes of what happened off screen during the volcano scene, and what happened after the season left off (i am sure someone went back to the city to see what happened during that time/bury their comrades...like maybe the awakened army isley left behind took out all the remaining survivors except the three we need for the seven?). The slashers/seven could meet back up at anytime during the time gap (maybe after miria found something about the org or something). All in accordance with the manga.

The biggest difference is that priscilla is too weak and claire is too strong, but they could easily explain that away (priscilla was just scared/mental and couldnt defend herself properly), and claire no longer seeks revenge (doesnt mean she wont decide that priscilla needs to be eliminated afterall for the safety of the world..etc).

So yeah, a second season isnt likely but it is certainly possible.

i would read vol 10 if I could find a borders locally that has it >_<
