View Full Version : Firefox Troubles

When using firefox, a good number of websites end up looking all jumbled up, quite a lot like these two examples:

Do I need a fresh install? I have the latest version of firefox and those websites work perfectly in Internet Explorer (IGN and Facebook).

Looks fine in Firefox to me. I've only tested IGN though, because you wouldn't expect to find me on a social networking site.

That's odd indeed. I would definitely try reinstalling Firefox.
Facebook looks fine for me in Firefox 2.0, Opera 9.23, and ... well I'm not going to open IE but it probably works.
because you wouldn't expect to find me on a social networking site.
Really? I had you pegged as quite the chatty Cathy.

Well maybe, but I'm a little on the selective side. I prefer to talk to people I already know through forums and such. The whole idea of social networking seems to be to make friends just on the basis that they are looking for friends and you are looking for friends. That seems pretty vacuous to me.
I'd rather establish a rapport over something interesting like anime or gaming and then make it personal later.

Oh, Soluzar's a chatty Briton, alright. Only on AIM and forums, though. :P

Try reverting to the default theme. That could be what's giving you trouble. If that doesn't work launch Firefox in it's safe mode. Make sure Firefox is not running (sometimes FF still runs even if you closed it). Click start>run and type firefox -safe-mode. What the options do can be found here. Or, if you have adblock, make sure you didnt accidentally add the site to the list of things to block. I did that once, took me forever to figure out why I couldn't see anything.....

Did both of the above, and I even performed a fresh install of the latest version, but it still has the same error. Oh yeah and Jatz, that was the default theme you were viewing.
This is weird, I don't really feel like abandoning firefox, because it works fine on my older PC that has 4 years of age on it.;)

Are you using 3.0? I haven't tried it on Tiger, is it stable yet? (I say yet since I heard bad stuff about it when it first came out)

I saw the brushed metal and thought you you added one.
