I can't help but be unoriginal and vote for Kyoko, damn me. But I do like Asuna because I like the shy types, thought she was cute.
I wonder if Yagami will get any votes....

Akemi she grew on me. Was kinda dissapointed her and Mitaka didn't hook up but I'm glad that Asuna got him in the end.

I guess it would be Kyoko since so much revolves around her. Especially when she starts to show her argumental, stubborn, jealous side. She seemed too perfect at first which is something I'm never a fan of. But she's one feisty women. The time Godai didn't come home till the morning hours all plastered and she burned his coupons makes die laughing each time. The way she often puts of a phony smile even though she's twitching with anger is priceless. You never really know what you're going to get with her. She's so hard to deal with and that's what makes her very realistic to me.
Yo Levon, do you not like Yagami or something? :|

She was too pushy. Like a stalker. -_-;
(Although if I was a teacher I'd go for a high school girl....;))

Have any of you ever see the TV Show Monk? I catch an episode every so often when I'm bored, but I remember this one distinctly because it was really funny. "Mr. Monk and His Biggest Fan". Yagami kind of reminds me of that character played by Sarah Silverman.

I never watched the show but my dad told me about that episode since he likes the show.
If only Sarah Silverman would stalk me.

Ichinose makes me laugh.
She's my second favorite. The most nosy anime character I can think of. She thrives on it. My fondest memory of her is when the gang goes on vacation, she gets drunk (of course) and topples over into a sliding door. She breaks the damn door even and is still doing the classic laugh. Give her a few seconds and she'll get back up weaving though fans around. :)

100% truth. I appreciate her presence though since she brought a lot to the table. She's one of those really annoying characters, yet I don't mind her at all because she helped progress the story and made for some hilarious situations. I'd hate her if I was Godai though...

My fav is Kyoko. She had her flaws but her good points such as never giving up on Godai and keeping those lousy tenants under control (well sorta) out weighed all of the messed of things she did. My second fav is Ibuki, I really liked her character mainly because she exposed truths that failed to be exposed before she came into the show.
As for the other characters: Kozue was dumb as hell, Akemi and Ichinose were drunk for most of the show(they had good inputs at times though), and Asuna was way too shy for her own good. I am too but when it comes time to speak I speak.

Kyoko Otonashi got my vote. I just enjoyed watching her character through out the series. I agree with those that said that she's not perfect but that did made her more "realistic". most of my favorite scenes had her in it. Of course the voice actress helped a great deal in my vote as well:) "Gambatte kudasai, ne!
Ichinose comes in a close second mainly for the laughs and smiles.

Kozue-chan, the one that should have ended up with Godai..
For deeper explanation see here (www.animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=207248)

edit - Asuna rocks too, I really love the shy types, she plus Mitaka is the best match.

Are you in a different dimension?-_-;
So you'd rather have Kozue with Godai even though he diddn't love her? Kozue was just a friend and she really diddn't seem all that serious about Godai or else she wouldn't have got engaged with someone else.
In the end it all worked out for the best.

I just can't agree that Kozue and Godai are good for one another. Your vote makes it clear that you like her and normally it's easy for one to root for who they like most. I think the path Godai and Kyoko went through wasn't an ideal one, but it works. There is no "should have" in love is there? You can't control that stuff. Godai loved Kyoko for years and vis versa although she didn't want to admit it for the longest time (and we know why). When it was all said and done it just seemed right with an 'at last!' feeling. They are very flawed but nobody is perfect. Others got hurt in the process, but that's not the subject matter here. It's one thing to want something to happen and another to feel it should have.

And those people ended up happy. Everyone is happy at the end^_^

Heh, I get that... a lot, not just about MI, about other shows as well... I guess I just see things a little bit different then other people, for better or worse...
So you'd rather have Kozue with Godai even though he diddn't love her?
I mean hypothetically. Of course Godai was fully in love with Kyoko, but if at some point, he would switch to Kozue-chan and ended up with her, I believe he would have been way happier.
Kozue was just a friend and she really diddn't seem all that serious about Godai or else she wouldn't have got engaged with someone else.
Just a friend?... Maybe for Godai, for her, she truly believed that she's Godai's girlfriend, and you can't say that she didn't act to get him (she introduced him to her parents for example, it isn't something she would do a mere friend that she wasn't serious about). About her engagement I explained very well in the last thread, it was mostly out of desperation (because of Godai's obvious none-caring about her), and little bit of jealousy and anger (cause of Akemi's incedent).. Read that thread a linked above, I explained it very well right there. The bottom line, she was dead serious about him, of course if he wouldn't be so blindly in love with Kyoko, and think reasonably he would put the 2 and 2 together, and figure out that madly in love, pretty Kozue wins out, Kyoko with her issues and "Soichiro-san always in first place" stuff, in every aspect.
In the end it all worked out for the best.
For whom? Read that thread I linked to. I really don't want to repeat the same stuff that's been said.
I just can't agree that Kozue and Godai are good for one another.
Unlike Levon, you did participate in that thread so I really thought that you would understand why I feel that way, and even if you can't agree you would see where am I coming from.
Tell me just one thing, why you can't agree that Kozue and Godai are good for one another?
Godai loved Kyoko for years and vis versa
Kyoko loved Godai for years? I'm sorry but it's ********, it really is. She loved Soichiro, and even in the end, she thought about him, Godai is the *extra*... It took how long.. about 5 years, for her to decide, to be with him, it's a little bit long for some one who's in love don't you think? And it's even after all the other people helping them to hook up.. (specially Yagami, she did a great job in getting Godai and Kyoko together, perhaps better then anyone else)

Where did I say that I didn't understand you? I said I didn't agree. Two very separate things. As for your question for me it's this simple. It's not that they are BAD for one another, it's that it was a lost cause. It's not as bad for Godai (who doesn't care), it's bad for Kozue because she's just wasting her damn time. That relationship was never going to amount to what she wanted out of it. Last time I checked it took two to tango.

You're leaving out the part about how stubborn Kyoko is. She wasn't in love with him right away, but she was obsessed with him! She used the "because I'm the kanrinin" excuse forever when we know for a fact that she didn't know what was going on with any of the others. It takes a long time to get over the loss of a loved one. Even longer for her since Soichiro was her first love. But she had feelings for Godai and treated him special even if she didn't realize it herself. Sure, Yagami beat a lot of it out of her, but it was there to be tapped into for a very long time.
Groove, just a piece of advice. Your posts feel very much like retaliation which isn't needed since neither of us are attacking you. Try and loosen up a bit man. Maybe that's just your style of writing and if so then scrap what I just said.

Yes, sadly, it is true, foolish Godai.
It's all neutralizing the "she wasn't serious" statement, Levon made by the way.

I can't disagree here, while she certainly gave him a lot more attention then other tenants it doesn't reject what I've said, about him number two and all.
It takes a long time to get over the loss of a loved one.
Agree, only that she never got over it, even in the end. Thats the difference that makes the world.

It's partly due to my style but mostly because I'm regular to be attacked because of my way of seeing things, so it's a mere reflexes ^_^
But point taken, I'll try to be less aggressive in the future ^_^

This right here I agree with maybe not to the same extent and you, but it's the feeling I get none the less. It's a very realistic situation that anyone in it has to deal with. It's more of a test of time sort of thing. I probably wouldn't believe a person (in Godai's situation) if they said they didn't ever think about that. Even though everything can be great, there are some things you just can't replace. But if we're talking hypothetically, I think they can over come this. I have nothing to really back that up. Just the feeling I get because of how extended time passing by can change the way you feel about things.

Kyoko Otonashi all the way!! I just liked how mature and feminine she is sometimes. I mean, compared to other female protagonists, she is way so mature. I am glad she and Godai ended up together.
For some reason, Kyoko and Godai remind me of Kyosuke and Madoka from KOR.

I really like Yagami. She's a stalker along with all those negative things, but she's the only character in the series strong enough not to submit to Kyoko.
The story line seems to be hint that she'll be very much like Kyoko when she grows up.
