I like rock, alternative, and funk. Overall it really matters about the beat to me as long as it is instruments. Other than that I am pretty open to everything, glad to see another person out there expressing their musical tastes^_^

i like classic rock and some heavy metal. but most of the stuff on my iPod is classic rock. i really gotta get Working Man by Rush (i think thats the name). which proves that besides 2112 they are capable of being awesome with guitars.

I used to like Alternative, but it died. Only band I still like are the Offspring. All the other bands I used to like went and disappointed me in one way or another.

i tried alternative, and i tried punk. they left me unsatisfied. then i used my radio with a TV cable attatched to it to search for Ozzy and Black Sabbath and i discovered metal.:smokin: thank God for that station. now the station started playing new crap and boring stuff so i dont listen to it a lot anymore.

I love rock music.

Unfortunately I don't get a lot of credibility from the "indie" or "hip" crowd because of my tastes. I'm more into the pop-ish heavy rock. Type O Negative, Mushroomhead and Tool are by far my top 3.

I pretty much only listen to Heavy/Power/Folk metal. A bit of classic rock here and there, but other than that, not much. I'm known for being extremely close minded with my musical tastes. I even have a shirt that says "I hate the bands that you like". I can't stand emo and I don't like too much gothic.

Indeed, though I gotta admit Working Man REALLY works well live(long-time fan here, seen them in concert 3 times & have all but 3 of their albums)....:naughty:

Definitely get Rush's early albums. Great stuff!
And if you don't mind something a bit different, like "art rock", try Emerson, Lake, and Palmer's Tarkus album, and their Brain Salad Surgery album. Enjoy!....

Yeah it does. I finally got to see them on the Snakes and Arrows Tour. It was awesome even for the lawn. I laughed my *** off to the South Park Tom Sawyer intro. "I'm Geddy Lee and I'll sing whatever the hell I want!"

I mostly listen to a wide variety of heavy metal but also some classic rock. My preference is the more dark, heavy and blues stuff. For metal I like gothic, doom, black, folk, power and symphonic. I don't like emo though.

I'm listening to Deep Purple's -Child in Time- as I type this. Ian Gillan can wail.

i forgot about that song! its long, but a bunch of it is - plain and simple - f*cking awesome!! awesome guitar.

also, i dont like Pink Floyd *grabs dad's shotgun and braces for attack*, but i really like 'Shine on you Crazy Diamond Parts I through V'. does anyone know how long that thing is????

and i guess im just used to the Rush that they play on the radio. much like people judge Metallica on just whats on the radio and not their first three albums. and where did the name of the song "Red Barchetta" come from? i have an idea, but im not sure.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe a Barchetta was a Ferrari from the 50's or 60's....

Pink Floyd's best stuff, to me atleast, is their early stuff. From their psychedelic songs up through Dark Side of the Moon. The later albums I don't really care for....

Hello again xD

I'm an Evanescence fan, ever hear of Amy Lee?

I'm also a fan of Creed, but I don't know where exactly they'd be in the scheme of things.

that was my guess. i am a Ferrari otaku (japanese def.), so it hit me one day. however Barchetta in Italian means "little boat" (which people thought it looked like), but since its RED Barchetta, i thought Ferrari.

i know somebody who went to two Pink Floyd concerts back in the 70s. she said that during certain songs the amount of pot smoke went up a lot. one minute it wasnt AS bad and then something like Dark Side of the Moon comes on and it just filled Madison Square Garden with smoke. HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET ALL OF THAT SMOKE OUT OF THERE!?

the other one was Giants Stadium, which was outside so it just went into the air.

You should definately listen to La Villa Strangiato, all it really contains is orgasmic
guitar. Yes Red Barchetta is about a car. I would obviously suggest seeing rush for the weird stage shows. Not to mention that they play for 3 ****ing hours!
