Konan witnesses this scene.

She notifies Pain, who says "I see... Jiraiya-Sensei..."

The spoiler provider informs us that Pain's body is not unlike the "kid with the nasty look in his eyes" who appears in the picture of Jiraiya's former team.

Pain tells Konan to lead him to Jiraiya, but that she's free to kill him before he gets there.

子南が自来也に仕掛けるが「蝦蟇平影操りの術」で回避

Konan attacks Jiraiya, but he dodges it with a toad jutsu (the name of which I don't understand.)

自来也「術のキレも良くなったが　いい女にもなったのオ・・・子南」

Jiraiya: "Not only have you gotten better with your jutsu, but you've grown into a mighty fine woman as well, Konan."

This last line appears clearly legible on the spoiler picture.

Apparently the image that show's Pein v2.0 in the Deidara look-a-like body, the chat bubble says "Jiraiya-sensei, huh?", so I guess it's pretty safe to say Konan and Pein were Minato/Yondaime's teammates and Jiraiya's students.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Minato was from another village which makes Pein, Konan, Yondaime a former team of three.

Well at least we know what happen to the other students. But taking on two of your students who look as gifted as Minato is going to be tough. Konan i would try to take out with a Fire jutsu while she is using that paper technique and Pein with that look a like body don't know. I thought that it was Deidara at first but the number of piercings and im sure the other bodies are the same. I don't think Pein was a part of Jiraiya team because the other boy is a little darker, unless he switched bodies but without his eyes open we can't tell yet.

That really looks like Deidara. I suspect he's body switching, although given Deidara there's no way it's his actual body. But then that only makes sense if he was using Yondaime before. If he can shape those bodies in anyone's likeness and hop into them it'll be interesting to see which other ones he winds up using. Maybe they're all the Akatsuki members.

I read RAW today. I beileve that was Deidara, however, he have lots of piercings. The interesting part is that Konan and Pein were Minato's teammates and Jiraiya's students.

anyways, if tobi is madara, it's quite possible that Itachi didn't kill off his clan for no reason.
Madara is still stronger than itachi so who knows what they've been plotting for a reformation of the clan or something like that. dunno, I can't wait to see the fight.

I feel really sorry for Jiraiya. I haven't got the slightest idea who those two might be. It might be Yondaime's teammates it might not dunno.

Minato didn't have a water mask, did you mean Hanzo? How can Ibiki deal with Pein? Unless he has some special technique that will make Pein talk i doubt it, just looking at the two bodies he has used he just might enjoy the torture. Naruto better be ready to kick Sasuke's @ss or he's going to be in trouble, he had an excuse the first time but nothing holding him back now.

I've thought since his reveal that perhaps Madara is more spirit/embodiment than physical person. What I mean to say is, while the original body of the actual Madara may be long gone, perhaps he (his Sharingan) was so powerful that his spirit can come forth in any one of the Uchiha clan who attains a certain "level"; the one to become strongest (in terms of Sharingan) will be taken over by and thus become Madara. Itachi, knowing this, wiped out the Uchiha clan to narrow down who Madara shows up in next. Maybe it was Itachi's plan, for the "greater good", to wipe out the Uchiha expect for Sasuke, who Itachi feels would be the only one capable of destroying Madara (should Madara arise within himself). Now, if I were to assume that Madara's presence right now is currently embodied in Obito (using the name Tobi), then maybe he just didn't have a choice and is biding his time in the body of an Uchiha who was available to him and was thought dead by everyone else. Maybe Itachi is only in the Akatsuki because he's looking for Madara (but probably doesn't know he's Tobi), which would explain his lack of interest/conviction in taking out Naruto. Maybe Itachi is purposely leaving Naruto so that, if Madara was to take over Itachi, and Sasuke kills Itachi, and then Madara moves over to Sasuke, Naruto would kill (save?) Sasuke, thus leaving no more Uchiha's left for Madara to appear in. Which makes defeating Madara the ultimate goal of the series. I don't know if Kishimoto planned that much ahead when he started Naruto, but maybe it can work out that way...

Feel free to shoot holes in this theory, I'm not swearing by it.

Ok, I'm taking aim...
just kidding, that's a very interesting theory. I was thinking that the Uchiha clan had a purpose that was contraindicative of the greater good of Konoha, and that he was trying to get the clan back on track by killing most of his clan and weeding out the ones who had conformed. I'm pretty sure I saw Madara at one point in time, so I don't think he's Tobi.
Here's the great thing, my theory cannot be shot full of holes since it's already full of them!

You mean Rain ninja, not Pein.

MY mistake, i wonder if the Pein's new body has the same abilities as Deidara had. Could it be an improved version of his Shapeshifting Technique and the current AK member are using clone bodies of themselves instead of their originals so Pein can keep their abilities to use when they die.

The girl in the team looks like she may be Konan, however, the other boy looks like someone different. Pein does have the ability to transfer bodies however so who knows. Although this is from the anime and shouldn't be considered cannon it's still something to look at.

or maybe, its neither XD seriously other than the hair, which is similar to Deidara's but looks a lot longer (how'd Deidara grow his hair out in the time-frame of a day or 2? XD), this doesn't look anything like deidara, the mouth and eyes are totally different, though maybe its just because he doesn't have Deidara's big grin on his face. Hidan I might be able to see, he is immortal and invincible in that he can't be killed, and it has been a while since Shikamaru beat him so maybe Pein did grab Hidan's body and use it, but in my opinion this doesn't look like Hidan either. I think its just a new body, or the one that has history with Jirayai.
