I'm taking this with a grain of salt since Lupe has a habit of overloading himself with work. It may be that he needs a good break from doing anything before making such a statement, or it maybe that he just doesn't want to limit himself to hip-hop.

That's what I was thinking also since he seems to have a big interest (well more explicit interest than most other rappers) in other genres. Maybe we can see something like what NERD is to Neptunes. I'm hoping something like that would be the case.
