I'm aslo trying to get into a TI song that a certain member of this forum put me on to. (I still don't like the song or TI though ^_^)

Looking forward to hopefully hearing some decent albums from Crooked I, Saigon, Joe Buddens, Lupe Fiasco

Producers I dig the most are Just Blaze, Mannie Fresh, Dre and Premier

That's what rapcore is, a rock/metal band with a rapper (or something similar) as a singer, and it's pretty much as bad. Here's a fan generated list.
http://www.last.fm/tag/rapcore/artists

Pretty much, Skindred is the only band worth checking out on there, and that's mostly because they aren't really rapcore (more like reggae metal). Also, some of the people who create this are narrow minded people who can only listen to one genre so they tag all bands that genre.

I don't understand why rap-haters come into threads about rap proclaiming their hate about it. It's not like we actually care enough about you to be worried about it, lolz. I mean seriously, you could have wasted those few precious moments doing something else you know?

It's like Green Day haters spamming the Green Day group on Myspace just for fun and to attempt to piss people off, my simple line of defense, is none at all. Don't say anything, if they don't like it that's their problem not yours.

Well, it's assumed that the OP is only going to care for the opinions of those that actually do listen to it. Unless of course he/she is sitting there making a list of AN members that listen to rap, and to those who don't, because in that case, you're point is perfectly valid.

I like all varieties of rap and I like the fact I can find something I've never heard before, underground and mainstream.

It probably be easy for me to list artist I don't like. And it would have to be a real corny dude for me to say I don't like em.... ex. Snap, Vanilla Ice, and Gerardo aka Rico Suave.

Haha, I love Eminem's part.

Nowadays everybody wanna talk like they got something to say, but nothing comes out, when they move their lips, just a bunch of gibberish, mother 'uckers (I figured you'd get this reference) act like they forgot about Dre.

I myself like stuff made by the original...MC Hammer, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Outkast, and Lil Jon- "Yeah". I definitely like Kanye's new "Stronger" and a couple other new songs. Most rap I like is a mix of old and new, because there was a time when rap had good beat AND sound. Akon brought a little of that back, I think. "Don't Matter" ftw, though.

My music of choice though is techno/electronic/club sounds.

I'm a fan of pretty much all rap and hip hop. The newer stuff sucks lyrically, but the beats are pretty sick if you're just looking for a song to move to.

Anyway, here's my current favs that I've been listening to a bunch:
BTnH
Outkast
Coolio
Big Tymers
Fat Pat
Kane and Abel
A Tribe Called Quest
Wu Tang Clan
Redman

Ps - I seem to remember a while ago Red and Meth had a show on MTV? I only remember this one part where they stuck a $20 bill in a diaper that they had melted a candy bar in or something. This one guy saw the nasty diaper with the 20 on the side of the street, and went to pick out the 20 when they jumped out of hiding and were like, "You're nastyyyyyy!" hahaha

Jurassic 5
The Roots
Wu-Tang Clan
Rhymester (Japanese)
Jinusean (Korean)
Outkast
Lupe Fiasco
Pharell
Nujabes (Japanese...from Samurai Champloo)

Oh, and Samurai Drifter:

Publik's right. Nowhere in the OP's statement did he ask for an opinion about rap. Plain as day, he said "Who likes rap?" and "Who do you like?" Get off you high horse already. If you don't like rap, that's on you. And on the subject of free speech, you also have the freedom to not listen. Goes both ways, eh? ;)

I love Hip Hop/Rap.

Funny, I actually disliked Hip-hop until about 6 years ago. It was till a friend of mine let me hold Jay-Z's "Blueprint" album and the rest is history. Been listening to it ever since, with my passion for it growing more and more everyday.

I do have a question however, Whats the difference between Hip Hop and Rap?

Post 97' - B.I.G., Jay-Z (BluePrint was gold) and Nas (Stillmatic was insane).

Now - Hmmmmm...Only Lupe Fiasco is constantly on fire too me. I guess Kanye West to.

Edit: Forgot about Ludacris. Even though he has some nursery rhymes at times.

Hip-hop is the "culture" which includes other art forms such as breakdancing, graffiting and djing, along with rapping

And rap is the branch of the hip-hop culture which deals with deliverance of words.

Asian hip-hop in the house, yo!

Glad to see fans of our hip-hop homeys in the far east. Me and a friend were discussing about how reggaeton caught on big in the states not too long ago. Me and him were hoping that the same thing would happen for Korean and other Asian hip-hop.

My favorite songs from Rhymester and Jinusean are Heat Island and Phone number, respectively.

I'm a Rap fan too:) I like pretty much anyone who doesn't use the women, cars, money, theme in their songs. Talib kweli, tupac(the guy isn't dead. he's going to release another album real soon. just wait for it) the roots, cassidy, common, kany west, nas, jay-z, black sheep, RZA, public enemy, immortal technique, Eminem and a lot more.

My favorite song is by black sheep called choice is yours: http://youtube.com/watch?v=nGwonG3iGaI

I think it's hard to squeeze out any good rap song these days because everyone now is about making a hit song for clubs. They keep the lyrics very simple and they try to get a nice beat to go with it and sometimes a new dance too. it's not stupid since they're actually making a lot of money out of it. I only wish though that they didn't call it rap. Give it another name. I mean there you have rock and pop. why don't they do the same too?!

Mmmm, I really was never raised listening to rap. I personally don't listen to it and wouldn't have enough knowledge to make an opinion, but just from the mainstream stuff I hear I really hate it. When the artist is actually rapping instead of just repeating himself 50 times over I think it's cool. What I'm saying is that I would like some skill in it. I don't know any specific artist, but I have heard some good rapping. The thing that gets me though is...rap doesn't take any musical talent these days. I'm not trying to hate on it for no reason. I just don't like it that much, unless it's including some skill.
