Thank you for taking the time to e-mail us. Our parent company, SQUARE
ENIX Co., Ltd., had at one time hinted at plans to re-release Final
Fantasys 7, 8 and 9 for the PlayStation 2. However, there is no
information on what this would have entailed or if they will ever actually
pursue the project.

As far as we know, there are no current plans to create a sequel for Final
Fantasy VIII at present. This is not to say it will never happen, but for
now SQUARE ENIX is currently focusing on creating other titles.

So maybe it is a fake. Hope it is though, I can imagine what they would do this time around (Thinks FFX-2 and DOA: Xtreme beach volleyball mixed together...)

I think we had a thread about this a while ago. I think we pretty conclusively determined it wasn't real, and it wasn't happening.

FF8-2 about Rinoa would fail.

I saw this image in another thread months ago. Most likely a hoax because images wouldn't be released for a magazine that's coming out 9 months later.
