Chapter 370 *SPOILERS*

1. Jiraiya realizes the guy knows something about Akatsuki but leaves him for the time being.

2. He summons a frog and arranges for him to provide Naruto with a "key" should something happen to him (looks like he's intent on fighting Pain).

The following is part of Jiraiya's conversation with the frog.

3. The key somehow releases the Kyuubi. When Jiraiya tried using it before, Naruto sprouted his four tails and went berserk. The idea is for Naruto to control it.

4. Jiraiya mentions that the Fourth split the Kyuubi's chakra into Yin and Yang. He sealed only the Yin with the Shikifuujin and left the Yang inside Naruto.

5. Jiraiya confirms the Fourth is Naruto's father, and surmises that Minato must have had good reason to leave seal the Kyuubi in Naruto specifically, but he doesn't know what it was. The Fourth might have know something no one else did, he says.

6. Jiraiya says he suspects the Kyuubi was released *by someone* as opposed to appearing naturally as the result of built up bad karma.

7. When the frog says that's crazy, Jiraiya says "Uchiha Madara," the Uchiha Clan's founder, summoned the Kyuubi before. He is alleged to have been defeated by the First Hokage in the Valley of Endings. Froggy says there's no way he could be alive today, but Jiraiya says he has "a bad feeling" about all this.

Interesting on Madara being the one to release Kyuubi... did he plan it all along? Just to get a bijuu made? or does he ahve other plans for Naruto?

Well we knew that the Uchiha's might have been the reason why Kyuubi attacked Konoha. Why else would he mention Madara, i doubt that he just saw him along the road. I wonder what frog it is it might be, hope its Gamakichi so we can see if that scan of him and Naruto is real. Yin and Yang but will it release all of his power or just the 4th tail and with that added help can he finally perfect his Wind Rasengan? Jiraiya better not make Tsunade cry but he almost got killed twice and survived but this might not be case with Pein, unless Pein wants to use him as another body.

So Madara had/has the same mark Sasuke has. Heaven seal i think but how could he have it, i thought Oro was the only one that could put the seal on people.

Things I've concluded:

-The First Hokage was the ****ing man! He fought one-on-one against Kakuzu (an "immortal") and Madara (the founder of the motherfuggin' Uchiha clan), AND lived through it (for not saying he kicked their *****...which he did at least for Madara).

That's not the heaven seal, that's the Sharingan's tomoe.

Very interesting chapter though. Based on the preview of the next chapter, we may get even more information about the past. Hm, things seem to be heading towards the conclusion with all of this info coming out... or rather, to Jiraiya quite possibly not winning this fight nor escaping from it.

I do find it funny that only Uchiha Madara's left eye was shown, and then it goes to Tobi whom only has the right eye shown.:P With all of the mind-transfer jutsu and body switching, it would make a lot of sense if Madara is inhabiting Obito's body. Of course, I don't see Madara acting like that, so it's also likely that Obito's personality and life is intact. Hmm... now it makes me wonder if Madara is planning on abandoning Obito and taking over Itachi instead... or maybe Sasuke is the one he wants. Hm... Uchiha bodies seem to be in high demand.

I don't know if you look in pg. 89 of volume 6 the seal he has looks the same as the one behind Madara. So everyone used the old armor because the 1st used it as well. The whole i want an Uchiha body is becoming a commend theme, so Itachi must have know of Madara and that is why he killed his clan. He thought that maybe he can take on Madara and if he couldn't then Sasuke would have to.

Edit: So the statues in The Valley of the End are Madara and the 1st and what does Tobi/Madara plan on doing in Konoha? And Minato left to incomplete techniques one being the Rasengan and the other being the Shishou Seal.

I've been suspecting all along that Itachi either did not kill his clan, or he did it for an ultimately good reason (in a twisted kind of way). Now that Madara is being featured so much, and Itachi having something he wants to say to Sasuke, I'm really sure something juicy's about to go down, can't wait!

I think it's kinda honorable from the First (or maybe the Second), that Madara, who turned out to be an enemy of Konoha, and a rival of the Hokage, would be remembered by making a statue/sculpture of him along side the First.

I thought Jiraiya implied that Yin was sealed away with Shiki Fuujin, and only the Yang was sealed within Naruto. Also, the frog mentioned that using the key to open a slight "crack" in the seal resulted in a 4-tails Naruto.

Thus, I believe the key can be used to release the seal entirely and open the full Yang chakra (aka. 9 tails Naruto).

As to why Yin and Yang chakra types, I had to look that up on wikipedia and here's the answer:

Yin is the dark element: it is passive, dark, feminine, downward-seeking, and corresponds to the night.

Yang is the bright element: it is active, light, masculine, upward-seeking and corresponds to the daytime.

Yin is often symbolized by water and air, while yang is symbolized by fire and earth.

The 4th only sealed the "bright element" chakra in Naruto.

I have to agree with ffl. All this sudden info within just one chapter makes it seem Kishimoto is rapping the series up. Let's hope not to soon though.

In my opinion Uchiha Madara bares a resemblance to Sasuke. Essentially the same hair type, albeit Uchiha Madara's is longer (more feudal like). Perhaps Sasuke is a reincarnation of sorts of Uchiha Madara. I guess a lot of people were right when they said the other person opposing the first Hokage at the Valley of the End was Uchiha Madara, they've been saying that for years now. I'm not sure how many "That jutsu's" I can handle anymore. Was Jiraiya talking about the rasengan, rasenshuriken, the Kyuubi's seal or something else entirely?

One last note. Ever notice how both Uchiha cry babies (Sasuke&Madara) got beat by guys with lines under their eyes?

Maybe. Im hoping for something more though. Or it could have been a feud between the two thats rooted before Konoha was even established. Man, sh!t is starting to hit the fan with this series. Though its gonna be a while before the anime can catch up to where the manga is.

I do have to wonder now though: when Sasuke was talking to the Kyuubi and in reference to Madara said something to the effect of "you expect me to know this person"; surely as an Uchiha he would know who the founder of his own clan was... so was he saying that as a "I've never met him/seen Madara personally so I can't make the comparison", or is it possible Sasuke didn't have a clue who Madara was?

Ya'know you are right. If Madara summoned the Kyuubi when Minato was the 4th then Madara would have to be pretty damn old. However let's not forget that he apparently seems to control Obito's body (if it is Obito's body). At the time of the Kyuubi's sealing Kakashi was probably in his early 20's (a Juunin?). Perhaps Madara was in control of Obito's body even back then.
