This year is looking interesting. Appalachian state upset Michigan!!! lmao :D
UCF beat NC state too. Great game! In the first half Kevin Smith had rushed for 150 yards while NC state (the entire team)had only rushed for 50. In the seconds half things went sour but we still won.
What games did you watch today?

Today was the day of games that were determined months ago. Did anyone really think Florida, Ohio State, or Oklahoma would loose? I could say the same thing about Michigan but well...... I don't even like them and having them loose to a I-AA team, in my life I can never remember a high ranked I-A team loosing to a I-AA.

That's because that's the first time it EVER happened(a 1-AA team beating a ranked team). Unfortunately, my favored team didn't do so well(OSU lost to Georgia), but I still hold hope for a strong season.....

College sports...It is what REALLY matters. Forget proper education, and expanding your horizons! Run into each other on a big field!
Yeah...not a fan of sports here...i am an arts person myself

Sports are responsible for curbing violence, providing a positive deterrent from crime for kids reared on a negative path, and, on a grander scheme, expanding entire economies and uniting nations. It would be very ignorant to look at sports and limit it to, "Hurr hurr. Jocks."
If anything, I would think that the educated wish to match the capabilities of their body with that of their mind to achieve a complete state of being. It would also say more about their level of education if they were able to be competent in sports during college while maintaining their academic journeys.
And I'd never limit myself to "a/an ______ person", personally. I am far too complex to fall under one term that would describe a significant deal of my worth.

You can be both. I'm in love with sports and art. And believe it or not, you can be properly educated while also being a sports star. How ironic you're talking about proper education in that fashion.

my sport is Formula 1. no steroids involved, just pure, raw, unadulterated talent. cept Ferrari and Mercedes are making every other team not stand a chance. wouldnt have happened if someone involved with Ferrari didnt give the car designer for Mercedes scetches for the new Ferrari racer. huge, enormous legal mess now. and with Michael Schumacher gone, Lewis Hamilton(Mercedes) is dominating this sport. dammit he starting racing in the minor F1 series when he wasnt even a teenager.
unless you live outside of NASCAR dominated US, you probably consider this one of the most confusing posts on this forum in recent history. NASCAR is nothing but a bunch of rednecks going around in a circle.

well look at the fans. Rednecks arent the smartest of people.
actually Grand Prix (AKA Indycar) racing was the main form of racing in this country until the 90s. along with Formula 1. there used to be two Formula 1 races in this country (from what i know). now the United States Grand Prix has been canceled for the next couple years. AND I REALLY WANTED TO GO WHEN I HAD ENOUGH MONEY!!!:crybaby: the attendence this year was very low. Ferrari is on the top of my priority list. screw anime conventions. (dives into the depths of NORAD)
NASCAR is the only sport in this country that supports inbreeding.

Calling racing a sport to me is like calling video gaming a sport.

Car racing requires a lot more skill and strength than video games...You can literally break your arms driving those cars. I don't watch it myself, but I'm just sayin'...

Aside from when people riot in the streets over their favorite team's latest victory or loss, or when players start fights with each other, league officials, audience members, or when fans of one team attack fans of other teams, etc.

While not exactly a race fan...I despise NASCAR. But I have alot of respect for Formula 1 racers, and especially Super Bike racers. Like to see a NASCAR river go 200 miles per hour and the only safety is straddling an engine.

You're right, those are completely beyond Zaire's crime rate dropping to a record-low in 1974 when the Ali-Foreman fight was staged, and world focus on Mobutu's relations with the country were heightened. When somebody talks about how a sport kept them and their friends off of the streets when they were growing up in the ghetto, I always smirk snidely before hitting them with this shocker: "Some people cause riots over sports. Hope you're happy with the blood of soccer-moms on your hands, you sicko." Similarly, I've never been one for an organized justice system; it can get the job done, sure...aside from when innocent people are wrongfully convicted for crimes they never comitted. BAM, that invalidates the entire premise. Nobody could have possibly been aware of that. The ratio of that to everything else may be disproportionate, but one strike is all it takes, if you ask me. Hell, why stop there? Breeding in itself has some benefits, sure, but some people can even grow up to be murderers. If you exist, you're a complete hypocrite.
I couldn't come close to predicting that someone would interpret such a statement with so much linearity that universally applying, blatantly clear repercussions have to be actively acknowledged. To state the amazingly obvious, all factors are taken into account and weighed against one another.

Indycar is not Fomula1 (aka Grand Prix). Most competitors in Indycar couldn't make it in Formula 1 . . . .

All the GOOD drivers are in Champ Car anyway. IRL needs to DIAF something fierce.

Huh, I missed this thread the other day. Well, as an OSU fan, I was obviously glad to see Michigan lose. Anyway, I'm not expecting our team to go to the National Championship game again, but I'll gladly take a BCS Bowl this year.
