I'm kinda getting used to guys like ffl or Cow declaring Shippuuden episode spoilers, but since no one posted it so far, I'll do the honors :D
Nice chapter, once you get to the end, you can't help but yell "Go Kakashi !!!!!"
Also, Naruto and Rock Lee's segment was nothing short of hilarious !!!!

Bad episode. It was just massively dragged out in all aspects of it, not a good follow up. Let's do a recap.
Sakura: Ouch, that hurts, but everyone knows I'm going to live.
Chiyo: I'm poisoned, but I'm still going to live through the rest of the show with my unlimited chakra so I can save Sakura and then still not die in the end and forget that I'm poisoned all together.
Sasori: Dammit, my heart got stabbed but I'm still going to live for a while so you can witness the mother father flashback another 332 times. Oh, and I have enough time to tell you about Orochimaru, then I can die right on cue.
Kakashi: Ok, lets go.

*Spoilers for 4th Movie?*
One thing I did notice was in the opening theme, it seemed to have spoiled how Naruto "dies" in the 4th movie. It looks as if it happens while he fights those wierd purple/black dragon things. Seems as if he gets impaled by 2, in the stomach and chest.

It wasn't good, especially given 25/26, but it certainly isn't a terrible episode. It was a touch dragged out, but not in the god awful and akward way episodes have been so far in Shippuuden.

The kakashi thing was kind of the highlight. THe rest of the episode actually seemed kind of short, I guess due to the lack of action. So, no episode next week, then more of team gay, I mean gai?

Didn't say it was awful, it was just one of those episodes where if they just skipped this episode, and played the next one, you could easily deduce what had happened.

I don't really know how some of you are judging this episode, but it seems like most people seem to judge them based upon the amount of action that it has rather than any story elements. If so, then all of the episodes will be pretty boring until it gets up to pivotal battles. There'll always be lulls in a story as it builds up to a climax, recedes, and then builds up again. This was an okay episode, but it was obviously there to cap off their long battle. The only thing I didn't like was how they introduced Kakashi's Mangekyou Sharingan. It just didn't have the same appeal as when it was introduced in the manga. If they had at least thrown in a Sharingan sound-effect, it would've been better.

No story was introduced in this episode. You can see what's going to happen from the get go.

OK. Let's just go straight ahead! Let's BLAST into the next 100 episodes of FILLER!
I think that's what they're trying to avoid. Yeah, the manga is pretty far ahead, but I think they're looking out for the long term here, I mean, think about it. I don't like these drawn out episodes much either, but I can understand... there's not much they can do about it.

So instead of having a fair amount of good episodes and then fillers, we're going to have a good amount of bad episodes. Gee, I like this thinking.

Honestly, I don't mind dragged out episodes, but only if the anime is catching up to the manga. If I recall, someone calculated the episode/chapter ratio at one point and it was taking about 2 episodes to do 1 chapter. That's way too dragged out. 1 episode per chapter would be fine. And no more damn Team Gai fighting unless someone does something INTERESTING.

Loved this episode. Filled with feeling and emotion. Art wasnt sloppy as 'usual' either. Seemed to carry over a bit from the last.

Is it my idea or Naruto is becoming completely like DB in battle matters? I see one battle more than 5 episodes-.- and Kakashi with Naruto almost keep on running doing nothing(Sakura overpowered imho). But maybe Naruto lasts more than DB in the end:P I wanna see moreeeeeee soon:D
<3 Kakashi-san!!! ^_^

Honestly, people, what is with all these complaints? Sure, this episode wasn't as good as the last one (which was full of win and awesome), and it might have seemed like they were dragging things out, but it wasn't a bad episode either. It was a nice way to cap off Sakura's battle against Sasori, which was probably the entire point of this episode.
Just because Naruto is an action anime doesn't mean that an episode that doesn't have much action is automatically a "bad" episode. IMHO, episodes that push forward the story, as this one did, are just as necessary as the battle episodes. I liked this episode. I didn't like it as much as I liked 26, but I still liked it. And knowing about Sasori's past could actually be important - you people never know.

I have nothing against non-action episodes. I do have things against ridiculously long dragged out episodes. The entire episode could have been accomplished in like 8 minutes. Not to mention that Chiyo is just randomly alive now, which will hopefully be explained in the next one. In fact, a lot of the time I tend not to like the fighting because it's getting off the whole ninja thing, and into more of a superpower thing, but I can deal with it...

Well, as some other people have already said, one possible reason for dragging out episodes is to prevent the anime from catching up to the manga. And while I can begrudge the animators for the quality of an episode, I'm not going to begrudge them for doing what they can to keep the anime from catching up too quickly to the manga again.
As for Chiyo... She is not "randomly alive." She said herself that she did not have to give all of her life force to Sakura, because Sakura was not dead; she was alive, just critically injured. She was dying, but she was not dead. So Chiyo still has a bit of her life force left. She should be very weak, but she is not dead.

Yeah. In my view, people complain about Naruto just because it's Naruto. It's a person's opinion though, but many opinions aren't exactly grounded in rationale. Now, when I watch a long series, I already know what I'll be getting into. I don't judge those shows too harshly on that account because I already know that it's nearly inherent. Some episodes will be 'meh' while some will be 'wow'. You just can't place unrealistic expectations on long-running series that still have a manga that is being written. That doesn't make them worse than series that have shorter runs though, it's just a different aspect of it. In my opinion, the enjoyment that a long-running series provides can definitely beat out that of some shorter series. One has more time to flesh out characters and settings, while one has more story to show in a shorter amount of time. People just have to realize what they should expect from each type. With shorter series, I expect unsatisfactory conclusions or character development. With longer series, I expect more cliff-hangers and random episodes. By knowing what to typically expect, you can reduce any dissatisfaction that you may feel. Of course, this applies to more than just anime.

I didn' t think Sasori would die so early... I thought he was gonna stay a little more in the story, but he' s defeated and probably won' t come back. So it' s done for him, I guess. Too bad!

If I remember correctly, Chiyo was poisoned very early in the episode. I was under the belief that the poison worked fairly quickly, meaning that she lived a ridiculously long time under the poison. Not to mention she was already ridiculously tired at the beginning of the episode in the first place.
If, in fact, she wasn't poisoned at all, just ignore everything I said.

The poison doesn't instantly kill. Sasori himself said it takes about 3 days to kill someone, it's just that the poison seems to cause great pain, enough to possibly resemble near paralysis, to the victim. As old as she is, and as great a puppet master, she's likely built up a form of resistance to poison over the years. Not a complete immunity, but at least the ability to push past the pain and keep moving when needed.

Next week (9/13) is a normal sized episode entitled "The Resurrected Beasts". Then we have another week break, followed by a double sized episode (9/27) called "Seal of Kyuubi" and "Naruto and Gaara". From this point on it's weekly again until at least the end of October.
