While preparing my DVR to record the Naruto Hundo today, I noticed that the TV guide listed Naruto under sports.

Oh my friggin' god, I've been forced to go through that **** ALL weekend. My nephews have been turned into little narutards, but the annoying thing is, that they think subs suck, and don't wanna go through all the work of reading and watching, so they stick to toonami, lol. I got my *** kicked too for spoiling it for them a couple of times, lol.

That was on the house TV upstairs today. Not my first choice for TV to watch, but when you're spending the time digging in Pokemon, it manages to be entertaining enough.

As for the thread title, I was briefly reminded of the old Gundam Wing is Shoujo thread.

Well, they do compete... and there are teams... so it could fit under that if they were lacking an animated ninja sub-heading.

Of Course it is a sports anime, I have seen Naruto play Fart Football with Kiba in one scene, and the fact most fights are the same thing like most wrestling matches, I can see it fitting in that category in a way.

Well, if one considers ninjutsu (the art of the ninja) a martial art, and if one considers martial arts to be a type of sport, then I can see how one might classify Naruto as a sports anime.

Otherwise, I can't see Naruto being included on the list of obvious sports shows like Prince of Tennis and Eyeshield 21. It's just action, like just about every other Shonen Jump series out there.
