Variety reports (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117970000.html?categoryid=13&cs=1) that New Regency, a 20th Century Fox-based production company, is nearing a deal with the Mark Gordon Co. on a live-action adaptation of the Voltron animated television series. Voltron was the 1984-1985 American adaptation of the King of Beasts Golion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV robot anime series. Justin Marks wrote a script which resets the Golion-based Lion Voltron story in post-apocalyptic New York City and Mexico after an alien invasion. Mark Gordon, Lawrence Inglee, and Jordan Wynn will produce if the film is greenlit. Marks is also adapting He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Green Arrow, and Street Fighter.
why must they do this..... So we have upcoming Alvin and the Chipmunks, Speed Racer, Spy Hunter, etc. Whats left? Scooby Doo, Josie and the Pussycats, Fat Albert, Transformers, Little Rascals and countless others have already been done. Maybe Gigantor the movie, or HR Puffenstuff. I know, we need Braveheart or Thundarr the movie.
