Now that we've seen more of what Sasuke can do after the time skip, Im beginning to wonder how will Naruto fare against the likes of Sasuke, Itachi, or even the Akatsuki Leader himself?
First of all I think Naruto's abilities now is just the beginning. His growth potential is immense even without the Kyuubi. With teachers like Jiraiya and Kakashi, I have no doubts with Naruto becoming a great Ninja.
So how will Naruto fare against someone who is obviously above his caliber when it comes to experience and abilities?
DISCUSS!

Well, if one Naruto can't figure out how to change a lightbulb... two Narutos would have a better chance, ten Narutos would be able to figure it out faster, and one-hundred Narutos would be able to figure it out quicker as well as change every lightbulb in the vicinity.

I think i see what you are saying adn I agree with you on that. Naruto's Kage Bunshin no Jutsu is probably his best arsenal when it comes to his training and in combat. This was shown a lot when he was training to perfect his rasengan by adding the wind element to it. I think Kishi needs to concentrate some chapters into Naruto's training again imo.

What happens to Naruto ins't important. Even if he's captured, killed, body destroyed and his ashes are spread around the 4 corners of the world he'll still come back to life by the end of the day and beat any obstacle in his path.
What I'm more interested in now is finding out how he will go about saving Sasuke rather then beating him. Naruto, Sasuke and Itachi will no doubt all find each other while what's his face battles Kisame. So will Itachi die to both Sasuke and Naruto working together only to have Naruto taken by the AL and Sasuke goes to rescue him?
This is how I see events playing out. I think Naruto will, and always has, shown the ability to adapt to every situation he has come across but I can't think of even once where he was depending on his friends and not the other way around.
Right now Naruto feels like superman. Something needs to happen to make him feel human.

Superman? No. Naruto doesn't seem like Superman nor does he seem unbeatable. More than enough has been done to show Naruto's weaknesses and his failings.

We'll just have to agree to disagree then. I think we all have seen Naruto "lose" before, but his losses are always followed by rebounds and the only significant loss that he has experienced to date is the driving force behnd the entire story--sasuke. That and the loss of the third Hokage that has long since been forgotten as a driving force behind the series.
Right now Naruto feels unbeatable, as would be assumed anyway given the series is named after him. He needs to experience real, permanent loss or this is going to turn out like Dragon Ball Z where every major problem and time when the story develops they wish someone back to life.
A real, reciprocal relationship needs to develop already. Not just a one sided infatuation. And then it needs to be ripped away, harshly to help develop some kind of real purpose and drama behind the series.
We’re quickly seeing DBZ’esque moments where nothing bad will ever happen and InuYasha’esque moments where the entire series is being built up around a single event. Thankfully that event is a human being with a troubled, and interesting past and not just a weapon that took 500 some episodes to move past. If it moved past :/

Didnt we see this already when Naruto and Sasuke developed a friendship and rivalry two and a half years ago? Only to be betrayed by Sasuke by leaving the village? Isnt that enough of a reciprocal relationship? As a matter of fact, its not just Naruto that was affected by this betrayal. His comrades too also felt this relationship being "ripped away" by Sasuke throwing away his camaraderie with not just his fellow ninja, but the town as well.
Then again, its just what you said.. we can agree and disagree about this issue. and its exactly why I wanted to discuss this with you guys.
Thanks for the responses so far.

Well that's why I said the only real thing holding this series together at the moment is the whole Sasuke drama. As entertaining as the Akatuski thing is, I feel like the point behind it is to act as a vehicle to bring Sasuke and Naruto back together. I'm really banking on the end result of this arc being nothing more then Naruto being captured and Sasuke going to rescue him.
The series is still enjoyable, don't get me wrong. It just feels so very flat. Where the story could be rich and dramatic it tends to be just action. As depressing as it sounds, I'm only really reading anymore to see what happens with Sasuke, why Itachi killed the clan and what the significance of mentioning Madara Uchiha was.
I'm not holding out much hope for a SakuraxNaruto or HinataxNaruto pairing to ever really develop. I'm also not sure what else this series has besides trying to put some closure on the whole Sasuke Naruto Itachi love triangle.

Naruto won't be a true ninja until he learns to do the most basic thing that every ninja but him knows; to control his damn emotions in a fight!

I still enjoy the series a lot. Right now its just slow and reading the manga and being so ahead makes it even worse for me in my opinion. I want to see these animated as soon as possible but thats going to be for a while. I want to see and explained what you mentioned above as well. Once again, those willbe a while before they are resolved or even explained.
