Not terrible, not very good either. Definitely not worth the wait for Linkin Park to come out with some original material, though.

A band for people who don't live under a rock.

Or a band for people who don't know what a good band is. :)

To me, I won't give it much of a listen. Linkin Park started out as something great to me, but when they tried hard to get more and more rap into it, i just said screw it.

Hybrid Theory
Reanimation (With Remixes)
Meteora
That random one with Jay-Z (More rap than the Reanimation)

I wonder when the remixes of this new CD are to be expected...

I tend to just leave them out of my musical interest from here on.

I have not heard the entire album, nor do I wish to. Linkin Park is an okay band, but they are nowhere near the level of good music of your average 80's metal band.

You want good music? Meat Loaf's 'Bat Out of Hell III' and Manowar's 'Gods of War'. You will never listen to another Linkin Park song again.

Yeah it HAD to hurt or not since people can be so absorbed by the ignorant mainstream music crap.

Well it didn't. Because I don't even like this band. But it's stupid to act like you've never heard of them when you have.

I didn't like it. But I think I outgrew Linkin Park when I was about 13 so I can't really judge.

To me, I think Linkin Park, wasn't expecting a huge, OMG THAT WAS AWESOME YOU GUYS ROCK. if you read the little booklet thing, it actually tells you they were only interested in the enjoyment of the production, whether people liked it or didn't that was something they were willing to expect.

In the eyes of a marketing sales person, that's a very wrong move. you don't want to say "well I liked the way this sounds, and that was really cool." without thinking of the audience's point of view.

In the eyes of an abstract artist, this is pure gold. I enjoy the album, not becuase of how they sound in relation to there previous work, but instead they were willing to push themselves to do things people might not find interesting, and make them even louder. If you've noticed this being the first LP album with a Parental Sticker on it, they tried to push their vocabulary. in my opinion, it's a little too much. Chester isn't the kind of singer I'd expect to drop the F bomb in almost every other word in the first song. Which leaves me to say that's their worst song, unless that was intentional. His screaming is also a little too much but I think that was also intentional.

Yeah, I was expecting them to come out with something a little more clean cut, but I've been doing my research on this album before it even came out, and what they presented to me was what I was expecting. I like some of the sounds they managed to put together.

most of the songs on the album are calm, one claiming the day when the world is doomed due to a nuclear fallout. Hens the title of the album Minuets to Midnight.

I like the arrangement, it seems as if every other song has a change in emotion. the first song is pissed, sort of the so called "emo" flavor. then it becuase a little softer. Chester has a nice voice, when he's not screaming.

While this album doesn't share the same Mike vrs. Chester scream fest from Hybrid Theory. Mike's first solo song isn't that bad, but i admit he's a better rapper.

then again, i'm skeptical to wonder if all that doesn't sound right, was intentional or if they where in fact trying to sounds different. Mike sings about pride and trustworthy to his fans, I'm guessing it's all intentional.

First album = 8/10
Everything after = 2/10

They had a good harder alternative sound starting out, but then, they thought they could rap and sing pop music or they all suddenly became gay...yikes, their crazier than Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan combined and twice as irrelevant now. :x

You forgot to put a choice in your poll that says "I think they are trash"

I d/led the album, and thank go I did. It isn't worth buying. Single was good, but not that great to me. And there was one song on there that I absolutely hated, it was one of the first few.

The only songs on the cd I listen to:

shadow of a day
Minutes to midnight
hands held high
valentines day
the little things you give away (I found this one especially interesting).
