I wanted to make an official thread focusing on the supergroup S.K.I.N.
Gackt – vocals, piano
Miyavi – guitar
Sugizo – guitar, violin
Yoshiki – drums, piano
Ju-Ken – bass
It sounds like Ju-Ken from GacktJob is the newest (temporary) member. I'm really happy about this because the guy's awesome.
Seems that they made their debut performance on the 29th. From what I saw on YouTube it was loud. Flashy, too. Gackt sounded good, from what I could hear. He spoke nearly perfect English, as well. I could actually understand him.
Please refrain from using opinions such as, "Miyavi sucks." "Gackt has no talent." in your responses. Thank you.

Well, according to my sister, I hear there are a lot of mixed reviews about the S.K.I.N. concert. While many feel that it was "epic", others feel as though it was an overrated show. They only played five songs in a duration of fifty five minutes and a lot of people are disappointed by that. Many found the songs to be repetitive and long winded as well. Also, many said that Gackt was drowned out by the audience and if not the audience, the band itself. Not to mention, there were a few more problems.
This being the bands first live with all five members of the band and not to mention them only getting to practice just a few days before the actual show, a lot needed to be worked out.

Everything you stated I read at other places, so those are facts.
Because they had very little practice, I think they did a very good job.
The fanservice was definitely minimal. Then again, this is America. Gackt touched/grabbed himself a lot. Miyavi did some stuff, too.
At the end Yoshiki and Sugizo trashed their instruments. That's pretty desperate, in my opinion.
If they're doing a U.S. tour and come to Chicago, I'm going to go see them. Mainly because it's only a 40 minute drive from my area. I think their performances will improve as time goes on. These are talented people we're talking about.
I worry about Gackt, though. I hope he doesn't leave S.K.I.N. the same way he left MALICE MIZER. I worry that he's too popular and egotistical. Only time will tell.
I look forward to what S.K.I.N. has to bring its audience.

Maybe it was the place we sat at, but the sound was really bad. The guitar screeched way too much. Sometimes it was difficult to listen to. First song was crap. The piano/piano/violin/shamisen section was cool but Yoshiki banging on the piano toward the end was ****ing weird.Gackt repeated himself a ****ing ton around the end of the concert, that got old quick.
Dispite my complaints I think I liked em anyway.
Edit: Oh yeah, WHAT THE HELL was that bizarre crab dance that Ju-Ken and Miyavi did right at the end of the solos n ****? I was seriously weirded out

... i only listened to them from OUTSIDE the concert arena in AX. we were just laughing our a$$es off from the drowning screams of fangirls overwhelming the band's sound. basically, it was a fangirl concert.

Yeah, it was pretty ridiculous. People were seriously hyped the hell up.

Well, of course they were. This was the debut performance of Japan's newest "Supergroup". For them to be playing in America, especially Gackt, that's huge. I would have been screaming along with them. Not looking too stupid, of course.

So I've heard. Well, it was Gackt singing, so don't expect anything too different from DIABOLOS...
As far as the music goes, I can't help you there. I wasn't actually there.

I'm not expecting much from this group, really. To me, it seems more like Gackt, Yoshiki, and Miyavi's way of stroking their egos a bit more. I don't expect this group to last for more than a few years.

A few years? I expect Gackt to leave before 2007 is over.

No news from S.K.I.N.
Isn't Miyavi on his NEO VISUALIZM Tour? I guess they really couldn't do anything w/o him...
I do NOT like his new look. He looks like a woman.

oh well I think it's just for this tour ... not that he's turning over a new mascara for life or anything :P
He still looks the same to me anyway ... :|

Really? I was talking to some friends at school the other day and they agreed that he looked way different.
Oh, well. Not like it really matters. I just can't get used to it. He looks scary.

 I like how this has turned into a discussion about Miyavi's non fashion sense....
I've been kinda stuck on Abingdon Boys School and ignoring the S.K.I.N. thing entirely.
uh .. went back in time a little picked up Miyavi's single jibun kakumei
and Yes I can safely say the the kabuki thing is just stage make-up for this tour and that things should shift radically before next year ... maybe even with the new single to be released in November
Or hey maybe S.K.I.N. will actually get to doing something XD
I don't have any intelligent people to talk to if you can't tell <_<
any time I make a comment it either gets ignored or deleted most places

I enjoyed their cover of Buck-Tick's song Dress.

I hate that song. I really do. Too screechy.
