I think we are all tired of all the crappy remakes of our beloved films so i made this thread so we can poke fun at how badly they do remakes. just name a movie and mention stupid things they will do to ruin it

The Thing: they would get "frodo" to be the main character, and change the cast from full grown hardened men to angsty teenagers.

The Thing has already been remade.

A Clockwork Orange. Alex is just misunderstood and finds himself to become good, and they would take out all the porn stuff.

No The Thing was a remake of the 1950's Horror movie Thing from Another World.

I would pay to see that. Nothing more fun than 85 year old Nazi's getting back into the spirit of things. Pauly Shore is rumored to make a guest appearance as the home attendant.

I forget what it was called, but during the previews for the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie there was a preview for a movie coming out eventually that was about a bunch of criminals who are stranded on an island by the government and are forced to kill each other off for our entertainment until there is one left. Sound at all familiar?

Sooner or later Hollowood will get around to remaking or making a sequel to every film that did even alittle bit of business for them. also they will take ever TV show that was ever popular an turn them into bad movies too. This is the future, and the future is going to suck really badly.

I'll never forget how as soon as that trailer ended, I thought to myself, "I'm sure everybody here's also thinking this is nothing more than a...", just to get cut off from my thoughts by my friend right next to me yelling "BATTLE ROYALE RIP-OFF!!" -_-;

Funny thing is, if they were to make a Battle Royale remake, people would be calling it a ripoff of Condemned.

Yea, no. Too bad it has one of the heaviest Cult followings ever. It's an amazing movie.

Now. Horror remakes suck. I have only seen ONE horror remake I injoyed, and that was the Tom Savini Night of the Living Dead remake in the 90's. The Dawn and Day remake both sucked out loud.
The movies in bold are happening. The movies non-bolded are not as of yet.

Hellraiser.
Friday the 13th.(Though it is sorta a prequel.)
HALLOWEEN!(Seriously. Rob Zombie can't even sing. Why is he making movies? And raping one of the most amazing films in history of Horror?)
Nightmare on Elm Street.(Sorta a prequel to Freddy's Death. That will probably be worse than the TV series telling of said events.)
The Crazies.(Another George A Romero movie being raped.)
The Birds.(Hitchcock must be rolling in his grave.)
Evil Dead.

Non-Horror movie remake speculaions that I would cry if happened:

The Godfather.
Mean Streets.
Taxi Driver.
Raging Bull.
Heat.
Another Scarface remake.(The original was good. The Al Pacino remake spawned a million fake gangsters.)

PS: Yes. Basically remakes should be made illigal.

June 13th, 2007, 08:39 AM
They already had 'The Birds 2' with no real ending :p

Altough with today's technology the Birds could be more impressive looking.

A Karate Kid remake where the kid is a getho kid trying to fight gun with fists.

Gremlin and Short Circuit where the lively animatronics are replaced by cold and stiff CGI models -.-

In response to Solid-Snake's Post:

Hellraiser.
I wanted to kill someone throughout those movies. Lame. Lame. Lame. Lame. Lame.

Friday the 13th.
How many are there? 10?

HALLOWEEN!
Don't even get me started on Halloween.

Nightmare on Elm Street.
Gyah! Doesn't get any worse than that!

As a horror movie addict, I was disappointed with all of these remakes.

Haro!

You can't top Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan. Jason....IN MANHATTAN!!!! What a crazy concept. Straight up looney tunes. All Jason had to do was take those people to a restaurant and the staggering prices would have killed them. Hell, why don't we give Jason a time machine? Oh, wait....NO! We'll throw the douchebag INTO SPACE!!!! Jason X was the worst thing ever. It was just comedy. Just watching him backhand a robot chick's head off was amazing.

Remaking a horror movie is almost impossible. You can't make it any worse than the original. You just can't.

All the Bruce Lee movies with Samuel L. Jackson as Bruce Lee's characters... oh wait, that would be one hell of a collection!

*Or somehow find a way to edit Samuel into all the movies.

Crappy Remake- Mortal Combat or any more sequels

Jason Takes Manhattan was my favorite in the series. It was definately the last, good FT13th Movie. After that we got Jason Goes to Hell(Which did as much for Jason as Halloween 3 did for Micheal.) And Jason X.

Don't give them any ideas, this is hollowood we're talking about, they now take all their ideas from the internet, remember that "Snakes on A plane" abortion ?

Now they're going to do it, they are going to ruin Casablanca, maybe not now, but the idea has now been put on their "to do" list from hell!

Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday, and for the rest of our lives! (if they make that god-forsaken remake).
