I have not seen anyone else fanboyish enough to post this but they recently released the preview for this DVD movie and the Earth Alliance vs the Centauri Republic battle looks 10 shades of awsome and is enough to justify me picking this up on release. Is anyone else planning to pick this up when it comes out at the end of July?

HELL YES.
I had no idea this was even coming out. I kinda figured that B5 was already done and dusted, and that there would be no more entries in this franchise from now on, so I hadn't really been checking for anything like this in the news.
I guess I'm not the geek I used to be.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Bern. It might have completely slipped by me otherwise. I'm sure I would have picked it up someday, but something like this is worth getting sooner than "someday".

I hadn't heard about it before now. I, too, thought B5 was long gone, since a number of the main actors have died off. Glad something new is brewing.....

Neat, happen to know if there's agonna be a collectors edition released soon after? No point buying it on release if yer can get some more extras later on.
There was another show that was on around the same time I used to watch Babylon 5 called something like DSV (Deep Sea Vehicle?), it was somewhat similar to B5 but was set on a massive submarine underwater rather than in space - I think it was more orientated towards a young audience tho', anyone remember it? I wonder what happened with that.

Seaquest DSV? That was a terrible show. It was guilty of all the worst crimes of family oriented TV. It was so lazily written, and so utterly contrived.

That was it! Seaquest and Babylon 5 were on channel 4 if I remember right, not sure - either way I used to watch both when I was ickler and enjoyed them -
DSV may have been poorly written, I wasn't in a position to judge it that way when I first saw it because of my age at the time - I'd still like to see them both aired again.

I suppose that explains it. It started out OK, but it didn't have the steam to sustain anything more than a TV movie, and even the low standard of writers they had to begin with soon was replaced with hacks who shouldn't get to write junk mail, let alone anything else.

I am really looking forward to it, although I can't help not being completely positive.
The original Babylon 5 series was awesome, one of the very best if not best science fiction series of american television (can't say, haven't seen them all), however everything Babylon 5 that has been made outside of the main series, except In the beginning, has been mediocre at best. I hope "The Lost tales" can break this unfortunate tendency, I really do. But whether it is going to happen still remains to be seen. Regardless I still look forward to seeing it, since after all, I am a bit of a Babylon 5 fanboy. ; )

OMGoodness...
I had all but given up on any B5 as of late. It was a nice reminder to watch that clip and get the anxious little *happy giddy* inside.
I fought liking it for a while, then eventually fell hard.(Thanks Ari :P)
Thank you SO much for bringing this to our attn.

Once the show ended, I thought that was it for B5 (kinda like how Stargate basically ended once RDA left). When is this DVD due out? Does it feature John Sheridan, the original captain (whose name I forgot) or someone new altogether?

Next Tuesday, it features Sheridan and Lochley. If they sell enough the next one will have Garibaldi!

Garabaldi was excellent. I loved the episode where he pretended to be a Psi-corp undercover operative....

Well I watched it the first one with Lochley sucks, the second one is alright but not great. J.M.S cannot direct. The new CGI is awesome however, now if we can just get them to make a film about the Dilgar war.
