Whats up with Tsunada?

Ok, what is up with this Tsunada chick in Naruto? She is suppose to be 50 something, but she uses Jutsu to disguise herself. But even when she gets low/runs out of jutsu, or gets a good beating...it doesnt wear off.
Is it just a reason to have a hot older woman? Or is there another reason?

I think Kishi didn't want Tsunade looking like an old-hag, so he gave a few liberties on her part. Either that, or Tsunade is really strick about her appearence. :P

Yeah that's what I should've said. What I meant when I said that she REALLY cares about her appearence, is that no matter what situation she's in, she always makes sure she has enough chakra set aside to sustain her young appearence.

carry on watching and it explains it somewhere for you, but she just stores chakra and does some stuff with it to make her look young. When she runs low on chakra her muscles tighten up and all that

yea, I vaguely remember a scene where (I think it was after the sannin fight) there is a side-shot of her and u can only see her cheek and it goes all wrinkly.

I think we could see part of her body age rapidly pre-Shippuden. (P.S) Probably around the time when she meets Naruto and before going back to Konoha.

Question because I missed some the facts: Was her little brother the fourth Hokage? I thought it might be because her little brother's image sort of looked like Naruto in the quick flashbacks. If not then how does she know the 4th Hokage?

Her little brother is not the the 4th Hokage. Her little brother dreamed of becoming a Hokeage but that wont be so. Tsunade becomes quite fond of Naruto because of his dream of becoming a Hokage and also because he resembles her little brother as well. And as far as how she knows the fourth, well Tsunade, Jiraiya (Ero-sennin/perverted hermit), and Orochimaru were the three sannin (legendary shinobi) and Jiraiya was the fourth Hokage's sensei.. so by that association, she knows the fourth.
