Homunculi

Ok, I have a small question about the Homunculi of Full Metal Alchemist TV Show/DVD... All of the Homunculi have hints or clues on where they're from or who they've been made from and why. Except Gluttony...

Lust - Made by Scars brother in attempts to bring back his wife
Pride - Made by Dante because she was trying to create the 'perfect' Homunculi who can age like a mortal
Greed - Made by Dante/Hohenheim (Not overly sure why)
Wrath - Made by Izumi trying to bring back her son
Sloth - Made by Ed/Al in attempts to bring back their mother
Envy - Hohenheim/Dante in attempt to bring back their dead son.
Gluttony - It was hinted that he was created to make Philosophers Stone... but by who? and is the true reason?

I haven't read the manga, but the Homunculi of the manga have a different story line then the anime i've heard.

Anyone have any ideas by who and why Gluttony came to be?

I actually just finished watching the entire series/movie yesterday, and the same question was lingering through my brain waves.

I'm also very curious to find out about the little guy.

Gluttony was made by Dante, and so was Greed, in Greed human form he was in love with Dante, he stalked her and stuff, then she tricked "betrayed" him as he put it and she made him into a homunculus, gluttony was also indeed made to harbor the philosopher's stone but who he originally was is never even talked about through out the series.

In the manga after greed dies, Dante makes a new Greed also, but in the manga 'Father' has more to do with homucli's creation than Dante.

There isn't? I don't own the manga but I was thinking about buying it...does anyone know any good places to get it.
