Anyone have any old snacks or candies that they really miss?
I dunno why, but lately I've had a craving for Zours, but I can never find them anymore. :/
They were so amazingly sourly delicious.
Anyone?

I dunno if they had them over there in America, but here they had two I miss: these really sour things called Short Circuits, and these chewy red things called Redskins that turned your tongue red.

Yeah, you don't see those too often anymore. But I noticed when I went to New Orleans a few weeks ago, a few states down south still sell them in a lot of quick shops.
They once had these really good rice-crispies treats type snack, but they were made out of Captain Crunch cereal. Those were pretty good. Haven't seen them in years.

Before Pop Tarts became popular, Kelloggs used to have a product called "Danish Go-Rounds". Here's a pic:
http://theimaginaryworld.com/pix551.jpg
I used to eat these every morning. I remember watching saturday morning cartoons and eating a Danish Go-Round. I would kill for a package of them, but they stopped making them back in the 70's sometime. They were MUCH better than Pop-Tarts.

Don't know if they no longer sell them (and I haven't had them in over a decade), but those neat little koala bears filled with chocolate/strawberry/other fillings. I saw L eating some in the Death Note anime, so they might still be popular, I'm not sure. According to a Google search, they appear to have been named "Koala's March".
I also miss the promotional campaign thing Sprite had, where they changed the flavors subtly (also can't remember the name for the life of me, but there was one strawberry or raspberry or something-flavored soda that was very good), but they seemed to have stopped producing them. Ah, just looked up the name: Sprite Remix (I very much liked the Tropical one, but the Aruba Jam one was pretty good too. Berryclear was lame).
EDIT: @StandingAlone: Peeps! and Swedish Fish are sold here all the time (well, the Peeps are usually sold around Easter, but you get the idea). I haven't heard anything about them being discontinued (then again, I heard nothing about the above two, either).

Ooo.. I just remembered a candy bar I used to love, but they stopped making them: the Go Ahead bar. It had a peanut butter filling, surrounded by a milk chocolate and crispy coating. They came in two segments in one bar-sized package. I think they might've also been fortified with a few vitamins, but I can't remember exactly. I just remember that the ad campaign indicated that they were somehow "better" than eating candy bars.
Those were really good, but they were only out for a couple of years.

I remember those! You would get extra fiber from eating the paper because they never came off cleanly.

That was the only way I got fiber as a child *sigh*. I used to buy them in bulk every time I went to the movie theatre. That, and Snow Caps (I was a....fat child....).
Does anyone remember Lemon Heads? Those little sour candies that were really nasty but.....oh, did they stick with you. Sure, turned your face inside out, but they stuck with you. If I close my eyes and pucker my lips, I can almost taste them.....

I don't know if they really stopped making 'em, or if the stores around these parts just never sell 'em, but I sometimes get a real craving for Jolly Ranchers, and they are nowhere to be found. Pear Drops are also rather scarce now, as are most of the traditional sour hard candies. Stuff like Sour Apples, and Sherbert Lemons were awesome.
Most of the other old snack foods I like are still available, like old-style hard liquorice, or monster munch. Lots of candy bars, snacks, and soda used to be way better before they changed to a "new and improved" (my ***!) formulation, though. I'll never understand why it's not good enough to leave an established and proven product the way it is.
I shouldn't forget Treacle Buttermints, they were gorgeous. I've not seen those since I can't even remember. Not this decade, and possibly not the previous decade either. Treacle toffee also is awesome, even if it's horrible for your teeth. It sticks around for ages...
This topic has really made me nostalgic for those old-fashioned treats...

Jolly Ranchers are still sold here in Texas. Would you like some bags? ^_^
As for new formulations, blame the switch to HFCS from sugar cane.

You can still buy some of the old candies online, but from some of these you have to buy in bulk.
