Good episode, these mini fights have finally come to an end and we can get on with this arc.
The new rasengan was quite something, well animated and it pwned the Akatsuki spy.

Better than last episode at least. Naruto actually finally killed someone though! I don't think he's ever actually ended anyone's life before this episode. He doesn't seem to be too concerned about his first murder though lol.

All I can say about the last few Naruto's and Bleachs is meh, I must be getting spoiled by Claymore.

Yes, our little angels are now cold-blooded assasins *sniff* you could just cry. :crybaby: This time the filler worked out really well.

Agreed - seeing Itachi fight was really awesome. Forming seals while dodging kunai... I don't think we've seen anyone else do that before. :)
While the giant Rasengan is cool, I'm a bit disappointed. First, the name is sort of silly - "Really Really Big Rasengan!" or whatever. Naruto should talk to Gaara about naming techniques - Gaara has the best names for his techniques. Second, a bigger Rasengan that requires a shadow clone to strike with doesn't solve the problem Jiraiya brought up: being able to hit the target more easily. If anything, it's even harder to connect with this Rasengan since it would be harder for the two people "holding" it to maneuver. Hopefully this is just the first step towards Naruto's improved and original Rasengan.

Actually, in the manga, there was no explanation about the Oodama Rasengan being able to hit targets better, or any explanation at all. Naruto just popped up and rammed it into Itachi. It's just supposed to be a bigger and stronger Rasengan.

Wow...you guys thought it was good? I thought it was the most anticlimactic thing ever. The fights weren't even that entertaining to watch. Though better than the last few, I really don't think it was good enough to be praised -.-.

And Also...SPOILER ALERT
The Odama Rasengan is not even the final form at all. Kakashi actually reveals to Naruto that the Rasengan is incomplete. Thats why Naruto goes into training with Kakashi and Tenzou and later reveals that Naruto can use his wind nature and combine it with the Rasengan to make it his most powerful jutsu

I think he was too busy being stunned over the fact that the man lying dead on the ground wasn't Itachi...and that, on top of that, this man was a jounin from the Hidden Sand. ("What the heck is a Sand shinobi doing here?!") I think that would be shocking enough to make me temporarily forget that I'd just killed someone, too.
That scene with Itachi's genjutsu and Naruto's "nightmare" (for lack of a better word) reminded me once again of why I started watching the anime in the first place - to see scenes like that animated. There are some effects that only animation can achieve.

That Odama Rasengan looked more like an explosion to me....
Nuclear war Naruto ftw.

now hang on a sec... it isn't "murder." he killed a man that was trying to kill him originally. protecting yourself and your comrades by killing an opponent isn't murder. at the worst it's considered self defense. besides, if i had the chance to take an Akatsuki, i'd do it without a second thought... mostly cuz if you think twice with them, you're dead

You make a good point about the fact that he was Akatsuki. For quite a while Itachi and the rest of Akatsuki have represented to Naruto something evil that should be destroyed. If it was really Itachi I think Naruto would feel relieved after killing him. However, since it turned out to be a stranger (remember, they don't know he's an Akatsuki spy) I'll be interested to see how Naruto reacts.

his reaction wont be interesting, all it will be is Naruto goes crazy, then says he doesnt understand what is going on, then make an oath to take out the real Itachi and rescue Gaara

I kinda' agree with you... luckily I'm following Bleach on AS, so I'm only in the 40s.
Still, Claymore is good.

Though it was rather short, I was rather excited to see some more Itachi and Kakashi fighting action. Its rare to see Itachi (and Kakashi) fight. I cant wait to see more.

seriously though, everyone would do the same! don't tell me that when you fail at something you've worked so hard on you don't promise yourself to be better! to never make the same mistakes again! cuz honestly, if you say that you've never made an oath to do better you're either a liar, or a good for nothing nobody. a mindless drone that has never tried to succeed and will never amount to anything more than a epitaph, "here lies worm-food, may he rest in... well may he rest"

I loved the Soul Society arc which you're watching now, I'm only probably a volume behind in the bleach manga and I can't get excited about it or the animated episodes :(
