This is one of those threads brought out of the mind through boredom, when you just start thinking random things...
So as I was delving intho the depths of my mind, I concluded that my favorite genre was what todays standards call alternative. At least, that's what all my favorite bands fall under...
I also have Jrock, classic rock, and hard rock pulling close behind...like on a scale to ten, if alt was 1o, the latter three would be 9.99999. :D
Anyway, waht are your favorite music genres...

Mostily Japanese I suppose, j-pop j-rock and j-urban, along with occasional indie rock( still mostly Japanese though <<;; ) I occasionally listen to some k-pop and urban stuff, along with some Taiwanese pop, and occasional French, Thai and other European pop.
I also like American pop and rock and urban from the late 90's and some one hit wonders from the 80's and some occasional disco <<;;
Pretty much anything that’s not country or hardcore rap/rock

I'm such a dork. I'm all about the Show Tunes and stuff from musicals. They should play some Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables at our dances. I'd die.

First off, music I could march off to a medieval battle to. These include:
Power Metal: The most kickass of all musical genres. Manowar rules all.
Heavy Classical: Classical music with a heavy emphasis on the bass line, the concerts that shake your soul.
Next, I like Hair Metal and Classic Rock about equally. By Hair Metal I mean those that aren't already in the Power Metal grouping.
My guiltiest pleasure is Techno. I will say, though, that non-American groups are the only ones I can stand.

I love when people say "techno." Techno is a genre, and I doubt many of you would like it. You probably like trance, house, etc.
As for me:
Deep Tech House
Minimal Techno
Acid House
Punk
Jazz
Blues

My favorite band is "gene" which is a British Alternative band, so I guess that's my fav genre.
Other than that I really like Christian Rock/Pop like Relient K, Switchfoot, Thousand Foot Krutch.
I also like Jpop such as Rurutia, Hitomi, Ayumi Hamasaki, the Indigo, Do As Infinity, etc.
