View Full Version : I never knew this about FFX and VII

But by scenario book, the two are connected. The world of VII are result from X people flying into space and Shinra from one of the albded's ancestor o.o.
FFVII Life Stream = exactly the same as FFX green light things (forgot what it was called). and by same not concept, but they are both exactly the same thing.
Is there anything else like that in other Final Fantasy (being connected) besides the obvious Complition of FFVII and X to X-2?

...what? That doesn't make sense. I require more legitimate proof.

Final Fantasy X-2 Ultimina Ω book, kinda old but in the interview on there.
I don't know about Engilsh version but there's this one character named シンラ (Shinra, but not in Kanji..it's that small kid on the airship) according to the interview on that book.
Shinra discovered there is great energy source at the spirit place (again, forgot the name) and after discovering that, he teamed up with Albed's Rin and made a spaceship. With that Spaceship, they(or maybe just Shinra) went to a different planet and built the very first Shinra company.
It also explains that why the Lifestream found on that planet = same thing as the spirit place in X. Preseident Shinra and Rufus Shinra are Shinra's descendent.

Interesting...but I doubt it's actually considered canon. I do recall meeting a Shinra on the airship in X, tho, IIRC.

I always hated this idea. Yeah there is a lose connection. Some of Shinra's dialogue in X-2 does hint at it but I like to think X-2 never happend.

While I didn't like X-2 to the extent that I felt it did cheapen the ending to Final Fantasy X to a degree, it is nonetheless canon. Kind of like if we're talking about the anime Dragonball (not the manga), GT "did" happen, even if people like to pretend it didn't.
But I just don't draw the connection between X and VII. In IX, Zidane makes a comment after seeing a large sword on a shelf along the lines of "I remember a guy with spikey hair that used a sword like this" (or something like that) doesn't mean IX happened after VII.
SquareEnix likes to make these crossover references all the time.

In the interview, it said it is connected, rather than crossover reference.
It's kind of think its bogus, I agree, but that's how it suppose to be...at least in SE's eyes.

This is simple.
Lifestream = Farplane
Shinra = Spoke about extracting Farplane energy, so I believe he may have developed the technology for Mako Extraction which caused the death of the Cetra etc..

Nope. That doesn't make sense. I think it pretty clear and simple what is trying to be said here. Len did a pretty good job...

There really isn't anything to explain. Its just a small reference to FFVII that could connect the worlds of X and VII. Really its nothing important. Just something put into the games for fans to pick at.

I like both of those FF games. (FF VII and FF X) But I dont think they are directly connected. But I think in some little bit of way all of the FF games are related and maybe have a few characters similar to another FF game. After all, they are all Final Fantasy games! lol

Hit the nail on the head here.
Fans are always wondering about any connections between the worlds and characters in Final Fantasy. Personally I think the games creators have gone too far now to start linking games together with silly little things like this.
Although it does make for good trivia. Heh.

I remember talk on some forum about how all the games in the FF series are different timelines/parallel universes that were kompressed in VIII, which is the reason behind the similarities in folk's names throughout the series and all the rest of it.
Nothing official, just fanwank if that isn't immediately obvious.

Maybe. This is more likely just relapse of reused themes throughout the FF series as a whole. It makes each series seem... in some way, atleast a little if you really want it to be... interconnected.
