What an awful way to end a full, albeit tortuous life, and massively successful career.

^

He would have thought it funny especially after all the other things that should have gotten him.

I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did after publishing Timequake. It was clear in that book that he was saying goodbye.

One of the true greats of American fiction has died, and I guess the only thing left to say is "So it goes".

RIP, Kilgore Trout. *salute*

Truly a sad day. We need more novelists like him.

I will commemorate the event by buying "Slaughterhouse five", which it shames me to say I have not yet read.

If it were up to me, I'd write "He tripped down to Hell before going up", which should have enough nuances to capture his life in a nutshell.

I've never read any of his stuff before, but after reading that article, I might just pick some up. I'm a writer myself, and I probably hold alot f the same positions he did on things. I think he did good while he was in life, and it's true more like him are needed.

He lived in my town. :/

And I didn't even know who he was. RIP. :(

I don't know what's worse: that Vonnegut's dead, or that so many people haven't got a clue who he was.

He was a great author, I enjoyed everything I ever read that was written by him.

Aww. I just taught a short story of his to my students as a wonderful example of satire. Great author. A story that some of my students actually liked!
