I know the series ended a few years ago, but I was wondering if there was any other fans of the show on this forum?

I used to watch it in third grade. I haven't seen it in years, but it was an awesome show.

The same for me:lol: I used to watch it when it first came out but thats all.

I did recently watch the movie though. Which was decent.

PS- The Simpsons episode with the X-files is one of my favorite Simpsons episodes.

They reached a point after something like about four or five seasons where it just became a parody of itself, but the first two seasons, and to a lesser extent the third and fourth were pretty good television. Isn't that usually the case though? The first and second season of almost any TV show are usually the best.

Yes, remember the episode with the vampires? Or the one with the guy with incredible luck?
I love the show, if the series boxsets came down in price I'd buy them. When the show was out I was too young to watch them, and the episodes I did see scared me, but now I'm older I feel like I've missed out on something. And god knows I've missed out most my life.

I managed to pick up seasons 1 & 2 for about 30 quid each. I tend to buy from the sales though, which means that what I buy is a little random. I don't go out to buy a specific DVD or set. Instead I go out with my whole wishlist in mind, and simply select from that whatever is cheapest on the day. I apply the same mindset to games.

I have no idea, but skully (girl right?) is hoooottt! I love her, American voice.
I'm like that too, and also with music CD's. I think I'll check out HMV and Virgen megastore for the boxsets. The new HMV in Liverpool has a basement with checkered carpet=D
Do they have HMV in america?
Nice avie btw

Do they have HMV in america?I know they have Virgin Megastore in Manhattan, but I didn't see an HMV while I was visiting. I'm English like you, by the way.

I believe there is a flagship store in Manhattan, but since its an English chain, most are located around the Eastern Seaboard and Canada. I luckily I have a Virgin Megastore near me, the second one in Downtown Dallas closing early last year.

Scully. And her name is Gillian Anderson. And yes, she is sexually attractive.

Anyway, X-files was a good show for the first half or two thirds of the series. Oddly enough, I always found the "mystery of the week" episodes to be more entertaining than the whole alien conspiracy thing.

Same here, but I kinda got out of it in favor of the (superior) Adventures Of Brisco County Jr.

Agent Reyes. Too one-dimensional and boring.

I hate FOX for canceling The Lone Gunmen.

I lasted up to season eight. But the last year, I just could not watch. It just got too BORING.

Though I had to see the last episode just to see Mulder and Scully kiss *was a big shipper*

I blame the X-Files for starting my foray in shipping, and CSI for obvious reasons. (GrissomxSidle 4EVER :P )

I loved the Lone Gunmen, damn FOX for cancelling it. As for the X-Files, I only really liked the first couple of seasons, when the Cancer Man was actually menacing....

Couldn't really get into The Lone Gunmen. Especially after they all got killed off. Though that one guy is pretty much Darth from Wayne's World's clone.

And I loooooooove the soundtrack.

They're all doing different things and they actually want to do The Lone Gunmen again, but no one wants to work with Chris Carter since the Fox lawsuit involving the second X-Files movie.

Agent Reyes. Too one-dimensional and boring.

I personally like Doggett and Reyes myself, I can't really say that there are
any characters I dislike. I like both Mulder/Scully & Doggett/Reyes relationship. I'd have to say my favorite character is Skinner though, very intriguing character. I know a lot of old school x-files fans out there hate Doggett and Reyes, I'm not really surprised though. It's one of those things you either love or hate. Although I like Doggett and Reyes, I didn't like the fact that they dominated most of the ninth season. I think they make better supporting characters. The best part of the ninth season was the two hour finale. I honestly liked that finale better than the eighth seasons finale.

Easily my favorite show of all time.

Season 5is my favorite, though 4, 2, and 9 I like a lot too.

I loved the entire run of the show.

Correct. Sort of.

Twin Peaks really paved the way for the X Files. That in turn paved the way for Buffy, as well as the other shows you list.

I'd say my favorite seasons are 5 and 8...oddly enough. I did like a few episodes in 9 but the fact that the 'star of the show' was only in 2 episodes ruined it for me.

Did anyone notice that once Robert Patrick came on, that season 8 was obviously influenced by Terminater 2: Judgement Day? Especially the episode with the guy made of memory metal? Or the one with the black guy who was also in T2?

I watched it up to the second season of Dawget and Reas, I wasn't much of a fan of their seasons, I guess I was just too much of a Mulder and Scully fan to get used too the change of main characters.

And I liked all of the recurring characters, except maybe Doggett, and I don't know why... but Deep Throat, X, Scully, Mulder, Skinner, and especially CSM. I liked 'em all! I even remember CSM's parody of the Forrest Gump quote:

"Life, it's like a box of chocolates. Cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gifts that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable because all you can give is another box of chocolates... stuffed with undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sometimes you might come across a Penut Butter Cup, or an English Toffee... but they're gone too fast, and the taste is... fleeting. So you're left with nothing but broken bits full of hardened jelly and teeth-shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those, then, all you have left is... an empty box... filled with useless brown paper wrappings."

KyouryokuSenshi

Yeah, I remember that quote. That is one of my favorite from CSM.
