Meh, our family's supposedly Catholic yet we still ate meat and such during Lent and I don't remember ever going to Church on Easter Sunday. And I didn't give up anything for Lent.
I got a new keychain that doesn't embarrass the **** out of me, a bag with Hershey kisses in it, and $15 worth of iTunes. My grandpa got me the complete works of Shakespeare. I couldn't carry it up my steps.

My brother got a HUGE haul, however. You should have seen my sister's face....I thought she was contemplating murdering our dad. Plus we all get to split an easter basket full of chocolate. *eye twitch*

We're going to my grandma's and my mommy made EASTER PIE!!!!111 to take over.

This is the first time I found out about that Lent nonsense. And the first thing I thought I heard when my co-worker told me about it was 'Lint'. My response, "I'm sorry, I don't do dust."

Man, how do you guys go without meat? I needs my animal food. So yeah, I'm like 5% Catholic. That 5% is divided amongst my entire body. Meaning, you can find traces of it ONLY in my pores.

Yeah, my co-worker explained it afterward. I don't think there's anything I can sacrifice. I don't really pay mind to my habits since I really have none. I guess I can say that I sacrificed weed and liquor. I guess that could count for something. =/

Happy Easter, everyone.

I gave up arbitrary violence for Lent and though I wasn't very successful at it, I did learn a bit of self-restraint in the meantime. ^_^

I hope Christians and non-Christians are enjoying today in either case.

The Easter Bunny's feet
Go hop, hop, hop,
While his big pink ears
Go flop, flop, flop.
And Reidar waits, hungry and ready
Chop, chop, chop
With his machete.

I have never been to a four hour mass, Mass usually cuts out in 35-45 minutes depending on the priest. Being part of the original orthodoxy mnakes it impossible to be heretical, you heretict!

This has been the worst Easter ever!! I could still see and TASTE yolk in the Deucin' potato salad. I hate yolk! I mean, I really hate it. A perfectly good Holiday gone down the drain. "But Midoriko, Easter isn't about your potato salad." Well, I think I speak for Jesus (maybe not) when I say, the maker of that potato salad should rot... Hmm, I'd better stop, I think my mom made it... :(

Anywho, Happy Easter, persons. :)

mmm the thing about polish people and easter, YOU EAT A LOT OF FOOD ON EASTER. this i probably bigger then thanksgiving in terms or holiday feasting. This sort of stuff makes me proud of my heritage.

Fried Kielbasa, and Pirogies are the best!!!!

I also like Kiszka, you Americans call it Blood Sausage.

My mass was like an hour and 15 minutes. There was 2050 people, the church only sits "1200" people. But every church is overflowing on easter.

On average we see like 1000 on any regular Sunday. It's these ala carte Christians that decide to turn up all of a sudden. Some times you see them on Psalm Sunday and Christmas, then never again.

Ever been to a polish Easter mass? My grandma takes eggs and other food to the chapel to get them blessed. hehe, for an atheist I come from a strong catholic family. It intrigues me, even if I don't care about the ceremony.

there is a Polish church in Harford, and it is huge, and it's beautifully decorated inside. The ceremony consists of an English and a polish version of the same mass, and lasts about and hour.

 i never thought i knew so much about easter, I never really paid much attention to it.

Haha, our church as well as most churches worldwide will probably attest to this epidemic of greater numbers during Easter as well, terrence, so I definitely sympathize with your occupancy issues.

However, I'd like to impart upon you something my parish priest told me once: "The church is not a showcase for saints, but a sanctuary for sinners." Now, I can't help but like it particularly b/c of the use of consonance, but it's also a very important lesson when dealing with those of our flock that seem less dedicated.

So, next time you see someone in your church that you don't recognise, ask their name and tell them that you'd like to see them back there the following Sunday. We have the church community for a reason, and it's not merely to pass judgment on each other. :)
