So after the last Windows Updates installation on my computer, I keep getting this message popping up after Windows XP loads up.

As I'm no expert when it comes to these kind of things, I don't know what it means or how to go about stopping this message from popping up, because it's annoying. Can anyone here who knows what this message is trying to tell me in simple terms, please tell me what it's saying and how I can go about fixing it without just having to do a System Restore?

A lot of people have been getting this problem - Microsoft issued another patch: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935448/

Hope that helps!

It's a good thing you didn't google this actually. Smart decision on your part. You probably would have ended up downloading some "quick fix" that was actually spyware or a virus. Getting a virus in a system file is bad, so always go to Microsoft.com and do a search there for DLL failures and HHCTRL.OCX

did your computer crash recently?
