Who's seen it? That's a goooood movie!

I saw it. I need no condolences. I knew it would suck going in, so I simply got what I asked for. The important thing is to learn from the experience, Sangan. Remember, pain is just weakness leaving the body. There's no need to be so hard on yourself, really.

Stephen Chow is severely overrated. I'm not Chinese, and I don't get most of the cheesy humor. My aunt is Chinese and doesn't get most of the cheesy humor. Two of my half-chinese cousins have spent a year in China and don't get the cheesy humor.
I guess it's a communist thing.

Communist? but he's from Hong Kong isn't he?
Anyway, I actually liked Kung Fu hustle and have checked out some of his other flicks as well (From Beijing with Love, Shaolin Soccer) and I thought they were good in a dumb way. A lot of the references do have to be explained to me though as the play on words are usually lost in translation.

Hong Kong has it's share of communists, I think.
Steven Chow is great. Stop the frontage.

There were some parts that were cool. Fearless is better. I'd do Li any day.

I'm glad someone mentioned Fearless. I thought it was bad. Jet Li's character was totally unsympathetic, not remotely likable. The logic behind his actions was questionable at best, plus the whole blind girl thing was a massive cliche. The fights were pretty good, at least.
Jet Li was better in Hero, to me.

It's relative funny, I watch it in raw and read more detail in wikipedia so I can't comment on the story. ^^; I like how it's end though, from the part when Stephen Chow dress in white to the ending when he selling candy instead. The beggar scene offering the kungfu manual always crack me up. XD

...watch OLDBOY instead. Kung Fu Hustle is for commercial audiences.

I thought it was okay. But then again, I liked Jackie Chan's, "Gorgeous", so take that with a grain of salt.

Kung Fu Hustle is one of the funniest films I've ever seen. Uses special effects in the best way, too. And on the R3 DVD of it that I own, the stylised pic of Stephen Chow on the box looks just like my brother so I can tease him about it. ^_^
I love that film.
...maybe the R3 version had better subs or something? Or having my Chinese family over and explaining when they switch from Cantonese to Mandarin and such helped...?

I loved Shiolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle.

I liked it quite a lot, though not quite as much as I liked Shaolin Soccer. Still a good movie though.

Shaolin Soccer was the better movie, by far. The romance wasn't over done, the action was awesome, and amazingly enough, the special effects were incredible. Also, watch God of Cookery.

God of Cookery was awsome. The best of these type of movies is Drunken Wu Tang, that is because of the watermelon monster.

It is in fact a cult classic, long live the Watermelon Monster!:

Kung Fu Hustle was stupid—well, more like stupidly funny—but I still enjoyed it for what it was.

I loved Kung Fu Hustle. I own the DVD, and it's simply spectacular. Apparently, I don't have access to the wide array of martial arts movies some of y'all had, but that movie was great.

Maybe if you cry long and hard enough, everyone in the world will magically transform into a copy of you and then you'll never have to worry about different opinions or viewpoints ever again. :)

Says the guy who posts a thread about a movie on an internet forum and is angered when less than 100% of the posts are a rephrase of his own opinion. :naughty:

What; Stephen Chow has only done one other movie now?
I don't suppose anyone else here has seen "Royal Tramp"? It's 1000 times cheaper, 1000 times stupider and it's the only martial arts film I've ever seen that contains pickled penises...
