What's the best version of FFI and II to play? The originals, PS1, or the GBA version?

The psp versions but final fantasy 2 sucks regardless.

I thought the GBA versions were sufficient?

Well, that's if they don't screw up on the loading time...which I think wn't happen because it's more closer to a PS-X port

I'm going to be alone in saying this, but the original versions.

Even though I'm sure it doesn't need to be said, I'm going to say it anyways and say, "Do we really need so many remakes of the same two games?" I'll be honest, I only played a tiny bit of Final Fantasy I for NES and I've never played Final Fantasy II for the NES. As for the PS1 and GBA versions, that all depends on your preferences. The PS1 versions have much better sound quality. The GBA versions are handheld of course, while the PS1 versions aren't unless you're playing them on a PSP via an ISO of the game. The GBA versions also have extra stuff added to it. The GBA port/remake of Final Fantasy I has an added dungeon with lots of bosses, which are mostly bosses from Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI. Finally, the GBA version doesn't have loading times. I myself will pass on the PSP versions of both games since I don't have much of a desire to buy a PSP and I don't see any point in myself of picking up the same two games I already own just for a few extra features or whatever they're adding to it, which I don't know or really care about. I really don't see why Square is trying to milk everything they can from these two games. We really don't need anymore remakes/ports of them after the GBA versions I'd say.

Yes and No,

No because it's too much port. yes because people who never played it, especially due to not owning that console/handheld, now has the privlidge of playing it. I'm also pretty sure that the PSP version prints are not too high either. I'm pretty confident that SE has the production level planned out.

As for loading times, I don't think FF1 and 2 had a hugely noticable loading time, in fact it was probably pretty close to the GBA one. Atleast I don't remember the "stress" of loading. I think all of the Final Fantasy (except 4, 5, 6 on ps-x) had good loading times from what I remember and not thatmuch different from cart games.

Honestly.. there is no good version of Final Fantasy 1 and Final Fantasy 2.. they basically lack all storyline.. in general. It just train early and beat the boss.. its not too difficult and usually you have to guess where to go so.. yea..

NOW IF WERE COUNTING 4 AS FF2 then I disagree with myself. FF4 was great.

Well, I never got to play the original ones for the NES. I have both the ones for PS1 and the ones for GBA. I like both of them. But for some reason, they seem like they added a little more to the GBA version. Like the dungeons! But I like the one for PS1 because I can play them at home anytime and they are cool. I like the ones for GBA because I can take my Final Fantasy fix anywhere! lol And Although I do have a NES those games are probably almost impossible to find now. Even if a person could find them they are no doubt really expensive!

Ive only played the GBA versions of the games but I thoroughly enjoyed playing them both. Fair enough, the story is terrible but if you're anything like me, you can just sit and train for hours whilst watching the TV. I still havent beaten all the extra bosses that the GBA version has added. Maybe its time to dig it out again...

I have beaten all of the extra bosses but I haven't finished FF II for GBA yet. If I were you i'd dig it out again and play it!

I enjoyed the original FF on NES. I would say it was superior to all the remakes
