i had to put it here because its not an anime....

i 've been watching the ultraman dvds.....and its so friggen great....
but recently i've put on the english subtitle along with the english dubbed....and its almost like a diff story sometimes....

Well, if you're watching the kind of DVDs I think you are, the English translation is probably one of those low quality Hong Kong bootleg translations, yes?

not bootleg.....official like.......its just the lines are so diff sometimes....they had changed a lot of things in the initial translation to suit the American media

There was an official U.S. release of both the original Ultraman series and Ultraman Tiga.

The fansubbed Ultraman Nexus is the only one that I really like.. pure awesomeness.

And I really used to like the visual style of Ultraman Max, also only fansubbed.

Just so you're aware, Ultraman isn't the original. It's actually the second in the Ultra series (First was Ultra Q)

I watched the American Godzilla today, and a while ago, I watched Godzilla vs. Mothra. I noticed a stark contrast: the American view is that Godzilla is just another monster. The Japanese view is that he's a force of nature. Unstoppable, as you said, like a hurricane or a tornado. The American movie has WAY better production value (as only Hollywood can deliver), but the Japanese movies have WAY better interpretive value.

Also, Ultraman is ok. To me, he's just another weirdo in spandex.

godzilla is defeatable -_- .....and in a way he beat godzilla....they had actually too godzilla costume in a episode and paint sprayed the spikes and add a neck flap thingy......he basically had all the same powers as godzilla did at the time

Yeah I remember that, and episode 2 had King Kong with a phallic looking tail.

But... the whole post is voided by the fact that wasn't Godzilla in that episode it was... Oh great, I forgot the monster's name. Not to mention it wasn't killed by ULTRAMAN, you see, Ultraman was not in Ultra Q, as far as I remember, at least not episode 1. A construction crew accidently unearthed a big lizard creature, which was really nothing like Godzilla other than being a big walking lizard, and hatched a big bird thing, if I remember right, the big bird killed Godzilla-knockoff by pecking him in the eye, and they both wound up dying.

Oh and there was Japanese Urkle.

I used to have raws of the show, because a friend was trying to fansub it. It was good stuff.
