How many versions of eva are there? I was at boarders and I was reading like three different evangelions. What is the purpose of angelic days? There was also an article there about some chibi thing being started.

Hmm, off the top of my head I remember one manga following the storyline quite closely except for some dialogue changes.
Another was based off the alternate world at the end of episode 26. I do not know if that was ever brought over to the US though.
I'm sure Wikipedia knows.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - Appears to be the first commisioned manga. Follows the anime closely except for some distinct differences. Published by Viz.
Angelic Days - This is the one I mentioned which was based off the alternate reality. It was formally known as Girlfriend of Steel 2, which was the name of one of the Japanese games.
Shinji Ikari Raising Project - I don't have the slightest clue what this is, but apparently it follows the same timeline as Angelic Days (alternate reality Eva).

Ever heard of the Princess Maker game series? This was the Evangelion version. If you've not heard of it, in Princess Maker the premise is that you take delivery of a young adoptive daughter, and by your choices in the game, you determine how she will grow up. What will she study, what will she wear, what kind of hobbies will she have? All up to the player, although the game system curtails your freedom by way of money and time.
They made a "Princess Maker style" game for Shinji, for Rei, and for Asuka. None of them are available in English, although one of the generic Princess Maker games is avaialble in English for the PC.
I'd guess this manga is related somehow to Ikari Shinji Ikusei Keikaku the game.
