Darkness has spread through the world. A darkness that spreads faster than any cancer, or any wild fire. The darkness is of the plague of vampires and lythros that have crossed into the human world. The Humans who once held this world in a technological strangle hold now use their once weapons of mass destruction to protect themselves as a united humanity. There is very few human cities left that are completely uninhabitied by some influnce from either the Vampires or Lythros. The humans that do live in harmoy with them are little more than slaves. however a new breed of Human is beginning to surface. This new human is called a Trancer. Like the Vampires they live off of the life force of others.

However when they change they become a nearly unstoppable force of nature. Both the Lythros and Vampries have taken to hunting the Trancers in fear of loosing their power over the humans. However no truce has been called between the lythros and the Vampires as of yet. But how much longer that will last is to be seen.

<inside of Rott City>
(Rott City is one of the few human cities with little or not vampire interferance or lythro interferance. The City is called Rott City because it is the rotting remains of the last great city before the supernatural war between the vampires, lythros, and humans. The city was once called Manhattan.)

Down an alley way behind what once was called Broadway a man staggered along. In his hands the collection of information from a sorce older than the building standing in this rotting city. He slumps against the wall and looks at the old manuscrip and turns the first page. Pictures of humans with their eyes changing to a blood red ruby verson of it's former self can be seen. He runs his fingers over the page and a few drops of blood from the wound he had been holding falls on it's pages.

"Yes... Yes I found you..." He gasps as he holds it.

"The lost profecy of the last pure human profect... But I need help..." He thinks aloud as he gets up and tries to walk down the ally again.

"I need someone to translate it... I know the picture is of one us... One of the trancers... But what does this mean?" he saies as he stumbles across the street and into the psychic shop where he hopes to find someone able to translate the strange writting for him.

History
Charles was born on the streets of a vampire ran city located where Chicago use to be. His mother escaped and performed various acts to get both him and herself to a human city. The last city she would see alive was the human residenance city New Hope located in the Oklahoma City area. She was killed there by another human who was trying to steal what little money she had. When she was killed Charles ran at the man and latched on to him. He didn't know what was happening at first until his eyes turned blood red and he drained all of the life force out of the man. When the man's friends tried to help him this seemingly weak 10 year old tossed them away easily. Believed to be a half vampire he was thrown out of the city. Walking and hitching rides when able he made his way toward old New York. There he found others like himself and learned that he was infact a Trancer. They spoke of the profecy and how they needed to find the lost manuscript of Lethos. Lethos was a profet who lived back durning the early days of the Country known as the United States. Believed that he was a witch he was burned at the stake after he had writted a book containing all of the knowlage he was given from a force still unknown today. Lethos' profecy spoke of the Vampires taking the world as it is known and a new race coming to defeat them. That a special one would be the only one strong enough.

However The Trancers needed more information and had been searching for the lost manuscript since then.

Special Skills
Charles is adapt at hotwiring old cars and can make nearly any old machine run. However he is limited to what he can do because of lack of power in some of the cities and lack of resources in some.

Strenght
As a Trancer Charles has what is known as the omega strenght. He can move almost faster than the human eye can see and flip cars over out of the way. As a human he is only as powerful as a man his size and age.

Trancer ability
Being a younger trancer he can only hold his power for 30 minutes without feeding and then can only hold the trancer ability as long as he is feeding. meaning if he lets go then he goes back to being a normal human.

Main enemies
Vampires, Lythros, and Traditionals (Humans that believe that trancers will simply become like the vampires that they are trying to destroy.)

The road just outside of Rott City seemed more dead today than the other days. The young man standing inside of a psychic shop watched the wind blowing an oversized tree in what was once a truck stop. He grinned and almost laughed at himself. To think that people would accually stop on that road and not drive straight through. He had walked a good part of it before and knew better than to stop at the old places. Crazed humans, outcast vampires and lythros. Nothing there was safe. And if you where insane enough to step onto their land without some kind of payment than you where crazier than they where. Hearing something he turned back to see the old woman.

Like himself she was a trancer, but she was older than most. Her evolution happened years ago before the war really broke out.

"Charles Bonnet!" She said louder with authority.

"Yeah, Yeah old woman. What now?" He asked.

"The book ya' brought back isn't the right one! It's one of his, but not the complete one. That means that he hid it in sections like Bradly said." The old woman told him.

He thought of Bradly. His friend who was one of the smartest people he knew. And how Bradly had been wounded to the point of death thanks to the Lythros.

"So that means that there is other places he could have hidden it in the old fort. Great...." He said making circles with his eyes.

"Do you know how hard it was to sneak in there in the first place?" He asked her knowing that she didn't know the right answer.

"No but you have to go again. You are the traveler and thus it is part of your job." She told him. Nodding he looked agian and walked toward the door.

"Alright just have my pay ready for when I get back." He said heading out.

The lone girl darted out from behind the building, having been watching the exchange between the woman and the man, supposedly "Charles".
Hey, you! You're a Trancer, aren't you? she yelled, producing a three part staff from underneath her massive right sleeve... well, both were massive, but who cared about that. As far as Nikki Stavenstein was conderned, all that mattered was making sure this man wasn't a Vampire in disguise. Or a Lythros, for that matter. She ran towards him , staff assembled, and jumped in the air. Most girls her age stayed at home, quilting and all else worrying that either a Vampire or Lythros was going to at their door any second. But not Nikki. She made a vow. She would protect herself, and not give in to the evil creatures. Trancers were okay, but still... they touched a nerve, now that Cam was dead.

((btw, Cam will be mentioned, he is her dead Trancer boyfriend))

Charles turned around and saw the girl in time to dodge the staff and get a foot in the face. He fell back and looked at her.

"Believe it or not Trancers are pretty much human when not provoked!" he said with a growl.

"What do you want girl? I don't have all day and I have a long way to travel." He said watching her. His mood set by making another three day journey looking for a book that had been hidden for the better part of 300 years.

Nikki set her face in a glare at the man, but it stopped when she heard his words.
So you are a Trancer? she asked, staff in one hand and her other hand slowly moving towards her sash across her waist. She moved into a martial arts pose, ready to fight if the boy did anything.
Speak, and answer truthfully, or I will show you what a provoked human girl can do!
Her face twisted into a frown as she noticed a slight resemblence to Cam. Hand in sash, she moved slowly towards the Trancer.

He stared at the girl for a moment and then walked toward where she was walking. He was controlling his power and not changing in her sight. He found that a lot of normal humans found this to be a threat when it was as normal for a trancer to do this as a human's stomach to growl.

"normal humans...." He said the phrase with a little anger in his voice.

"You know I've seen more than my share of normal humans acts of 'friendship'." he said watching her.

Finally convinced that she wasn't going to pose a threat to him he dropped his guard. acting more comfortable around her.

"So... What are you doing here?" he asked her.

Me? Oh, I just float around Rott City, she said boredly, spitting out the word Rott,
I'm trying to rally the other normal humans against the Lythros and Vampires, but they are too scared. So I try to defend the city by myself! she got louder, empahsising normal and the last two words.

"Good luck with that." He said as he started to leave again. This time he felt her eyes watching the back of his head. He turned to see her staring at him almost as if she was expecting him to follow her into a war outside of this city.

"You need the help of the Trancers and you don't know how to ask us. Like the Traditionals you fear us and hate us with no real reason. I suggest that you either follow me into the world and find out how to ask for help or you see the old woman." He said waiting for her answer.

You think I don't know how to ask, do you? Well then, Nikki walked over to Charles,
Help me defeat the Vampires and Lythros, Charles Bonnet. I would appreciate it if you did, she said boldly. Curtsying, she added,
My name is Nicole Stavenstein, but my friends call me Nikki. If you so choose to allow me to accompany you, then I will regard you as a close enough friend to allow you to call me Nikki.
Remembering her mother's wish for her to be polite at all times, she spoke formally.
But think about betraying me, or abandoning me, and you will feel the sharp side of this, she concluded, whipping out her knife and holding it at the man's throat,
this knife is sharpened daily, so you would be advised to not force me to use it on you, Nikki growled, putting it away, but still keeping a firm grip on her staff.

Smiling his first real smile in nearly ten years Charles nodded.

"Don't worry we don't leave our own behind, and if you follow me then you are one of our own. Just keep up and pull your weight." Charles said as they headed out of the city.

He looked at the old cars setting in the city and made a mential note of which ones to part out to finish putting the old ford van together. He wished that he would have finished it before he left last time. He could hear Nikki's breathing behind him and then stopped.

"Be slient and don't move, we are not alone." he said as he looked toward the left side of them.

He knew that the outside of Rott City was basically a breading ground for outcast vampires and lythros. However recently human bandits had taken to living just past the outer layers of the city. He could hear them now. Granted without his Trancer ability kicked in he couldn't tell how many or how far exactly, but he knew that there was more than the two of them. Groaning he wished again he had gotten the van running. At least then he wouldn't have to waste a transformation on theives.

"Come out you theiving bastards!" Charles shouted.

Suddenly a pipe found it's way to his waist and he stepped back nearly doubling over from the pain. The human that threw it stepped out. His hair and face both dirty. He looked as though he had missed a few meals and friends looked the same. One of them carried what was left of an old stop sign. Charles guessed that the edges of it had been sharppened.

"Now kindly hand over your money, any possessions, and the girl. Do that and we'll let you off with a warning." the leader of the bandits said.

"If that is your idea of a joke I am not amused." Charles said as he watched the others.

"It's not like you're a vampire freak!" One of the other's shouted at him.

He growled and his eyes began to change colors. Both of them glowed a blood ruby red as he reached down and flipped up a man hole cover. He threw it and cut one of the bandits in half. The others stood there in a stuper until one of the shouted.

"HE'S A ****ING TRANCER!!!!!" one of them shouted to the others.

Instead of running away several of the others grabbed their weapons.

"You're dead *******! We hate ****ing Trancers!" the Bandit leader said as he began walking closer.

"Yeah the girl has to be too! They always travel in packs! We'll kill him and knock her out! Then we'll sell her as a slave to those vamps down the highway!" One of the back bandits said.

[Kali-chan]

I can pull twice my weight if need be,
she stated jokingly. Smiling as well, she gasped when the pipe seemingly came out of no where.

She couldn't believe that she was being treated like a possession. When Charles transformed and the bandits started to attack, calling her a Trancer,
Nikki grew serious.
You are fools to think that you can take me that easily! And I am not a Trancer! she yelled. Hearing them mention the Vampires, she snapped and whipped out her knife again.
You b**tards! she screamed, jumping at the nearest one. She slashed him across the legs and moved on to the next.
Incapacitate, no need to kill, she told herself, avoiding the stop sign as the carrier threw it at her.
Don't underestimate me, boys! she cried, bringing her staff around and knocking the wind out of the one who had thrown the sign. Whipping around, her hair flying, she whacked the next one and raced over to Charles.
Are you okay? I don't have any medicine or bandages on me, but if we can shake these guys off, then I can take you to my place, she said softly.

The remaining two bandits took off toward their hole. Charles nodded and pulled up a pair of sunglasses. He sat down and recessed the urge to feed off of the energy from the surviving Bandits that where wounded.

"Yeah, I just hate transforming for something as trivial as this." He said as sweat poured from his brow.

He could feel how close she was to him and shook his head.

"Not a good idea... We trancer's esspecially young ones like me can feed from about any point. And it's not something that I would want to do to a friend. I usually take the lifeforce from lythros or halfbreed vampires out here. Don't believe in feeding off of humans." He said as he kicked one of the bandits trying to get up in the head.

"Not even scum like this." He added as he got up.

He felt the urge to mame and destroy. The almost unstoppable desire to kill. That was one of the huge curses of being a Trancer. Granted you gained huge amounts of power, but it had its price. Slowly the light dissappeared from his eyes and they returned to their normal color. He took the sun glasses off and looked at Nikki.

"We've got a long ways to go." he said as they started traveling again. He knew that the bandits had mentioned something about vampires out here and guessed that they must be taking residents at a rest stop not far off of the road. They needed to find shelter before dark and that ment one of two places. One was the old Ratcliff inn a mile off of the road. It was still used, but mainly as a halfway house for Trancers and bad *** human mercs. The other was known as Riles farm. It was an old farm house that had been abandonded for years and he hoped that it was still was.

"We'll have to stop for night. Too dangerous to be out here past sunset. There's a couple of places to stay at. Neither one is completely safe so do you like being around people or quiet?" He asked her.

raya looked around her mink and crow on her sholder. she sat down by a tree her scythe close to her side.
"what a strange place huh demos?" she asked her crow
"kawwwwww!" he responded
her eyes shifted from side to side looking out for dnager.

Bradon looked around the area he left. A few of his friends where dead from that trancer and that girl. He growled and looked over the ones not dead. All of them would need some kind of medical treatment. looking around he decided to call his 'friends' the outcast vampires and 'donate' the worst of the wounded to them.

"So Brandon... Tell me... Who did this to your friends?" The leader of the outcast ones asked.

"A damned Trancer and some **** he was with." Brandon said.

"Trancerssss... dirty lot. nothing more than low level vampires they are." The leader said.

"Yeah... Guess so..." He answered.

"This will allow you to pass our domain. Also Tersia has asked of you." The leader said.

Brandon shuttered slightly. The girl was a vampire he had given a captured man to. He didn't know it but she developed a crush on him and he supposed that she wanted to transform him.

Nikki smiled.
Didn't you hear me? I said that there's a place that I stay at not too far from here, we can go there and tend to our wounds. Do you listen, or is there too much wax in your ears? she giggled. Going serious, she stood up.
I will listen to you, though, and keep my distance, at least a bit. I know what Trancers can do; I kissed one... but you don't want to hear about my past, do you? she said. Taking him by the arm, she dragged Charles a few blocks over to an old shack.
Home sweet home. I come here at least once a day to make sure no one or nothing inhabits it. It's pretty clean, and bandits have only raided it twice! I hope you like my gourmet, though, there's not much of a food option... she announced proudly. Heading over to a cupboard, she grabbed something that looked like it had mold on it, and cut it up so the mold was gone.
Do you like soup? It's the only thing I'm really good at cooking, she asked, building a small fire next.
Sorry about the antiquity, I'm pretty poor... as is the rest of Rott City, Nikki apologized. She finished the work and invited him to sit on an old worn couch on the side, while she pulled a table from a closet.
And the eating place is established. It's so nice to have company! Once we are finished eating, I will tend your wounds, okay? she sat down on a couch opposite him.

He watched her gather food and go about her duties as if this was the most natural thing in the world. At first his mind was amazed that someone still had a sence of normancy. His mother had told him stories of what it was like to live a normal life. Well as normal as one could in this world.

"Sorry that I didn't hear you clearly." He said as she handed him a bowl of soup. He took a bite and it wasn't bad. He supposed that whatever had mold on it wasn't so bad.

:Ariana was on her way home from a somewhat long day at work. Things were getting to be worse than before, and customers ere few and far between at the cafe. She only worked for scraps of food, and a few dollars a week. She didn't mind though it got her through.:

"Saa, what a day." : She meandered down the street, he usual route home, but this time there was a small fight that had broken out in the street. A couple of humans where fighting with a lythro over something. She decided to avoid going that way. She didn't feel up to getting in a scuff today. So instead she took the long way around. As she did she spotted some girl litterally dragging some guy behind her. She laughed a bit, happy to see that people could manage anything but sadness in times like these.:

"I wonder where she's taking him. Maybe if I follow... Bah. What am I thinking? It's not right to follow people around like that." : She sighs, and looks up at the dull sky, then grins.:

"As if I have anything better to do." : Laughing to herself and feins going into sneaky mode, following the two of them carefully.:

she ran with her white mink who she calls rephy until they got to the others.

It's okay, you were still thinking about the bandits. I've lived here for at least three years, although there has been huge blocks of time when I haven't been able to come here. When I came back, Vamps had taken over the place. See this burn mark, here? she pointed to a spot on the wall,
I had no other option but to use fire to drive them out. I didn't have my knoife or staff then; my knife is made of silver and could have handled them easily. Oh, I'm talking too much, how about you? Whay's your business here? she asked, sitting down and eating the soup.

her mink growled more and arched its back.
"its ok boy nothing to be afraid of" she said softly picking him up and looking at what might be vampires..or some other type of creature.
she proped herself up with her scythe and smiled slightly.

:Ariana saw the two of them go into a slightly delapidated place, although, it seemed a bit nicer than her place. Sneaking up, she peered into the window. She could smell something yummy on the air when she walked up, and her tummy growled at her as she stared through the window at the two of tem eating soup.:

"Ahh.. I'm so hungry.. " :she pouts a moment, and intends to walk off now that she found where they were, but as she turned to walk away, she lost her footing and fell back hard against the window, breaking a panel and almost hurting herself seriously from the glass.:

"hello my name is raya" she said holding out her hand wanting to help her up.
demos let out a screatch "kaaww kaawww!"
raya stuck her finger up by her sholder and and demos hoped on.
"its ok demos" she said then looked at the girl, she held her giant black scythe close to her. she helped her up.

:Ariana took Raya's hand and got up, brushing herself off:

" I'm probably in trouble now.. " :She looked back through the window at the two staring at her for breaking the window.:

"I'm Ariana. It's nice to meet you I guess. Although the circumstances are odd." :She looks around for a place to hide before either of the two in the shack come out all pissed off at the broken window. But when she looked back though the window she noticed that the guy had gone back to his soup and the girl just shook her head kind of annoyedly and went back to talking.:

"Oh thank god. I thought they were going to try to get some money out of me for that.. And I am so broke. Then again, who isn't..?" : She looked at the mink and smiled, holding her hand out to pet him, but being cautious so as not to scare him.:

rephy smelt the girls hand then licked her finger.raya smiled. "dont worry im broke as all get out to." she laughed slightly and stroked demos.
"so what are you doing around this area?" she asked putting her scythe on her back and straping it up.

"I had to take the long way home. I didn't want to get into a fight for no reason, and there were people doing jus that on my normal route."

:She smiles at Rephy and lightly pets him, loving how soft his fur is.:

"I was going home from work, and saw those two. I don't know why really, but I felt the need to follow them. So I did, and here I am... .breaking their window."

:She sighs softly at the window.:

" I'm just glad they don't seem angry."

On the outskirts of the city that was once Philadelphia, a boy of eleven runs, keeping a tight grip on his six year-old sister's hand. They were fleeing a relatively young vampire, seeking the sweet blood of youth. Utilizing it's abilities, it dashed ahead of them to cut them off.

"It was a fun game, mortals, but now it's over. Now you feed me." The creature of the night lashed out, knocking the boy to the ground and grabbing the girl. "You shall be first, my dear."

A flash of silver streaked through the glare of a streetlight, striking the night-demon in the bicep. The vampire shrieked in agony and dropped the child. "Now that's not very nice, undead scum."

"Who...Who are you?!"

There was a whisper as twin blades slid from leather sheathes and formed the shape of the cross, causing the vampire to flinch and step back. "I am the instrument of the Lord, messenger of the divine punishment of Heaven. You need know no more, for I shall end your accursed existence here and now. May God have mercy on your dark and twisted soul."

The newcomer dashed forward, blades a blur. The vampire, young as it was, didn't stand a chance. Leaving a drifting pile of ash, Father Kyle O'Torrin walked over to the children. "Are you alright, my children?"

The boy, eyes wide, spoke. "A-aye, Father. Thanks to you."

"Nay, thank the Lord for your salvation. I am merely the sword. It is His hand that wields this sword. Go in peace, my children, and thank Him your every waking moment for this gift He has granted you." With that, Kyle turned and walked his own path. He had to find where his apprentice had gotten to. She was skilled, but a bit of a handful.

On the outskirts of Philidelphia, a small field that had once contained beautiful flowers now was a charcoal pit. A young girl ran around, trying to find at least one flower that was alive.
Kalina, shouldn't you go find Father? asked a disimbodied voice. Kalina stood up from being bent over and grinned to the air. A light blue-haired being appeared in front of her.
Nemi, I was just about to og, silly! Kalina laughed, inside groaning because her friend had caught her playing. Nemi shook her head and diasppeared.
Time to find Father! Kalina giggled, holding the amulet around her neck.

There you are! she cried, seeing the warrior priest.
You ran off; I was looking for you!
Nemi made herself visible to only Kyle.
She was playing, she told him,

raya sighed. then looked at the girl "im a vampire hunter...but if you are one of them not toworry im not going to kill you." she smiled

It's okay, you were still thinking about the bandits. I've lived here for at least three years, although there has been huge blocks of time when I haven't been able to come here. When I came back, Vamps had taken over the place. See this burn mark, here? she pointed to a spot on the wall,
I had no other option but to use fire to drive them out. I didn't have my knoife or staff then; my knife is made of silver and could have handled them easily. Oh, I'm talking too much, how about you? Whay's your business here? she asked, sitting down and eating the soup.

"Working for the order. And living in one of the few free cities left in the world." He said as he ate.

He looked around the surroundings and wondered how long Rott City would be free. The attacks from outcast vampires and lythros had been happening more and more often now.

"So tell me... Other than finding help for the campain that you're going on, why else do you want to follow me into the wilderness?" He asked her.

: Ariana shook her head and smiled lightly.:

"Not to worry. I'm just a normal person. Or as normal as it gets for now a days."

:She shurgs lightly and smirks:

"But even if you were going to attack me, I'm sure I could hold my own better than you think."

: Her smirk fades in a light, now more friendly smile.:

"I don't like to fight, but I know how."

raya smiled softly and shook her hand also.
"ah i dont realy like to kill...but if some one is trying take my blood there dead"

"Sounds reasonable enough to me."

:Ariana brushed herself off a little better, and peered back through the window.:

"I think we should go, before they change their mind about the window."

:Ariana took Raya's hand and kind of guided her away.:

"If you'd like we can go to my place for a little bit. I think I have some food left over from work yesturday, and I'm sure there's a little something for your friends too."

On the outskirts of Philidelphia, a small field that had once contained beautiful flowers now was a charcoal pit. A young girl ran around, trying to find at least one flower that was alive.
Kalina, shouldn't you go find Father? asked a disimbodied voice. Kalina stood up from being bent over and grinned to the air. A light blue-haired being appeared in front of her.
Nemi, I was just about to og, silly! Kalina laughed, inside groaning because her friend had caught her playing. Nemi shook her head and diasppeared.
Time to find Father! Kalina giggled, holding the amulet around her neck.

There you are! she cried, seeing the warrior priest.
You ran off; I was looking for you!
Nemi made herself visible to only Kyle.
She was playing, she told him,

Kalina groaned, and Kyle hid a grin. He knew she hated the training. "Right, now let's go. I don't want to meet an elder vampire in the deep dark of night."

raya smiled and headed off with her new found friend Ariana
she smiled a bit.
"sounds wonderfull...i would love to go to your place"
she said softly

:Ariana lead the way back to her place, fussing with the lock on the door as soon as they got there.:

"It'll just be a second, this thing is just so old that it doesn't like to unlock regularly anymore."

:She manages to get the door unlocked, and lets the door fall open, stepping inside and setting her things on a small table near the door.:

"It's kind of run down, but it serves it purpose. Make yourself at home."

Kyle shook his head, amusement and mild annoyance warring in his mind. He spoke quietly to Nemi. "Blessed are the innocent, for to be carefree in this dark time is truly a wonderful thing. If only I could be that joyful, but such is not my fate."

Okay, Father! Kalina smiled as she took his hand and let him lead her off. Nemi took a few minutes to pray to God, then disappeared and followed the two.

she sat down in a chair and smiled
demos flew to a post and wraped his wings around himself.

:Ariana rumaged through her kitchen for what ever food she could find. She managed to find some hard bread for Demos, some left over carrots for Rephy, and a couple roast beef sammiches for herself and Raya:

" Here you are. I wok at a little cafe. I happen to be the only employee they can afford anymore, and that's mainly because all I ask for in payment are some of the left overs from the day."

: She smiles handing Raya the sammich on a plate, and sets a glass of water next to her on the small coffee table. She sits down herself and takes a small bit of the sandwich, but soon gets a slightly serious look on her face, as if she were kind of deep in thought.:

Father Kyle O'Torrin led his pupil and her guardian angel into the heart of the city. The once great, historical, heavily-populated Philadelphia was now almost empty of life. The vast majority of the activity in the city came from the ghouls, those unfortunate souls that had been drained by the vampires who had conquered the city. No mindless zombies, they wandered the streets, decaying as they went, seeking the living to devour.

Kyle, disintegrating yet another ghoul, muttered under his breath. "There's a special place in Hell for vampires and their ilk."

He made his way to a small church, long since abandoned, but it should be safe from most of the dangers inherent in the city. Leading Kalina in, he waited for the slight breath of cool wind that meant that an invisible Nemi had brushed past him, then shut the door. "Right, now that we can relax a bit, what do you want to eat for dinner, Kalina?"

He took off his backpack and started going through the various foodstuffs inside. "Remember, we want something that'll stick with us for awhile."

((And now I need a hand with Catholocism. Apart from the "No meat on Fridays or through Lent, I have no idea if there's anything special that Catholics eat. Of course, here in New Jersey it is now 1:22 AM on a Friday in Lent, so...Who wants some fish?))

"Well, what say we call the community to Mass? I'll go ring the bell, and anyone left alive who wishes may come and seek the Lord's blessing while taking sustenence from His gift of food."

Kyle did so, knowing as he did that the likelyhood of anyone remaining alive in this wasted city was slim to none. He also knew it would alert the vampires that someone was alive in this place, and the stronger ones would come calling. Still, if it made Kalina feel any better it would be worth it. He entered a confessional and looked Heavenward. "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. This mortal flesh of mine is weak, and though my soul constantly seeks to do Your work, it is hampered by the shell which houses it. For the weakness of body, I have failed You on many occaisions, and I beg Your forgiveness for my failure."

He crossed himself and left the booth. He sought out Nemi, feeling for her holy aura since she was invisible. He kept his voice low to avoid alerting Kalina. "Nemi? I have a request for you. On the off chance that there is someone left alive who will atempt to reach the church, could you pull some strings up top to have them watched? I would forever hate myself if I had indirectly killed an innocent by summoning them to Mass."

:Ariana blinked a moment and shook the look off her face.:

"Do.. do you think I could travel with you?"

:Ariana looks around her small living room and sighs softly:

"I can't stand this place anymore. And I can't stand the stat of living the world is in. This isn't living at all, it's just clawing for solid ground in the middle of the ocean... I hate it.."

: She set her sandwich down on the table, holding one shoulder hoping she hadn't over stepped her boundaries by asking.:

Nemi smiled although she was invisibe and spoke softly.
As you wish, Father Kyle, she said.

Kalina grinned as she opened the tabernacle. Genuflecting again, she finished with the alter and went to the back of the church.
If someone comes, then I have to get dressed to serve, she told herself.

Nemi went to the top of the bell tower and prayed to the Lord.
Lord, my God, please protect those who come for thy Holy Mass. Please bless thy people and bring them to thy house. I pray to thee on behalf of thy son, Father Kyle O'Torrin.
As she prayed to her Father, He sent a rustle of wind down.
Thy prayers have been answered, my child. Daylight will last.
Nemi blessed herself and came back down.
Father? The Lord has heard my prayer. We will have a few more hours of daylight, she informed him.

"I thank you, Nemi, and I thank the Lord. I'll ring the bell again, then wait outside to welcome any who come, as well as destroy any ghouls."

Ringing the bell again, he stepped out and found, to his surprise, that some people were already coming. The two children that he had rescued earlier, an elderly couple, three middle-aged women...the numbers continued to grow, and he was amazed that so many had survived for so long.

"Welcome, my children. and may the Lord's blessing always be with you. Enter and be at peace once again."

"Hmmmm. I can understand wanting to leave the city. Although this is about as Vampire free and Lythro free as you can get." He said as he looked out the reinforced window pane.

He knew that even something reinforced would do little against a vampire or a Trancer when provoked. Still it was enough to give the person a piece of mind.

"Tomorrow we have several miles to go. We don't have the Luxary of having a running automobile. Which means basically we're walking." He said.

shur i dont mind...as long as you dont get in the way of fights" she sad smiling a bit
she set her sandwitch down and leaned back

" Don't worry, I won't get in the way."

:Ariana picked her own sandwich back up and kind of scarffed it down.:

"Ahm, that was good. I'm going to go get my things together."

: She takes her plate to the kitchen and wanders into her room, digging about for a moment and coming back out with a few things in a small messenger bag and her clothes changed.:

" Chow down, and let me know when, and where you want to go. I'll be in the kitchen to see what little food I have left that we could take with us."

raya nodded and smiled once again, she then scarfed down her sandwitch and stood up.
" there is no need to bring food...ill hunt." she said
demos screached loudly and flew to Ariana and landed on her sholder.
he nibbled on her cheek giving her kisses.
"i see he likes you...but we should get going."

Grinning, Nikki grabbed a few things and threw them into a bag.
Then it's a good thing I wasn't planning on taking very much! she said, giggling. Taking out her staff, she ran her fingers up it and felt for splinters.
Feels good to me, she said, folding it up and placing it in her sleeve. Next she sharpened and polished her knife.
THat's good, she concluded, hiding the knife in her sash.
I'm ready to go tomorrow... you can stay here if you want, but if you don't, there are inns that are still open... she told him.

[Sixteen]

"Don't plan on staying at an inn. If I really wanted I could go to the tower garage on 4th. That's my place. But here works for me." He said as he looked around for a place to sleep.

"Any place perticallar to sleep or just on the floor?" He asked.

(Hope that you don't mind but I am going to rush this toward the break of daylight.)

His answer came with a pillow and blanket being thrown at him. He grabbed both of them and looked at a thread baren couch. Nodding he walked toward it and streched out.

The next morning he got up and looked around the small area. He grabbed his gear that he had brought and began getting ready.

:Ariana smiled and gave Demos a soft pet. Nodding she gathered her things and set them near the door.:

" I think tonight, we should sleep. I have an extra matress on the floor in my room. We can sleep there."

: She held a finger out for demos, and her climbed onto it so Ariana could hand him back to Raya.:

"Lets get some rest. We can set off tomorrow."

: She wandered back to her room and try going to sleep, laying out blankets and pillows on the matress before doing so. Unfortunately the whole night Ariana was unable to sleep. All she could think about was getting out of this rotting rut of a town.:

she put demos on a pole and picked up her furry friend bringing him to the room.

The next morning he got up and looked around the small area. He grabbed his gear that he had brought and began getting ready.

Nikki stretched as she got out of her small cot in the corner. Rubbing her eyes, she yawned and made more soup for breakfast.
Sorry, but soup's my specialty, she told him. Looking around, she made sure that she had everything that she wanted for the journey, adding a few girlish items.
You ready? she asked.

Nemi nodded and went up to the alter, standing with her head bowed to the side. Kalina was happy that so many people had come, but remembering that she was in the House of God, she refrained form jumping around.

[Sixteen]

He watched her gathing her things and shook his head at the more girlish items. Knowing better than to critize he started to walk out the door. He felt her following him.

[Kali-chan]

((you do realize that by girlish items, I meant feminine products, right? I won't go into any more detail, but yeah...))

Nikki noticed his displeasure at her choice of luggage, but she knew she needed it. Following him, she grinned.
Finally getting out of this dump! she sang softly.

(Understand completely... But he's been pretty much on his own for a long time. Not that he's a terrible person or anything but he's not use to seeing feminine products too much.)

"Yeah take a good look around cause it will be a few days until we see this place again." He said as they walked down the street.

Before too long they had walked near the entrance of the city.

"If you need anything else now is the time." He said as he stood there at the entrance of the city.

: Eventually Ariana stopped trying to sleep somewherein the middle of the night, closer to early morning. She gets up and wanders out into the living room of her little rut of a home.:

"I'm going to be leaving all this. Finally."

: She writes out a small note to her manager at the cafe for her to leave under the door for him to find.:

:Ariana hears Raya get up and gether herself and her pets.:

"Are you ready? We can just go now. while you were alseep I meandered back to the cafe I work at and left a message for him."

: Ariana grabbed her bag and looked around one last time.:

raya nodded and picked up her furry friend.
"ya im ready lets get going" she said smiling then picking up her scythe and a small poutch.
" where going to be stoping at a small town on the other side of the forest...i need to take care of some buisness" she said as they walked out the door

"Alright, anything if fine with me."

:Ariana held the door open for Raya, then closed and locked it behind the both of them as they left. She was sure that eventually she would find herself back here, and she'd need a place to stay.:

"Goodbye Rott City."

: Ariana nodded and her and raya made there way to the edge of town. When they got there Ariana noticed the two people she had followed the night before.:

"Hey.. what are they doing here?"

: Being more surious that logical, she wander her way over to them, not sure what she would say when she got there, but thought it kind of a funny coincidence to be seeing them again.:

Nikki felt like they were being watched. Turning around, she saw a black haired girl staring at them.
Excuse me for a moment, Charles, she said, whipping out her kife and holding it under her sleeve in her left hand. Walking slowly towards the girl, she kept her face passive.
Do you want something? she asked upon reaching Ariana, smiling warmly. Disguising her emotions had been useful when faced by Vampires.
Would that something possily be a... knife to the throat and a willingness to inform me as to why you were following my partner and I? she asked more coldly, whipping her hand out of her sleeve and holding the knife against her throat, allowing the blade to rest just above the skin.
One move and you're dead. Explain! she said, coldly.

[Amiboshi_music]

: Ariana blinked a bit at her situation and sighed.:

"So prone to violence before allowing one to explain. I just thought it was an odd coincidence that I saw the both of you yesturday on my way home from work, and then again today intending to leave town just like my friend and I."

:Ariana seemed a bit annoyed at the kinfe against her throat, and she decided to fix that, it one smooth motion, she grabbed the girls wrist, twisted it outward and pushed herself away, causing the girl to staggar just slightly.:

"I don't take kindly to threats, though, and I am capable of correcting wrongs done to me."

((Kali-chan, I must ask you to drive Father Kyle through the service. Apart from way too much smoke and way too much Latin, I don't know much about Catholic services.))

Kyle waited for as long as he could, watching the sun dip, once again, below the horizon. Once it's rays disappeared he turned and re-entered the church, barring the doors behind him. Making his way around the back hallways, he entered the preperation area, cleaned himself up as best he could, put away all of his weapons, then stepped out onto the pulpit. He quietly cleared his throat, then began the Mass.

[Sixteen]

Having watched what was happening Charles walked closer to the situation and stood there.

"We are going on a mission by the order. She is accompaning me to gather a part of an object that they desire." He said plainly.

He saw Nikki looking at him as though he had commited a crime by simply telling the new persons what they where doing.

"I have no reason to hide who I work for or what I am doing." He said as he watched them.

[Amiboshi_music]

"The order?"

:Ariana thought a moment, trying to remember when she's heard of this, but waved it away once she realized she couldn't.:

"I've heard of it, but I don't know how or where."

: Ariana pointed at Raya with her thumb.:

"My friend Raya and i are leaving here. I guess she needed to manage her way to the next town over, or somewhere abouts like that."

:Arian looked back at Charles and Nikki.:

"And as far as I know, after dark it commonly a better idea to wander out of town in groups."

:She semi insinuated they shoulld travel together. She wasn't sure why, but for some reason she thought it would be a much better idea if these people traveled with them. Then she turned to Nikki.:

"Don't worry, I won't get in the way of your little thing with him."

:She smirked and kind of laughed to herself poking at Nikki as if she were flirting with Charles. When she saw Nikki's face at the comment she kind of burst out laughing.:

raya smiled putting her hand on her scythe, she was a bit nervus and had no intention on traviling with more people.
"um ya nice to meet you two" she said her eyes fixed on the man
demos screached loudly and flaped his wings.

[Kali-chan]

Nikki went bold red at Ariana's words.
You-you-you don't... I-I d-don't kn-know wha-what-what y-you-you're t-talk-talking a-about... You're wrong!!!!!!!! she stammered, screeching the last bit.
Anyway, she said, regaining her composure and putting away her knife,
I've lived in fear my entire life, I believe that I had the right to assume the worst when I saw you, ma'am, she explained, going back to the polite speech. Glancing over at Charles, she blushed a biot again, and walked right up to Ariana.
One more word implying a relationship, and I will kill you, she muttered into the girl's ear. Then she walked over to Charles.
And you... whatever happened to secrecy? I have no reason to fear these two anymore, but what if... we don't know who they're working for, she hissed ito his ear, blushing once again at being so close to him.
Curse that girl and her comments, she thought angrily to herself.

Nemi bowed her head as the opening prayer was read by Kyle, glancing over at Kalina who also had her head bowed.
Forgive me, my God, for I have sinned by causing Your servant, Father Kyle, to worry when I left him to play. I love You, my God, and I pray that you will forgive me, Kalina whispered during the opening prayer.

:Ariana just shrugged her threat off, and kept her laugh to herself when she saw Nikki turn red just whispering in Charles's ear.:

"It makes no difference to me, I think it would be smart for all of us to travel together. I don't know what is making me feel so strongly about doing so, but what ever it is, I don't think it's a bad idea."

Kyle looked at each member of the congregation throughout the service. Thirty-four people had come at the sound of the bells. Many had clearly lost hope, yet the sound of the bells, the figure of the paladin at the steps, welcoming them, the sanctity of the Lord's home, and power of the sermon restored that hope, bringing tears to the eyes of them all.

"Now, my children, it is time to eat. I truly had not expected so many to come, and I beg the Lord's forgiveness for my lack of faith. Perhaps he will grant unto us as he did unto his son with the loaves and fishes, so that my meager supplies will be enough to feed us all. Let us pray."

He found Kalina. "Now, my young apprentice, let us see how far you managed to stretch our resources for this Lenten feast of yours."

raya griped her scythe and was about to pull it out.
she sighed "i guess they can come with if they want" she said looking at Ariana. she tuned and started to walk her eyes shifted from side to side looking around.
her mink fallowed behind her skidding acros the forest ground.

: She turns to look at Raya. She seemed annoyed or someting, so Ariana wandered over to her.:

"I'm sorry, Raya. I shouldn't have asked without asking you first, but something is telling me we should have them with us."

: Gives Raya a pouty face.:

"Are you mad?" :pouty faces some more:

Charles looked at her and nodded.

"Little since in keeping it a secret. Every blood sucker and lythro knows about the order and what they are trying to find. If they are working for them they won't last too long into the wilderness. And if they are not then it won't hurt to have more compainions." Charles stated plainly.

:Ariana spun around and grinned.:

"Exactly! So, we should travel together!"

:She tugged on Raya's shirt sleeve, and smiled at her.:

"Lets get going!"

she was a bit angered about travling with other dead waits hanging off her sholder but she delt with it.

Nikki frowned at Raya and turned to walk, staying beside Charles. She kept staring apprehensively at the two animals and keeping her arms inside her sleeves, fingered the three part staff in her right sleeve and holding a secret pouch in her left which contained poisonous gasses.
Always good to be prepared, she thought,
but I'd rather not use it around Charles...

raya put a hand on her scythe.she sighed and thought to herself.
"i guess its not that bad traviling with others around...ill see what happens"

:Ariana watched Raya walk away so angrily, and kind of felt bad about it. She tried to catch up with her, just to see if she could get the scowl off her face.:

"Hey Raya.. I'm sorry.."

:She peered over Raya's shoulder, then got a small idea.:

"Do you like sweets?"

:Ariana pulled a small pakage of cream puff pastries out of her bag and held one of them out to her.:

"I was going to keep these to myself, but I think they'd be better shared with you. After all you did get me out of that meaningless life in Rott city..."

"its fine i just dont want any dead waits hanging off my sholder"
she looked at her and sighed. then looked at the sweets.
"um not right now, but thank you" she said still having her hand on her scythe.
"im not calling you a dead wait, ok?"

[Sixteen]

Nikki frowned at Raya and turned to walk, staying beside Charles. She kept staring apprehensively at the two animals and keeping her arms inside her sleeves, fingered the three part staff in her right sleeve and holding a secret pouch in her left which contained poisonous gasses.
Always good to be prepared, she thought,
but I'd rather not use it around Charles...

Charles picked up on her feelings. Knowing how Nikki felt when she had thought they would be on their own. He sighed and knew that this trip would be hard enough with one human. But having three was going to be harder. Especially when going through the rogue Trancer areas. They where worse than either the vampires and lythros. And harder to kill.

Before the people could begin the Lenten meal, there came the loud THUD as a heavy body slammed into the doors of the church, sending cracks rippling through the old wood. Kyle immediately ordered everyone to the back of the church. He rushed to the preperation room where he had stored his weapons. He grabbed his swords and the other knives, but left the staff. There were only two possibilities as to what would be attacking, for this holy ground would repel vampires. Werewolf or trancer? Well, a werewolf would fall quickly under his silver blades. A trancer would prove more difficult, as little was known about them and their weaknesses.

"Come on, ye daemon of Hell! Come, and let me purify your soul in death!"

:Ariana smiles a bit more brightly now, knowing Raya wasn't to particularly angry with her. And knowing that she didn't consider her a dead weight. She put the cream puff back in the package, and put it back in her bag.:

"Good. I'm very glad to know that."

[Sixteen]

(It was rogue. Sorry I was typing kind of fast last night and didn't double check my spelling.)

Charles watched them as they began to take off. Each of the girls following him seemed to want to leave the city for some reason or another. His disire was simply to finish gathering the rest of the profecies left behind. He knew that Nikki wanted to gather help for the coming last war. But the other two he knew little about. As the rounded a corner he noticed an older caltholic church. Although being a christian was deffently a plus in this time, it was odd to find a church that was still holding their traditional views. Most had become a melting pot of all of the christian beliefs. He would have passed but that's when he saw them. A group of trancers that had moved into the city a few days ago. These where near wild and oviously interested in draining human life forces. He stopped the girls and knew that they would be in danger if the trancers saw them. Then again the people inside would be in worse if they got through the doors of the church.

"Get back and find a hiding place." Charles said as he watched the trancers.

He knew that there was at least one of them that was older than he was. That ment that this other would be able to hold transformations longer than he could without feeding. Still it would be wrong to not help those inside somehow.

"Hey dirtbags!" He shouted.

The other trancers stopped and looked at him.

"No one messes with a church in my town!" He shouted at them.

"Leave child, go back to that pathic order of your's. We're hungry and those inside can give us their energies." The older one said.

Knowing the only way that they would follow him was if he hurt them he grabbed a rock and hurled it as hard as he could at the elder Trancer. It caught him in the side of the head. The elder Trancer stumbled a bit before pointing at Charles.

"Bring me his head." He said to the others.

As if the voice of God had spoken to them directly they all stopped and began to walk toward Charles. Each of them had began to transform. knowing that he had little chance of surviving if he didn't transform he following in suit. Running at them in his transformed state he began to attack. Granted he had advanced strenght, speed, hearing, sight, smell... but so did the others. Still he did everything that he possibly could. He watched the other trancers acting wildly. Their swings, fighting was as if they where starved and fighting over a bone. He doged the first strike aimed for his head and caught one in the stomach. Kicking forward he managed to catch a trancer in the balls. It screamed and fell to the ground. Not out but hurting more because of the transformation. After all since their bodies underwent an advanced state that ment that they also felt sentive parts more.

raya smirked a bit and heared the sound of a crying baby.
she took out her scythe and ran twords the sound.
he eyes darted around franticly and then saw the baby laying on the forest ground. it had blood coming down its face and it seemed sick.

[Kali-chan]

Nikki frowned and made her decision. Grabbing the pouch with the gas, she whipped it out and flung it into the midst of the Trancers.
Charles, get out of there! she yelled,
At least until this clears up!
Poisonous gas began to cloud up around the Trancers. Nikki pulled out a mask and put it over her mouth. Turning to the other girls, she shrugged.
Only one mask, she said, her voice muted.

[Sixteen]

Charles watched the pouch land and the gas inside of it began to escape. He knew that it would oviously be harmful otherwise she wouldn't have used it. pulling back he moved back from the trancers. Slowly one of them began to waver and then fall. Another followed suit and withing a few moments 8 of the nine had fallen to the gas. The elder watched his troops and then took off. Deciding that it would be best to leave. Charles felt something on his arm and knew that someone was pulling him. He prayed that they had the sence enough not to touch his bare skin.

:Ariana watched on at the little battle going on, then noticed that Raya wasn't there anymore. She looked around frantically, hoping that something didn't snag her while everyone's attention was diverted.:

"Where's Raya?!"

:Ariana stopped for a moment and listened, and she could hear the baby's cry as well. She did her best to follow it until she saw Raya bent down over a baby.:

"Raya, are you ok?"

it has ben bitten..." she said lifting her scythe up and about to swing down.
"be at peace young one for you dont need to go through this torment."
she said looking down at the crying baby.

:Ariana's eyes widened and she grabbed at Raya's sleeve.:

"No! You can't! It's just a baby..."

:Ariana looked at the baby bawling it's eyes out.:

"What if it was bitten by some animal or something?"

:Ariana knew better, but she didn't want to know a baby had been drug into this kind of thing.:

she picked up the baby and looked at its neck, there where two bit marks on it and she set it down again.
"the baby was bit...i must" she said looking down at it then lifting her scythe and about to swing again.

:Ariana stood in front of the baby.:

"Being bitten is not a death sentance."

:Ariana gave Raya a look that said pretty much everything she meant.:

"You know there are good vamps, lythros and trancers. You can't just kill it without giving it a chance. Things aren't the same as they once were."

"they killed my family!!" she yelled. "and they made me watch"
she droped her scythe on the ground and shoved the girl out of the way, then picked up the crying baby.
"but i could give this young one a chance..." she said cradaling the baby in her arms and looking down at it.
"you dont have a name...do you..." she looked to see what the gender was. it was a male.
"hmm how about meier....meier link" she thought for a sec.
"i like that name meier...its perfect" she said smiling "no sence in killing a baby"

Nikki watched as the gas felled all but the elder. Deciding that it would be no use in chasing him, she turned to the church door. Seeing the door open, she started. A small girl was at the door.

:Ariana's face softened and she smiled at Raya.:

"I'm glad you think so. And hey, I'll help you. I'd gladly do so. I'd give anything to make sure a child gets a better up bringing than I did."

:Her eyes get a bit sad, then a soft look of anger filled them before she shook it away.:

she looked down at baby meier.(the soon to be great vampire from vampier hunter D) he stoped crying and tuged on her long hair. "hehe your so cute"
she said kissing his cheek.
"is somthing worng Ariana...you look so unpleased." she said putting a hand on her sholder.

:She smiled at Raya:

"No, just thinking about my past. A very unpleasant thought."

: She lightly stroked the top of the baby's head.:

"Meier is a good name. Carry it proudly little one."

raya picked up her scythe and sliced her finger a lil.
she put her finger into the babys mouth.
"drink lil one you need it" she said as the baby opened its mouth and started to suck.
she smiled softly as lil meier wraped his fingers around her own.
she then put her scythe back where it once was on her back.

:Ariana watched on as she fed the child some of her blood. It was kind of an odd sight to see, yet so caring at the same time.:

"Come on, lets get back to the others. I'm sure they're wondering where we went, either that, or they're trying to ditch us."

:She giggles about it, and starts walking back.:

raya laughed a bit then spoke "ya we should get going...and i want to rest a bit" she smiled and started to walk off. baby meier stoped drinking and giggled

:Ariana lead the way back to the others. When Raya and herself got there, they saw the attackers al laying dead on the ground from the gass still lingering in the air near them. Charles and Nikki stood near eachother looking over at a small girl peering at them from the doorway of the church.:

"Hey who's that?"

((Gah, missed reading one of the posts and managed to get completely lost. Alright, back on track, now.))

The sounds of a brief scuffle outside alerted Kyle that something had changed. The silence that followed made him even more uneasy than the hammering before.

He started as he saw Kalina open the door and peer out. "Kalina! What in the name of the Lord do you think you're doing, child!"

He rushed over, swords at the ready, and stepped out onto the steps. He surveyed the scene: Dead trancers littered the area, and two humans stood some ways off with a baby. One, at least, was a hunter, based on the scythe strapped to her back.

Standing closer was another human...and a trancer. Kyle's hand flashed to his knife bandolier. The knife skipped off the sidewalk where the trancer had stood a moment before, it's super-human reflexes allowing it to step aside. "Kalina, get back inside and bar that door!"

:Ariana saw the panic in the man that stepped out and she stood forward.:

"Wait! No one is here to harm you, Charles here was actually helping get rid of the trancers on the ground here! He and Nikki both took care of them before any harm befell you or that small girl."

:Ariana took a couple steps toward the church, holding her hands out in the air to show that she meant no harm.:

Kalina quickly started to bar the door, but when Arianna spoke, she came out again.
Father, I think these are friends!
Oi, Father! I'm not religious, but I do respect the Church. Is everyone okay? Nikki called, noting Kyle's clothes. She walked over to Kyle and Kalina, smiling.
Nemi, from the belltower again, watched the exchange. SHe was facinated with the skills of the three humans and the Trancer. Heading down, she whispered in Kyle's ear.
Father Kyle, trust them.

[blackknight]

Kyle snorted. "Trust them, Nemi? People who travel with a trancer? And a heathen as well? Godless abominations, the lot of them!"

He turned his back to them. "Because we apparently owe you our lives I will refrain from killing you all at this time, however I have no patience for monsters and heathens. Take yourselves from this holy place, for you have no right to sully it with your presence. This is the Lord's home, and Godless abominations like yourselves do not deserve the Lord's blessing."

He turned back. "Unless you dedicate yourselves, right here and now, to the Holy Catholic Church. Then you may find solace in the Lord's embrace."

((I realize I'm making the joining of both parties difficult, but this is Fath Kyle O'Torrin. Probably should have made him a bit more flexible, but oh well. I'll work it out somehow.))

raya looked around vary confused but she took out her giant scythe and it started to glow.

:Ariana shook her head.:

"What kind of way is that to treat people who just helped you? I'm sure your god would be ashamed of the way you are treating us."

:Ariana glared at the priest. She was never fond of them, because she found most of the ones she met thought they were too good for the ones who had lost their faith in this world.:

"Give me a good reason why I should dedicate myself to a god who allows for such horrible things to happen to this world. If you can do that, then I will, but if you can't you're just like the rest of them..."

:Ariana looked angry now. The priest kind of hit a nerve.:

Nikki frowned at Arianna.
I can't believe what I'm hearing! Sure, I'm not religious, but I heard that my parents were, so I have a bit of respect for the Church. Father, forgive her actions, please? she asked, worried about the man and what his response would be to Arianna's outburst.
Anyway, God is there, I'm sure of it. He exists! I might not be religious, but I do believe in God!
Kalina peeked out when Nikki spoke.
Father...
Father Kyle...
Please?

Kyle growled deep in his throat, then closed his eyes, suddenly weary. 'Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.'

"Enter, travelers, and find peace in the Lord's presence. So much has changed...perhaps I must, as well."

He walked down the steps and retrieved his knife, scanning the area for any potential threats. Just because the trancers were dead didn't mean that there weren't any other foes in the surrounding buildings.

:Ariana scoffed at Nikki, and shook her head.:

"Do not appologize for me, because I am not sorry."

:She nodded to the priest when he finally let them come inside. As she walked past Nikki she gave her a small glare, clearly still mad about both the Priest and Nikki's actions.:

(Yep I am lost)....

Charles looked at the father and semi rolled his eyes.

"God may excest, and in fact I believe that he does, but there is times that I believe that he has left the phone off of the hook." Charles said as he walked closer. He stopped realizing that this man of God could possibly be more.

"You do know that some of the older Vamps no longer fear the relics I see here. And the lythros don't seem to fear much of it at all." He said while looking around.

He could feel the eyes of the priest on him. He felt uneasy here. It was near a church that his mother was killed. And it had been a few of those from inside that had done it. The act had left a mark on him.

raya looked at every one and then at the man who came down the steps. she she tilted her head in confution but was still on gaurd holding her scythe infront of her.
"who are you?...i must know your name" she said to the man her long black hair over her sholders and blowing in her face slightly.

[Kali-chan]

Nikki bowed appreciatively to Kyle and walked in.
Charles, it might not be up to date safe, but it's good enough for now, Besides, I think I'm well long overdue for a confession. So, little, girl, are you Father's helper? she asked Kalina as she walked by.
Ummmm... yes, I'm his appren-appre-app-
Apprendice... Nemi whispered in her ear.
Apprentice! I help him out and I train! Kalina said, triumphantly. Nikki laughed and touched her head.

Kyle had turned to address Charles' statement. "Of course they do not fear it. They have buried their souls so deep into Hell that Heaven's light cannot touch them and purify them."

He drew one sword, and the holy aura could be felt by all. The baby in Raya's arms began to wail. "Where these demons on earth are no longer repelled by the sight of Christ's suffering is where paladins such as myself come in. A church is the people's armor, to protect them. The paladin is the people's sword, to fight for them. Physical armor can be breached, physical swords can be broken. The same is true of their spiritual counterparts."

He resheathed the blade. "So you think the Lord does not listen? That is because you are a heathen monster, who has strayed from the true path. The Lord listens to and aids those who truly follow him. That is why I have the power to fight and destroy the demons who walk the earth in this dark time."

He started up the steps again, but stopped when Raya spoke. "Who are you?...I must know your name."

He glanced over at her, noted the scythe still held, ready to strike. "I am Father Kyle O'Torrin, a paladin of the Holy Catholic Church, sent from the Vatican to begin the purification of this part of the world. My companion is Kalina Sameji, my apprentice in the ways of the Lord."

the baby cryed,but raya put a bariur around him. she looked at the man and smiled softly
she got down on her knees and took the mans hand.
"father Kyle O'Torrin...god bless you...pleas forgive me of my atitude twords you." she said closing her eyes.

Charles nodded when Nikki said that and then almost choked on the words that the father had said. His own anger flared for a second and then he quieted himself.

"Monster... yeah that's real christian of ya." He said as he watched.

Turning around he was about to leave when saw Nikki watching him. She really seemed to want to stay for a moment in the old church.

Kyle smiled an exausted-yet-benvolent smile. He placed his free hand on the top of Raya's bowed head. "I forgive you, my child. The Lord's blessing be upon you."

He raised her to her feet. "Come in, for we were just about to begin our feast when those trancers attacked. I think I can allow our saviours a place in this feast."

((Now the question is, will the little vampire baby be able to enter the church? Is that barrier around him strong enough to repel the defensive holy aura of this House of the Lord?))

raya smiled softly and took Kyle hand. she noticed he was young, and she blushed a bit as he took her hand. she then walked into the church with him leaving baby miere safe in some bushes.
when she got in she looked up at the crusafix and smiled softly.
"sutch a beutiful place" she said to herself,then looked at Kyle.

Nikki bowed to Kyle again as she walked into the church. Taking out all of her weapons, she laid them on the floor in the entrance and looked up at the Crucifix.
It's been a long time since I was in a church... she said, smiling.

:Ariana sat at the table, not really caring if she ate here or not. She just didn't like churches and wanted to leave here as soon as possible.:

"I'm sorry to say, but maybe I will just take a little something and go keep baby Miere company. Since obviously someone so small and innocent can't come in."

:Ariana still had her hostilities toward the church, and the whole idea of god. She took up a couple of bread rolls, and bowed to the group.:

"Thank you for the food, and your hospitality. I'll be outside if anyone wants me."

:Taking her bag, she left, going out and picking up baby Miere, cradling him and caring for him while everyone had dinner.:

Kalina went into the kitchen and brought out a small dish of bread.
Here! she exclaimed, placing it on the table. Seeing Arianna leaving, she tried to catch her.
But you haven't celebrated with us yet! Kalina cried, trying to pull her back in. Nemi followed.
Kalina...
Nemi, help the girl!
Okay... Nemi made herself visible to Arianna.
Listen, I can create a stronger barrier around that child if you wish. The Lord accepts all, even if they are hostile, she said, hoping that the girl would listen.

Hey, where's your apprentice, Father? Nikki asked around a mouthful of bread. Years of soup had given her a reason to enjoy the bread.

baby miere cryed loudly and she could here him. she looked at kyle and smiled
"um i will be right back ok?" she said then went outside. she saw Arianna with baby miere and smiled softly.
"im going to take him inside now...is somthing worng? you dont seem happy" she said taking him and putting a bariur around him then went inside.
"this should last for about 12 hours befor it wears off" she said smiling and looking at baby miere.she then went to kyle and looked at him softly and started to blush again.
"um...exsucuse me?...do you have a place i could set the baby?" she asked him blushing a lil more.

Kyle was baffled by the baby. He could feel its vampirism, and knew that, by all that is holy, he should destroy it, but...it was just a baby, an innocent child.

He stared long and hard at baby Miere, finally sighing and turning away. "This way. There is a nursery area in the back where you can place him."

As he led the way he grumbled inside his own head. 'A vampire...in a church! The Pope would have a fit if he heard about this.'

[Amiboshi_music]

:Ariana shook her head a bit at Nemi. She was a little suprised at first, but got distracted when Raya took baby Miere inside. She looked back to Nemi.:

"It's nothing really. Just memories I do not enjoy remembering."

:A fleeting thought of her mother bringing her to church as a child sent a chill down her spine.:

"My mother tried numerous times to bring me to church and leave me here as a child. She used to say I was some sort of demon child, 'the unholy seed of -that- man.' I'm gathering my father was not my real father, and my mother resented me for that."

:Ariana sighed and crossed her arms.:

"A couple times she tried to drown me in the basin of holy water when no one was around... The sisters of the church would stop her, reprimand her, and send me home with her. I hated them for not doing something more for me. I guess I just always carried that grudge against the church. The one that tells me they don't really care."

:She shrugged, and looked at Nemi, then straightened herself.:

"I'm sorry I said too much."

While Raya fussed with Miere in the back, Kyle returned to the main area intime to hear Ariana's sad story. While the tale truly was a disheartening one, he could see the nuns' logic. "Your mother tried to leave you at a church, my child. While the Catholic Church is known for its generosity in these areas, a church is not the correct place to leave a child. A foster home would have been more appropriate. The individual churches are generally not designed to deal with children. Your mother was negligent, but that is not the church's business. Blame not the church that refused your mother's demands, but blame the mother who tried to have you killed for something that was not your fault when she was told that you could not be left there."

raya came back and looked at kyle softly and then looked away blushing.
"um im back miere is asleep"
she smiled a lil.

:Ariana looked at him.:

"I blame them both. My mother for being as she was, but the church as well for not doing something about it when they saw she was obviously crazy!"

:Ariana had tears in her eyes from remembering the way she was "dealt" with by her mother, and the way the church just turned their back on the problem. She saw Raya come back and wped her eyes, trying to regain her composure.:

"I just don't like churches. They bring back painful memories.... That's all.."

:Ariana hugged herself and tried to smile, wanting to stop the hurting. Taking a deep breath, she turned hesitated a second, then came back to the table, setting herself in the empty seat on the other side of Father Kyle.:

"I'm sorry for my behavior, I just tend to cover my pain with anger.. Forgive me."

Charles knew that the little one was a vampire or at least part. It didn't bother him since he knew that the child's strenght was lower than that of a mere human. Than again what bothered him was the entire structure of this church. Inside of his head he watched the patrons of the church back in Oklahoma beat his mother to death and he could not find solice inside of the walls here. He stired around for a moment and then stepped outside. Holding his pack he took a piece of jerky from it and slowly ate. Food had been scarce enough, but being part of the brotherhood did have its advantages. He looked at some of the children here and saw how starved they where. dipping into his bag he pulled a small white bag from it and gave it to them. inside was jerky and dried tomatoes.

"Here you go kids. eat, you look like starved little scarecrows." He said as they took the bag and began to feast on the contents.

Kyle was unsettled. His world was being turned upside-down by these people, yet he found himself drawn to the challenge. Based on what little he knew of women outside of the Church, he deduced that Raya was attracted to him, though why that was he could not tell. Nor did it matter, for he was forbidden by his vows to form a relationship of that kind. He would have to explain this to her at some point, but not yet. First: Ariana.

He reached across and placed his hand on top of hers, letting his touch convey the Lord's strength to her. "Knowing what I do of the structure of the Church, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that those nuns would have gladly taken you from such a crazed woman, however it is not their place to do so. I'm sure it broke their hearts every time they sent you back, but the Church is not a replacement for the courts, and without a court order they could not take you. A Church-run orphanage, yes, but not a church. I am sorry this place brings such horrific memories to you, for the Lord's house is meant to bring peace to those who enter."

He withdrew his hand, instead placing it over his heart. "It is I who should beg forgiveness, my child, for failing in that duty. Instead of peace, I have brought you sorrow."

He stood up. "In this dark time we need not division, but unity. All of us seek to end this scourge that plagues the world, yet few of us are strong enough to fight. There are many ways to fight, however, and one is by resisting. I propose, then, a different solution. I suggest a baptism for us all, to renew our connections with Our Lord God, his son Jesus Christ, and their immortal spirit the Holy Ghost. Will you all come with me?"

:Ariana looked at his hand on hers, and she felt something inside of her soften. His apology for that past seemed to make something in Ariana change her veiw of the church just a bit. She smiled softly.:

"Thank you. Even though I am still sad, your words have made me feel a bit better about this place."

:As he stood and spoke about the baptism she looked around the table.:

"Are you sure that's a good idea for everyone here? Will it not hurt them?"

:She was really more so just worried about baby Miere. She hoped when he said everyone he meant all that could. Then she stopped a moment and thought to herself about what it would mean if -she- did so.:

Nikki looked up when Kyle mentioned the baptism.
That would... I mean... ummmmm... I would... thank you, she finally came up with an answer. Closing her eyes, she envisioned her dead boyfriend, and started to cry.
Kalina gasped when she heard the sobs.
Is everything okay? she asked Nikki, who shook her head and refused to speak.

:Ariana looked across the table to see Nikki crying. She almost felt selfish for fussing so much over her own problems, not even thinking about the fact that everyone here has had their share of tragedy.:

"Nikki... I'm sorry for what ever it is."

[Kali-chan]

Nikki shook her head and cried some more.
It's just that... my boyfriend... he died so long ago! I miss him! CAM! she cried, getting up and running out, throwing an angry look at Charles for some reason. When she was in the chapel, she went up to the alter and genuflected to the tabernacle.
Forgive me for I have sinned. I fell in love with a Trancer and allowed him to steal my heart. I knew what he was, and I still fell in love. Trancers are a freak of nature... Lord, please grant me your forgiveness... she whispered, tears running down her cheek.

[Sixteen]

Charles stood outside. He could hear the words being said inside. Granted while he was not transformed he had little advantages over humans, but in a world where vampires and werewolves ran free you learned to go past your boundries. He knew how Nikki felt. He understood that she felt pained and hurt about her boyfriend, and just because of what he was Charles would not be accepted. These things where normal and to be expected. As he stood at the stoop for the church a child came toward him.

"Why are you being so nice to us? Aren't you one of those monsters?" She asked.

"Child, a monster is defined not by what they are, but by what they do. There has been plently of human monsters in this earth's past." He said as he sat down.

"Humans can be monsters?" She asked confused.

"Well yes. Humans are as capable of commiting horrible acts that vampires, werewolves, and trancers do. Before the vampire war there was a human that ruled a little country. He was crazy with power and had several million people put to death simply because they where different than himself." He said.

"Really?" She asked.

"Yes, there are other times that humans have done evil things, but I am not saying to trust a vampire or a werewolf just because humans can do evil. What I am saying is to be causious of everyone." He said as he heard the sound of falling footsteps.

"May I help you?" He asked as he turned to see a street bandit.

The Street bandit stood there holding what appeared to be most of a riot gun. He guessed that this one had been outside of the city and found the jackpot when he went into the forbidden area. A place so tainted with the sins of the past that nothing was allowed inside of it. Charles had passed through it a few times and knew that feeling. Dark visions, feelings of hate and rage for no reason. For a trancer it was almost instant transformations. For humans it was lost of sanity. This one had been in there long enough to check the old protrol cars and found this relic.

"That gun most likely won't fire." Charles said.

"We believe it will." The bandit said.

"What is your name?" Charles asked.

"We are called Legon, because we are many." The bandit answered. The sound of his voice sounded as though there was litterly thousands of voices inside of him.

"Great, demon magic. That's why I hate the forbidden area." Charles thought as he got up. The possissed bandit stood at the bottom of the steps not daring to climb any further.

"We have come for you, and for your brotherhood. Human time has gone, and the time for our brothern is near." The bandit said in his many voices.

:Ariana went to Nikki trying to sooth her crying. She knew there wasn't much she could do to ease Nikki's pain, but she wanted to try.:

"Nikki.. It'll be alright."

:She hugged her, and thought about what to say.:

"Some trancers may be evil, but not all of them are.. Just look at Charles. He would lay down his life to protect people. Like he was ready to do to protect you when those monsters tried to attack outside. I don't believe that any sort of love is a sin.. Even love with a trancer."

:She sighed softly, hoping Nikki would listen to her.:

Judging by the overwhelming response, Kyle altered his plans. "Perhaps mass baptism can wait, although it should be soon. Especially for the baby."

He had a theory... "It may be possible to cure the child of the vampiric taint that he has been infected with. A babe's natural innocence coupled with the fact that he was not bitten that long ago may mean that the taint is still weak. A baptism may purge it from him. There is also the possibility that it might kill him, but would that necessarily be a bad thing?"

He held up his hands to quell the rising rage. "I assume he will be raised to follow the word of God. How could he reconcile this with the base urge to feast upon human blood? It would be constant mental and emotional anguish. Better to either cure him now or end his tortured existence before it can begin. Harsh it may be, but such is how things must be until we can purge the world of these sins."

[Sixteen]

The Street bandit came closer. In truth Charles knew that going against an enraged demon was out of his legue. Although he didn't want to admit it, this was better suited for the priest inside. Still these children here didn't need to be subjected to this.

"Kids get up the steps and into the church. He won't follow you." Charles said hoping that the demon would advoid the church at all costs.

"We can stand the pain of being in church." THe many voices said as the street bandit inched forward. Charles tried to catch the bandit off guard but was hit with the remainder of the but of the riot gun.

"Damn it I can't get a shot in if he can see what I am doing from all angles...." He thought as he dodged a kick from the street bandit. Finally the bandit struck him knocking him into the wall of the church.

"You know we where there... We where always there when those things happened to you. We delight in your pain. As we do all humans..." THe many voices said out loud.

Charles got up and looked at him.

"Fine..." He said as he transformed. Not having fed in a while this transformation would last less time than the last time. He charged the street bandit and knocked him back.

"Yessss That's it loose yourself in your hate. Use it to destroy this vessel. Only with hate can you win this fight." The voices said.

Charles then realized that the demons where attempting to make him kill out of cold blood. That would open him up to their attacks. He knew that he had to be calaculated about this. maybe knocking the bandit out and then taking him inside would do the trick.

Kyle turned when many hands pulled desperately at his coat. "Yes, my children, what is the matter?"

"Mister Trancer sent us in 'cause this scary man with lots of voices came."

"Scary man? Lots of...voices...STAY HERE, ALL OF YOU!!" He almost flew out of the great doors of the church. 'Surely not...but the children were clearly frightened...The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.'

The first of his knives flashed through the air, yet the being Charles faced caught it with ease. The thug/demon did not flinch despite the holy silver burning into its flesh. "SsTtAaNnDd BbAaCcKk, LlIiTtTtLlEe PpRrIiEeSsTt. Ii'LlLl CcOoMmEe FfOoRr YyOoUu YyEeTt, BbUuTt Ii HhAaVvEe BbIiGgGgEeRr PpRrEeYy AaTt TtHhIiSs TtIiMmEe."

Kyle's staff was already in his hands. "Ye underestimate me, ye freak o' Hell. Ah would'na be a paladin if ah wehr no' prepared to face such as yereself at all times. Go back to Hell, daemon, and rejoin yere masters in eternal torment!"

((Two points. First, the double lettering for the demon's speech represents the Legion speaking. Second, Kyle's speech will become more Celtic in accent as his adrenaline rises. Thus, facing the Legion boosts his adrenaline to levels above even what he had when the rogue trancers were attacking the church.))

raya stood up and growled a bit.
"your going to kill that child...hes to young..." she slamed her fist on the table.
"im not letting you do it!"
she had no clue why she was protecting a vampire...maby it was becouse she wanted to wait till he got older so she could kill him...but she was still not shur.
"if any one is going to harm him...let it be me" she said lowering her voice.
"im srry for raising my voice...i will go" she said walking to baby miere and picking him up then leaving the church slowly.
she sighed when she got outside.
"god please forgive me..I should have never raised my voice twords kyle."
she took a few deep breths and layed down on the church steps closing her eyes slightly.

:Ariana watched as Father Kyle dashed out the door, a very serious look on his face.:

"What's going on?"

:Ariana went to the children first, and tried to clam them.:

"Hey kids, it'll be ok, you guys should just have some dinner and be patient. Father Kyle will take care of things."

:She smiled softly and stood up, as she stood something changed about her, and she walked outside.:

"Father Kyle, Charles, what's going on out here?"

: Once she saw the demon, she knew there was real trouble here. Shaking her head she muttered something to herself.:

"...sorry Ariana.. "

Nikki turned as Kyle and Ariana ran out of the church.
Father? Ariana? What's going on? she asked as she ran out of the church, silently apologizing.
When she stepped outside, she gasped at the demon.
What's going on? she repeated, instinctively reaching for her staff and knife, then remembering that they were inside the church.
Oh no! she cried as the demon grabbed her and held her in front of it like a shield, hoping that the Priest and Trancer would not attack for fear of hurting the girl.

The bandit stood his ground. Or rather the demons controling him stood it for him. Charles knew that the bandit was little more than a shell by now. The demons had already feasted on his soul and was using his body as a mode of transportation. He watched as the the demons caught the knife and tossed it back. Obviously the demon was more constrated on getting into a stronger body and determined not to be swayed. Charles thought again of the church. While he had no love for the buildings, they where holy. That ment that once a demon touched the ground of a church it either had to leave that moment or be destroyed. He stopped from grabbing the bandit afraid that this demon my be the kind that transports itself by touch.

"Father, do you have a blessed garment? Or does anyone have something to grab him with?" He shouted. The demon cocked the riot gun and to his surprise it fired.

Charles ducked and heard the voices inside of the bandit laughing.

"Wwee ssaaiidd tthhaatt iitt wwoouulldd wwoorrkk ssee." Legon said as he cocked the riot gun again.

Kyle flashed Charles a feral grin. "The best o' both worlds, laddie. Keep yon daemon distracted a wee bit and I'll do what I can."

He reached under his coat to take hold of his stole and pull it out. The long strip of cloth would be perfect for binding the thug's arms, while the blessing upon it would prevent the demon from tearing out.

:Ariana growled lightly as the demon took hold of Nikki. She knew things were getting a little out of hand, and she did not want them to go further that direction. She wandered her way to Charles and Father Kyle, and glared a bit at the demon.:

"What would you do with her? It's obvious you don't want her body. You want the trancers, so why grab her?"

:There was something different about how Ariana was handling this. She didn't seem to be the same person at all.:

"Let her go and fight like the demon you claim to be."

:The demon faultered a bit at the guts Ariana was showing, but he did let Nikki go, pushing her at Charles as he attempted to charge Father Kyle so he couldn't do anything with the sash he pulled out.:

"Father Kyle look out!"

:As he dashed at him Ariana charged the demon in return, moving faster thans he had before, almost like she was using muscles that shouldn't be part of a human. She bashed into the demon, sending him to the ground, and managed to kind of hop backward and move herself to Father Kyles side.:

"Cheap tricks."

Charles watched legon as he used Nikki as a living shield and fired his near ancient weapon. From what he could tell the shells in the riot gun had set for so long that it wasn't firing right. the powder had gotten too old. He thought of trying to ramming the bandit, but wasn't sure what would happen. Then he thought of the knife he had. leaving it closed he tossed it close to where Nikki's hands where at.

"Nikki!!!!" Charles shouted hoping that she would see the knife.

[Kali-chan]

Nikki saw the knife and struggled to reach it. However, the demon realized what she was doing and knocked the knife away.
No! she cried, as the knife fell to the ground too far away for her to grab it. Kalina peeked out from the church doors and gasped. Turning back, she was face to face with Nemi.
Nemi, please help them! she cried out, hugging her. Nemi smiled and nodded.
The Lord has seen your good deeds and will grant you no harm. And He will try to protect your friends and master too. Now, stay and watch over your brothers and sisters! Nemi told her, breaking away and going outside, making herself visible to all.
Father! My whole body is holy as you know. But as you also know, I can not act unless someone from the church gives me permission! This bind holds me until Kalina grows stronger in faith! she cried, her body starting to glow.

Kyle nodded, taking hold of the silver cross which hung from his neck while placing his other hand on Nemi's head, as if bestowing a blessing. "I, Father Kyle O'Torrin, paladin of the Sixth Order of Light and Bishop of Ossory, do hereby release the seals that bind Nemi, angel of our Lord God and guardian of Kalina, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Amen!"

A blinding flash lit the area, signifying the release of the seals which held Nemi's power back. "Go forth and do what must be done, Nemi. God be with you."

((You're not ignored, but everyone has a bit extra on their plate. It takes a lot of concentration to release the seals which bind a planar being, thus Father Kyle was unable to respond to you.))

With the seal released, Kyle was able to pay attention to his surroundings again. To his surprise, he found that the Legion had made an attempt on him, yet had been knocked aside by Ariana. "Ah...thank yeh."

Ariana snorted. "Cheap tricks."

"Hmm? Do yeh refer to your counter-attack, or to the release of Nemi's seals? Ah doonah ken what yeh mean."

[Amiboshi_music]

(( Okay, just thought I would say something, because no one even reacted to my post at all.))

"No the demon."

:She points out that Charles and Nikki are now standing together.:

"He's being Cheap."

:Ariana glared at the Demon, keeping a steady watch on him. The demon was now grossly outnumbered yet he still believed he was invincible. She scoffed at the demon.:

"Lets see if you're as big as your mouth makes you sound."

Nemi exploded into the air, ready to attack. But first, something had to be done about Nikki. She could not attck while the demon was holding an innocent girl in front of it. Furrowing her brow, she dived down at an angle.
In the name of the Lord, demon begon! she cried, a blinding light emitting from the point of impact. Nemi ended up a few feet away, panting and fading away back to invisibility, while Nikki lay in the opposite direction, unharmed, yet shocked. The demon, struck with holy light, roared in disapproval.

raya didnt want anything to do with the people she was saposibly traviling with so she got some things together and headed into the dark forest.

:Ariana turned a bit when she saw Raya walking away from the church with her things. She turned to the demon then back to Raya. She shrugged and gathered that with Nemi helping they would be fine to take care of this demon. She stepped up to Father Kyle.:

"I believe you will be alright to take care of things here. I need to go stop Raya.."

:She patted the Father's shoulder lightly before she took off after Raya, calling to her.:

"Raya! Where are you going?"

raya turned around swiftly. "what is it?...do you want me to help?" she asked sharply. she didnt seem herself. and she seemed a bit sad and felt alone for some reason.
"that demon is nuthing.his name is Dareigeo. he is easy to kill." she said walking back to the church.
"ill get rid of him for you guys" she said walking in side and standing right infront of the demon.
"Dareigeo..why are you here?...you should not be in this place."

:Ariana shook her head and placed a hand on Raya's shoulder.:

"What's the matter Raya?"

:She stopped Raya from looking for the demon.:

"The demon is outside, and the others can handle it. You seem.. not yourself."

:She helped Raya set her things down so she could hold onto Miere. (I assume she took him too)):

"Please don't just leave like that. I'm sure people worry."

she turned and heared the demon yell.
"come on lets go...im going to kill him" she said taking of with baby miere,
when she saw the demon she stoped and grind slightly.
"demon why do you come?...how dare you step onto the land god had created." she grabed the side of her kimono and riped it showing her side with bandaged covering it.
she then took off the bandedges, blood driped from a huge cut that was shaped as a cros.
"this is what happens when you step into the worng place...A PLACE YOU DONT BELONG!"

Charles watched the demon as he stared at the wound on the voice that just called to him. Charles remembered when he was very young a man once told him about about a group of demons that had entered a man and called themselves legon. He wondered if all demons did the same when they entered a human. The riot gun still in his hands he wondered exactly what could be done at this point. Knowing that his knife was gone he searched his person and found a cantine of water. Looking at the priest he tossed it hoping that the good Father would understand what was going on.

"Bless the water and throw it at him." Charles shouted.

:Ariana's eyes wided as she looked at the wound. She wasn't sure what to make of it, so she took the shock the only way she knew how, and focused on the demon. Anger was usually a good outlet in these situations. She just watched on as Charles and Father Kyle took care of things, anger kind of welling up inside.:

* How could she just hold in all that pain and not say anything to me? She was so hurt this whole time and she didn't say a word!*

raya unstraped her scythe as a strange light formed around it.
"this is what happen when you try to destroy gods beutiful creations...this wond wont stop bleeding...and im dieing a slow and painful death becouse of it!"
she charged at the demon swining her scythe cutting the demons throte.
the demon gasped for air and droped to the ground.
she steped back still holding the scythe. and blood driped down.
"im the great gardiean god has chosen to protect this beutiful earth"
the scythe was turning inot more of angelic scythe with golden wings coming out of the back.

:Ariana watched on in shock. Not sure what to do, she just waited to see what would happen.:

with that said she raised her scythe and and quikly swong it at the demon choping it in half. the demon took its last breth and closed its eyes.
"heh stupid,stupid demon" she said putting her scythe away.

[Sixteen]

Charles watched and was amazed at the actions before him. He knew that the host for the demon was dead. Now the demon had to find another host. At least that is what he heard they had to do if they where too far from the areas that they inhabited on the earth because of all of the anger, hate, distrust, greed, and other feelings that happened in that area before a huge toll of death happened. He stepped back toward the church.

a dark light came out from the host and raya grabed it quikly.
"stupid thing" she said then crushed it like a bug. the demon was fully dead and she put it in a small jar with other dead things.
raya looked at Charles. "hay are you ok?" she asked him

:Ariana just kind of blinked. She thought a moment that she was now glad she chose Raya to travel with over anyone else.:

"Wow Raya... That was.. crazy."

:She giggled softly, seeming to be her normal self again.:

Nikki blinked and looked around.
So, that thing's... gone? she asked, worried. She had never been so scared in her life before she had been picked up by the demon possessed human. Looking around, she shuddered.
That reminded me of... oh, never mind, she said, stepping back.
Nemi looked at Raya, surprised. Going invisible, she went to the Father's side and touched him on the shoulder so he knew she was there.

[Sixteen]

Charles nodded and then looked at the mulitlated body laying on the ground. He walked forward and looked it over. The bandit was oviously smart enough to travel into an area where no one would follow him. Meaning that he wasn't smart enough to keep out of trouble. gazing at the dead man for a moment it occured to him. This bandit had traveled there out of fear. A normal human wouldn't travel into the forbidden area without some kind of prayer cloth, charm, or some other form of protection. Looking him over he found what it was. below his torn midsection was a large brand. This bandit had been made into a target. The brand was the kind that made their blood stand out to vampires and lythros.

"So your own sold you out." He said to himself as he studied the brand to figure out what gang of theives did this terrible thing.

He felt Nikki standing close to him. After hearing what she said he naturally began to wonder exactly what she was reminded of. He banished the thought and stood up.

"Our friend here was sold out by the northern hights band. That explains why he went into the forbidden area. Vamps and lythros don't go in there much. Still it would have been safer for him to travel into the heart of rott city." Charles said as he streched.

He searched around and then felt the cold chill. Gazing he could tell that they where being watched by not sure by who. After a few moments he told himself that what he was feeling was just paranoia and was pretty well excused thanks to the recent experence.

[mikiwolf]

"ok thats good"she said
blood still driped frome her side and she wraped a clothe around it.
"so what are we going to do?" she asked looking at father softly, her eyes sparkled and she blushed a lil. she looked at the little jar and grind a bit then spoke softly.
"dark thoughts fill the minds of mortals...and blood spils...come to life and searve me demons...be at peace and fight the darkness." the the jar lit up and growling could be heard.

[Sixteen]

Charles noticed the jar containing the demonic auras that raya had collected had began to glow. He remembered something from the manuscript that he was suppost to collect about it.

"Demon light will show the way, Demon light will not faze. Demon light will help to destroy their race." The passage had said. He thought for a moment about it.

"Raya, how do you make those demonic auras light up like that?" He asked.

[Kali-chan]

Nikki stood back, still in shock about the demon. Kalina finally poked her head out, annoyed that she wasn't able to help, even though she was young.
That... thing... I... Nikki shivered, not wanting anything to do with demons. She remembered all too well what had happened.

~Flashback~
She is eight years old. A Lythros comes and attacks her family. All she sees is pitch black. She hears screams. Reaching out, she tries to find her brother in the darkness. She hears cries, then they go silent. She bursts out in tears. Something touches her and she screams. The Lythros says that he had better kill the last in the family. She doesn't know what he means. The Lythros is about to kill her. Something knocks it to the side. All she sees is blackness still. Something touches her eyes. She can see again. She sees her mother lying on the ground next to her. She is dead. Her father is a few feet away, dead also. She looks behind her. Her brother is lying there, mutilated... and dead. The Lythros is lying nearby, in pain. It gets up and runs off. The thing that saved her offers its hand. It is covered in insects and mutilated. She screams and runs away.
~End Flashback~

Nikki shuddered and looked around. She hadn't seen the demon since it had saved her, nor had she seen the Lythros. But what she saw that day would never leave her mind. Sure, the demon had saved her, but a demon was a demon. And of course there was Cam, killed by a Vampire.

~Flashback~
She is now fourteen. She is kissing Cam when a Vampire comes up to them. It attacks them. Cam tries to save her, but is killed by the Vampire. Her eyes suddenly go dark again as she sees only black. She hears screaming, and assumes that it is the Vampire, as she saw Cam dead, lying spreadeagled on the ground. When she can see again, there is no one around. Cam is gone, except for a small watch. She picks up the watch. It crawls with insects.
~Flashback~

The insects had been enough to tell her that the demon had come back. But this time it had taken her boyfriend. She looked at Charles and started to cry lightly.

:Looking around at the group, Ariana took this moment to try and lighten the mood.:

"Is anyone still hungry? Cause I thunk all the chilren are eating it all without us."

She could see Nikki over behind Charles crying, and she knew there was still much much more to that girl than she has seen. After waiting to see if anyone was going to join her in going back inside, she wandered in, her stomache growling at her.:

"Fights always wear me out. Even when I don't do anything.."

:She kinda spoke to herself. The whole time she was speaking she kept mummbling somethng about being lazy because she didn't even leave the stoop of the church the entire fight. She seemed to have absolutely no recollection of helping father Kyle, or running after Nikki. Nothing.:

" ... Food.. Mmm."

((I finally figured out what I'm going to do with Ariana, so, uhm.. I'll post it in the OC after it kind of comes to the surface here. I dun wanna spoil it. XD ))

i dont know...i found out i could do this about a year ago..and only 5 others are able to do it" she said still holding the jar
her crow came down and landed on her sholder cawing. the bird pecked at the jar and it then opened. the light spred out and took over her crows body and he grew a bit larger and gained an exstra eye.
"good boy demos...good boy" she said smiling.

[Sixteen]

Charles nodded and then looked at Nikki. He saw that she was indeed suffering. He wanted to let her know that he was there for her. But somehow he doubted if she would accept it very easily. In fact he was fairly certain that she would just push him away. Finally after a moment he touched her shoulder.

"A person doesn't have to suffer alone. You can share what you think or feel with friends and it does help." He said before he began to turn and walk back into the building.

raya patted demoses head and walked into the building as well.
"im getting tired" she said to herself.

[Kali-chan]

Charles... wait... Nikki said softly, running to catch up with him.
I really want to tell you, but... eek! she cried, as a figure appeared behind Charles, inside the Church.
How... how could that thing be inside? she asked, shocked.
Don't tell me you don't remember me. I've come to finish off the rest of the family, the Lythros snarled, grinning. Nikki gasped and fell to her knees.
NO!!!!!! she screamed, grabbing Charles' hand. The Lythros held out an arm, robed in something white.

raya was shocked to see the Lythros inside the church...but she better let the others finish this one off...for she didnt want to do all the work.
she snorted and laughed slightly. "hehehe...god your a stupid animal." she said grabing her scythe and reading herself but not doing any thing till it atacked her first.

all of a suden her white mink came scurying in its back arched and fur puffed up.
"hiiisssssssss!"
raya looked at rephy and smiled. "sorry lil guy i dont think your going to be able to take him on" she said laughing a bit. rephy stoped and waddled to Nikki hopping up on her sholder.

Raya! Stay back! That thing killed my family! Nikki screamed, grabbing her staff and brandishing it.
Do you honestly think that you can defeat me, Clawburner? If so, Miss Stavenstein, then you are sorely wrong, Clawburner growled, moving towards her.
Nikki felt the mink and smiled.
Thank you. But this is my conflict!

raya sighed "your nuthing but a maget...a filthy maget" she said .
rephy who was now on nikkis sholder tryed his best to look big and tough for her...but in the inside he was afraid.
"i will let you kill him then...cuz im shur you would do the same thing for me" she said steping back a lil.

Charles watched and nodded. He agreed that he would not get into this without just cause. However he flashed a look that could kill toward the lythro. It seemed that he ment to mentially tell it that he would kill it if she didn't. And that he would not be quite as pleasent about it.

:Ariana heard something outside and something in her head clicked. She ran outside to find another problem accuring. She snarled.:

" I thought I smelled another out here!"

:Ariana stopped a moment as she noticed a couple of them look at her oddly. She growled and stared back at them.:

" Don't look at me like that I will explain later.. "

: She turned her attnetion back to the lythro.:

" If you hurt her I won't let you survive it."

: She wasn't planning on keeping Nikki from fighting her own battles but she would not stand by and let anything, let alone a lythro, hurt her.:

Clawburner grinned.
So, you have some friends to help you,Miss Stavensten, he said, moving towards her. Nikki started to sweat as she held her staff out in front of her.
Don't get any closer! she gasped, seeing something out of the corner of her eye. Turning to see what it was, she failed to see Clawburner leap at her. She screamed just as Ariana came back, and fell to the ground.
Sad, Miss Stavenstein. Your family was always so-
Leave my family out of this! You already killed them, why remind me about them?
Because, it is your weakness, Miss Stavenstein, Clawburner grabbed her throat and held her up. Nikki's eyes went wild as she kicked and flailed to get away.
Mmmf! Mmmf! she tried to get out as the Lythro muffled her mouth.
Kalina went chalk white as she watched.
Nemi couldn't believe her eyes.

Far away, a creature watched and started to make its way towards the church.

:Ariana clentched her fists and snarled again as little by little she started to shift into a cat lythro. She hissed at the other lythro and readied herself to attack.:

"Let her go or you'll regret ever living."

:There was obviously something different about Ariana now, but even the air about her changed. It was as if she was a completely different person entirely. Her glare was hard and cold, and her new grown fur was standing on end.:

" I said put her down!"

raya stoped Ariana and sighed.
"she wants to do this herself...so let her...if she needs any help she can just ask...but for now leave it be" she said still clenching her giant scythe.
she eyed him over and smerked.
"his week point is his forhead" she said to Ariana
"the third eye his ability to see others weekneses." she said looking at her then taking out her scythe. "if you can hit the right part on his horhead he will die instantly."

Clawburner looked at Ariana and smiled.
So, you are a Lythro hybrid, I see. Well, this is between me and Miss Stavenstein. So BACK OFF! he roared, swiping at the two girls and knocking them off their feet.

Nikki screamed silently and tried to kick. Then, realizing that one arm was free, she inched the arm towards her sash, grabbing her knife. Bringing it up, she stabbed it into Clawburner's hand.
Argh! he yelled, letting go of her. Nikki fell to the ground and rolled to avoid getting too hurt. She lay there for a moment while Clawburner advertised his displeasure.

"I wasn't going to help, he just knows when he's playing fair and when he isn't doing so. And with Nikki in a choke hold like that with nothing to defend herself with, things are not even match."

:Soon after she mentioned this to Raya though, Nikki pulled out a knife and drove it into the lythro's hand.:

"That's better."

:She stayed at the ready, still knowing that this lythro had Nikki out numbered in stregth and agility. But he didn't have a thing on her. She was ready to kill him if Nikki fell.:

Nikki got up and fixed her robes.
What was it? What was your name? she asked, glaring at the Lythro.
Clawburner, Miss Stavenstein! he replied. Nikki took a stance with her staff and leaped towards him.
Clawburner, your time is up! she yelled, suddenly screaming. Kalina had watched, Clawburner hadn't injured her. Something else was wrong. Nikki landed on the ground, a few feet away from the Lythro, and stood up to look at the group. She could't. In the place of her eyes was a mass of insects.
I can't see!

:Ariana stood back, confused. She knew the lythro didn't do this, but then what was happening.:

" Nikki, what.. are you ok?"

she seen the bugs in her eyes and she grited her teeth.
"god d**n it" she said to herself. "there is to much evil in this area."
she took the jar and got down on her knees. she held the jar in her hand and slamed her hand on the ground braking the jar. the shards of glass cut her hand open and the demons aruras that where traped in it absorbed into her body. "hehehe...hahahaha!" she laughed demonicly her eyes narowed and her peuples shrunk to nuthing. her long black hair turned curly and fangs grew.
demon wings unfolded and there where black circles around her eye and also black markings on her neck.

Charles watched what was happening. Obviously things where about to get a lot more interesting. He flet something creeping up on him. Not one of the demons or a lythro, but rather it was the feeling of his own hunger. He felt the need to feed on a life force and soon. Having transformed and not fed had taken a lot out of him. Griminsing he ran toward the lythro and wrapped a hand on its back. His instant transformation ment that he was feeding on it.

"Time to play." He said as he began to feel the surge of energy.

Clawburner yelped as the Trancer started to feed on him.
How dare you! he roared, shaking Charles off. Meanwhile, Nikki was frantically trying to clear her eyes.
What's happening? Is it happening again? Will all of my friends die? Why is this happening? she screamed, starting to cry around the insects.

:Ariana went to Nikki and placed a gentle, but not so human, hand on her shoulder.:

"Shh.. It's ok, we are not going anywhere."

Charles let out an almost inhuman laugh as the Lythro tried to shake him loose. Granted normal situations would have called for him to slightly more stragitic in his fighting, but the need for feeding was getting the better of him. He held tightly to the lythro and rammed a fist into his side.

"Not until you yeld!" Charles shouted

raya charged forweard...for she could barly be seen. she then cloned herself standing around the Lythro and laughed.
"stupid stupid creature!..." she said her clowns echoing the words also.
she had a strange demonic power running through her . huge spider like legs riped out from her back and poisin was driping from the top two.
"you want to fight?" she said and once again the clonse echoed.

:Instead of trying to fight Ariana just stayed by Nikki, who seemed to still be freaking out over the bugs. She wasn't sure what was happening to her, but Ariana was sure she would find out eventually.:

"You appear to be very outnumbered here Clawburner. Be careful of what you say now, because I'm sure all of us would be more than will to snuff that feeble exsistance of a life you have."

:Ariana was kind of snarling that comment, knowing that Clawburner was afraid. She could smell it on him.:

"i would be more than happy to get rid of you!" raya said and her clones spoke also. she claped her hands twice and the clones of herself ran to the ugly beast and took out there scythes hitting his back. raya and her clones where still vary much demonic.

"Stop! Let him speak. See what he says. If he so chooses you can kill him, but see why he is here first. See if he was sent perhaps. And if he was, who by, and what for. Do not be so rash Raya."

:Ariana Wanted to know why this Lythro was finding it so neccisary to torment Nikki and only Nikki.:

"So, Clawburner, Why is it you see fit to follow Nikki? Did someone send you, or are you just trying to finish what you started?"

:Ariana kind of hissed the last to him.:

"Becareful of yourself though. One answer may get you killed right here and now."

Clawburner was slowly getting worried. A trancer, a demonic girl, and whatever the last girl was, for he couldn't tell about Ariana. He was completely outnumbered and could not hope to compete with power.
You want to know? Miss Stavenstein here, she owes me a little something called a life. Once I take hers, then I can redeem myself in the eyes of the more powerful Lythros! Her family for years has defied the Lythro race, and I granted the tribe a favour by killing her family. Then I killed someone close to her! But still, they would not accept me back into the tribe! That's when I realized. Miss Stavenstein here is who they want dead. And for a good reason. She- he stopped there. For standing on top of the church, black rags hanging off its reeking body, was a figure whose arms were mutilated and covered with insects. It raised its hand and the insects swarming Nikki's eyes flew off and returned to its body. Nikki blinked and looked up.
It... it came back! she screamed, throwing her knife at it. It moved aside and flew down beside her.
Mmmf ymmmmommmmummm demmmermmmmvemmm tommmmmmmm-
SHUT UP!!!!!!! Clawburner screeched, leaping towards it with Charles still on his back.
You b**tard! You won't stop me this time! You protected her those last two times, but Miss Stavenstein won't want a beast like you protecting her, will she? he asked, swiping at it. It simply moved to the side and towards Nikki. She whimpered and stepped back.

raya charged at Clawburner and same with her clones she sarounded him and held a scythe to his neck.
"dont you try making another move...or i will kill you...and same with my clones" she said growling her spider legs pearced his skin as she held him up against a wall she growled feroshisly.

:Ariana clutched Nikki's shoulder and stood her ground protecting her.:

"Calm down Nikki. I do not think that thing is here to hurt anyone. I believe he's the reason you are still alive today."

:Ariana nodded to Raya holding Clawburner back.:

"So, you decided to go with the wrong answer. Too bad, too, you never did stand a chance as being accepted by the 'More Powerful Lythros'. You are weak."

Clawburner struggled against Raya and decided that it was no use. Stopping, he went limp, then suddenly exerted all of his remaining strength at the moment breaking loose.
Fine. Do as you will, but I will be back! And I will be stronger! Just you wait! he roared over his shoulder as he ran off into the city. Nikki recoiled away from the creature as it laid a hand on her shoulder.
I don't care if it is an ally, when my boyfriend died, the only thing left of him was a watch covered in insects! she cried, hugging Ariana. The thing moved away and somehow looked sad through the thick bandages covering its head.
Mmmmmfmffmfmfmfmffmmfmmffffmfmfmf it said, slowly.

with what Ariana said raya injected poisen into his body and then slit his throught. "you stupid creature...your going to die slowly and if you try to run ill kill you right away without mearcy." she said in her demonic raspy voice then laughed. she claped her hands still holding the Lythros with her sharp spider like legs injecting poisen into him, and her clones disapeared.

:Ariana held a hand up to Raya.:

"Let him go Raya. He'll get what's coming to him."

:She then turned to the insect guy to stop him.:

"Wait. What did you say?"

:She held Nikki, trying to get her to calm down. She was trying to figure out who he was and what he was to Nikki.:

hes going to die anyway...so fine" she said leting him go but his bady was already limp and dead from the poisen and she made shur of it by slicing his head off "hehehe..." she laughed a bit.

Charles stood in awe at the actions that had happened. He was still trying to figure out the intentions of the insect demon when he realized that Clawburner was oviously going to go and regroup. It would be a bad idea to stay here incase he had other friends to come with him. Although he was just a trancer his own strenght was nearly to par with an older vamp. Granted he was still far from being able to match an elder blow for blow, but he could hold his own against some of the lythros. Still being outnumbered was still outnumbered. He knew that the order needed the book and maybe it could help those here as well. That's when it occured to him. Maybe he was still alive. If so then he would be a perfect addiction.

"We should move out. Granted we are safe on holy land from evil intent demons, and vampires. but we are not shielded from lythros in its walls. However there is a friend not but half a day's walk from here. He lives outside of the forbidden area. He may be able to help us with weapons, and some directions." Charles said hoping that some of them if not all would follow him.

Nikki started to cry, as the creature turned to Ariana. It raised its arms and the insects flew off again and into Nikki's eyes. She screamed, as the creature shed the insects and appeared to be an almost normal boy. Albeit, a poorly dressed and torn up one. He held out a hand to Ariana, which still had a couple of insects on it.

Hello. My name is Cam, he said softly, so Nikki wouldn't hear. He turned to Charles and nodded towards him.

Clawburner will come back, so I would advise that we achieve some more companions,

:Ariana nodded. She thought as much. She wasn't sure why, but she doubted any -demon- would protect a human without any person gain.:

"It's good to know Nikki is in such good hands to protect her."

:She kind of nodded at the idea, knowing they should move out, but hesitated a moment. She turned to go back inside, and sat back down at the table. A moment later she walked back outside.:

"Heey.. What is everyone doing out here again?"

:Ariana was now the seemingly harmless girl that originally met up with Raya, again. When she looked over at Raya, who was now a gigantic spider demon, she let out a soft scream and kind of colapsed to the stairs in horror. Something wasn't right with her, she didn't appear to understand or even know anything about what was going on here, even though she had been present for all of it.:

raya growled as the thing got away and she looked over at Ariana
"its ok i wont hurt you" she said holding out her hand.

:She still looked somewhat frightened, but a moment later her expression changed, and she took Raya's hand.:

" I am sorry for this, but I should explain. Ariana.. she has two personalities. The one Raya first met, and myself. We are still both Ariana, but she does not know of what I am or that I even exsist. She believes her mother hated her because of who her father was. Really, her mother was afraid of -what- her father was."

:Ariana kind of sighed, not sure how to explain. She had never really had to before, and she was finding it quite difficult.:

" Ariana's Father was a Lythro. He wasn't always one, he and her mother were very close, but not long before Ariana was concieved, he contracted lycanthropy. He kept it hidden quite well, but one day, when Ariana was only about 3, he slipped up. Her mother was frantic when she found out, and she kind of went crazy. She killed Ariana's father after finding out that Ariana could be one as well, but that she wouldn't show signs of it until she were older."

:Looking around she went to Nikki, who seemed to still be freaking out over the insects. She put her hand on her shoulder, and went down to speak into her ear.:

"Be calm Nikki, they are not hurting you, and the one who controls them is a very good person. Please believe me."

:She got back up, and turned to the others again.:

"But, sadly, that is why Ariana's mother tried to get rid of her. She thought she would grow up to be a killer. But when her father was murdered, she gained me, her second personality. I'm the personality that actually took on the lycanthropy. When she is her normal fiesty self, she cannot transform, but she is still a tough cookie. But when I come out I can actually transform at will."

:Ariana looked very serious, and kind of snarled.:

"Don't any of you try to screw up how this works. She doesn't know I exsist, and she is better with not knowing. So don't say a word to her. If she finds out who knows what could happen to her. If she asks what happened you just tell her she blacked out again. She believes she has an incurable form of epilepsy that is harmless but makes her black out, and she better continue to believe that."

Charles looked at her and suddenly got a dumbfound look on his face.

"Okay...." He said oviously a little thrown off by the explaination. He knew that the girl had to have more going on than what she appeared.

3 Days outside of Rott City.....))

A man stood in his house. On one hip was his grandfather's old colt. On the other was the mac 9 from the bandit that had crossed his path earlier. Both weapons where usefull against all kinds of enemies. He grinned slightly as he worked the 9mm around in his hand. Slowly he took the gun apart remembering what he had studied under his father. Who would have known that learning the family business would be so profitable. His grandfather and father had been gun smiths and now he was one as well. But unlike both of them he also made more unconventiable weapons. He looked at the crossbows, cruffix spring launchers, and UV light generaters. Hearing something outside he loaded the old colt with a couple of silver shells. He hated to waste the silver, but it was worth it if was a lythro. Seeing nothing he turned to go back and then suddenly found himself under a female lythro. she growled at him and snapped. He kicked her off and she looked at him with a wild stare before turning back.

"Lydia!!!! Damn it I could have killed you!!!!" He shouted.

The girl shook her head and touched a finger to her hips making a sizzling sound.

"Baby you could't touch an *** this hot." She said as she laughed.

He shook his head and turned toward the shop.

"So what are you working on Hooch?" She asked him.

He turned back toward her making a displeased face.

"Lydia please call me Cyris." He said.

"Yeah, Yeah you know your dad named you hooch and that's what I like to call you." Lydia said as she smiled.

"Just don't like sharing the same name as that damned dog of Grandpa's." He said as she walked back in. She followed him and looked at the toys. If she hadn't been on his good list she would be frightened. He had more than enough to take out nearly any lythro or vamp he wanted.

"So you know when Charles is coming back through?" She asked him.

"Probly in a couple of days. He only got half of the book." He answered.

She nodded. She knew that he was hired by the order and would look for that damned book until he found all of it. And it didn't help that the elders from both the lythros and vamps would do anything to ensure that he didn't find it. Personally she didn't care if he did or didn't.

Cam nodded towards Ariana, and then to Raya.
Clawburner might be dreadfully weak, but he has hidden strengths. We would do best to pick up a few comrades. And as for Nikki, please tell her that I as the Insect Demon am a friend? he said, as insects started to swarm his arms, followed by the rest of his body. When the transformation was complete, the insects flew out of Nikki's eyes and returned to his arms.
Mmmmfmmmfmfmmmfmfmfmmf he said, sounding sad. Nikki took a step back and closed her eyes. When she opened them, he was still there.
Wha... what happened?

[Sixteen]

"That thing is a friend to you Nikki." Charles said watching them.

He saw her looking unconvinced.

"Wheither you want to admit it or not it saved your life." He stated as he watched the insect demon.

raya stood onlyon her spider legs and walked to the others.
"d*** what kind of creature are you..may i ask?" she said looking at cam.
she eyed him down a bit, he was not human...of corse not. "srry about my form..this is not my true self let me change." she said smiling.
raya then closed her eyes and claped her hands four times, she was now back to normal her long black hair was strait again and her giant scythe was on her back once again.

:Ariana waited for Raya to change back to regular before letting herself fade back to her original personality. Once she did, Ariana blinked, and then hugged Raya.:

"Oh thank god you're back to normal! I was afraid something happened and you'd be that way forever..."

:She gave a bit of a pout at the idea of Raya being all big and spidery, then smiled.:

"So, uhm... I won't ask about you."

: She said this pointing at Cam, then she turned to Charles.:

" Where are we going next?"

[Sixteen]

Charles looked at Ariana again for a moment before shaking his head.

"We're heading out into the outer lands. About 8 hours that way is an outpost with a friend who makes weapons. It will give us a chance to get some weapons, ammo, and also some direction." he said fairly certain that Hooch would deffently know where the other part of the book might be at.

"Okay! Then to the outpost we'll go."

:She turned to look at Raya.:

"Hey, maybe someone should go get, or at least check on Meire."

raya smiled and ran to meire,she picked him up and smiled.
"srry lil one...im glad your ok." she said then walked back to the others.
"im srry if i scared any of you with my form...i usualy dont do that not infront of others" she said smiling a bit.

[Kali-chan]

Nikki looked sideways at the Demon, and nodded.
Okay... she said, not convinced. The Insect Demon moved towards Charles and motioned for him to follow. Nikki was next, while Kalina blinked and looked at Kyle.

Father, should we go with them? she asked. Kyle shook his head.

"We will stay here and look after the city. I think we can handle it, right, Kalina?" he told her. Nikki bowed to the Father and followed Charles. As they walked away, the paladin and attendant watched.
I hope they'll be alright... she said. Kyle nodded.

"I do too..."

raya smiled a bit walking with them.she wondered if Ariana was a bit frightend of her. she knew in her mind that she was a holy woman...and yet could turn into a demon to fight demons...she was always confused about it...but now it was clear she had ppl to protect...her friends.
"i need to get new cloughs for babby meire." she said looking at him and smiling.

Charles followed the insect demon out of the city and watched as they passed the entrance to the city. Slowly each of them made it out into the unprotected world. Charles knew that it would take at least eight hours to walk to the outpost. Once there they would be able to speak to hooch and maybe find some more information.

"i dont have any exstra cloughs to wrap around him" she said looking through her bag then sighed.

:Ariana took off her sweater, and handed it to Raya.:

"There you go. I'm sure it'll keep him nice and warm."

raya smiled. "thank you" she said taking the sweter and wraping it around meire. she then looked over at father kyle and blushed a lil walking close to him...and baby miere on her back in a holder.
she looked away a bit.

Nikki stayed close to Charles, but avoided looking at the Insect Demon.
So where exactly are we going? she asked, confused. The initial shock had worn off and she was quickly reverting back to her normal self.

[Sixteen]

He looked at her and then nodded toward the northwest area just at the horizion. He still weighed the thoughts in his mind. Lydia had once sworn to kill him and although there was a truce between them he knew that once he had betrayed their trust. He had no choice in the matter. The order had wanted to know the location of Lydia's home so that she could be considered a safe house of sorts. By giving the location he had invited a world to hurt to her. And naturally she had wanted to kill him for it. It had taken a couple of years to get back to normal with her and now he was pushing their truce a little more simply by going back.

"The outpost is just beyond the next hill. Once there we need to beware a couple of things. These people have been keeping vampires out for a long time.. However they do trade with Lythros on occasion. Mainly as a form of exterminating vampires. But the order considers them to be a safe haven from the surrounding war zones." Charles stated as they began to climb the hill that had once been part of an over pass.

((And now I am able to return. As I understand the situation, the two groups have split again, with Kyle, Kalina, and Nemi remaining behind. From there...))

Kyle forced himself to keep busy at all times, for he had come to realize that whenever he allowed his mind to wander his thoughts travelled to the unusual traveling companions who had shattered his well-defined black-and-white world, filling it with so many different shades of grey. Were they alright? Had they met up with this friend of Charles? Or had they met some terrible enemy and been destroyed, or worse?

He shook his head firmly. He had allowed his thoughts free rein again. He looked around, wondering where Kalina and Nemi had gotten to.

:As Ariana followed the group, her mind continued to wander. She knew she had missed a lot from "Blacking out" and because of it she felt kind of uneasy leaving the church. She knew at least there she had a place to stay fo the night, and it was safe from most unholy things.:

"I hope Father Kyle is doing alright."

Charles watched behind himself and saw the ones following himself. He wondered what Lydia was going to do when she saw his companions. Slowly the crossed the hill and came down to what looked like a gutted out station. There inside of the old repair part of the station stood a man cobbling a gun together. Charles waved at him and the man waved them all toward himself. He nodded and then turned to the girls again.

"Everyone this is Hooch's place. He runs this outpost and has the best weapons in the outer world. But he does remain netural between lythros and humans when it comes to trading. Act with respect and there will be no trouble." He said as they walked toward the station.

raya looked around and then desided to go back to father kyle. she rushed over twords where he was and stoped right infront of him.
"hay.." she said softly.

Kyle blinked in surprise when Raya stopped in front of him. "Raya? I thought you'd gone with the others. I'm afraid I canno' provide much excitement anymore. Until the Vatican sends another to protect this church I'm bound to serve as its Defender. An abandoned church I could leave, knowing that it will be reclaimed once the world is purified once again, but one which people attend?" He shook his head in resignation. "I'm afraid my skills will stagnate."
